Raider76: Usually higher CRR means less money for banks to generate profits from their deposits, leading to fall in bank share prices. Higher interest rates means investors may make more money in bank deposits than in equities at the NSE. thanks.there is no need to explain again. Manage this orijin. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Intendy: 2:49pm On Mar 22, 2016 |
Raider76: MPC has raised MPR to 12% and increased CRR to 22.5%. No mention of devaluation. nice one.was expecting this. inflation has spiked in February and banks that ought to have increase lending to the preferred sector are not helping matters. they allowed the government to decrease CRR in November but nothing to show for it. so I expected the increase earlier in January mpc but its not too late. thou BAD for the market in the short run |

donmarshia: The funny thing is that u won't see Ucap to buy until it gets to 2.21. A 30% upside from 1.7naira.
Then the dividend yield will be 14.25% less withholding tax. in situations like this you need "Agbero" brokers |

me3000: 1 April 2016 ucap closure is 31st march. so the date for qualification of dividend(which he asked for)will be 30th march.this is the last day you are expected to buy ucap to qualify for dividend. cause on 31st march it will start trade at ex-dividend price(marked down price)door closed don't get it twisted, dividend is a beautiful thing. |

leo1234: In my view, I think access has the best result so far among the banks. Forget the dividend issue. Q1 will tell. the least I feel access should have done was 35kobo just like last year if @ all they can't increase it. not cutting back dividend. bulk of the earning you see as PAT is gotten from financial derivatives and fix(paper, imaginary profit (% wise)) just like agricultural companies gain from revaluation of biological asset. others have as well but not as significant as access. well I no too get time. Happy weekend |

There are few stocks that can have good dividend yield and payout ratio of 20.5% and 80% respectively. only NPF microfinance bank and smufit (smart products) that can move close or surpass it,but very illiquid stocks.
once again kudos to UCAP for the good result and cooperate action |
