Politics / Re: Igbos Can Only Get Presidency Through APC – Ex-Senator, Utazi by InvertedHammer: 1:25pm On Apr 02
/
I don't see why Igbo people should be interested in the Presidency when the only beneficiaries of the position are the President, his families and cronies.

The tribes that had produced the Presidents in the last 20 years are not doing any better than Igbo people. There is still pervasive poverty and insecurity in Katsina. Iragbiji is not the new Dubai. Obasanjo's Ota is barely economically viable. Emi lokon has turned to Ebin pawa o in less than 1 year. So what exactly is the benefit of the masses other than the politicians using their heads to break coconuts?

Regarding Africa, Why not embrace technology (mechanization) to the maximum from around 20%-30% we current do before running to GMOs?
/
Most of the grains they share are GMOs.
One noticeable thing about us is the quest to embrace anything introduced from the West. While people are shying away from carcinogenic pizza, noddles, etc; we embraced it with open hands. China is ever willing to dump edible rubbish in our markets knowing that NAFDAC is overstretched. Then we have our brothers ganish it with all kinds of Bitters in the market.
Anyone with the fund should invest heavily in Dialysis machines. Kidney problems are here to stay.

Is the groundnut and plantain chips worth your security of life?

Someone may carelessly eat them in the car and pass out (if laced with something funny) and end up in kidnappers' den.

Drive your passenger to the destination safely. People should refrain from accepting edible materials unnecessarily
in this trying times. As Nigeria stands now, it is best to err on the side of caution.

/

That's the kind of abracadabra they use to keep the gullible masses poor and hopeful. In that year, they blamed Abokifx. After a few months of reprieve, naira sunk to a new low. It was way later that folks learned about the underhand dealings of Emefiele. This year they have switched to Binance and BDC operators. The result will be vivid a year or two years from now. Until then, it is the same ol' shakara.

/

The people were left to decide and they chose Trump.

There are things about Trump that resonate with people including moi. Remarkably the blacks are waking up to the reality that all Democrats have to offer them is fish instead of pushing them to learn how to fish.

From all available evidence beyond emotions and propaganda, Trump is the lesser of two evils. People need to get out from their emotions. Dolton city mayor played that emotional game and the people are now left to bear the brunt. The same goes for those who supported Tinubu out of sentiment. The rain is beating everyone equally.

You cannot criticize Bobrisky and his lifestyle but support the man who is pushing the agenda unto Africans and children.

All it takes sometimes is a trip to a standard library to do some research away from all the social media noise

Stop lying. They didn't offload at that time because they fully expected it to reach 2500 to 3000 . That was why there was scarcity of dollars at the time. They were badly burned and many are still holding.
Only tears await them because Tinubus plan is for a stable economy where the naira is not defended with dollars so when the time comes and it goes low,it says low and the wailing in the country will be great.Something to look forward to. I hate unpatriotic fools.
/
That's their problem. My average offload was N1790 and I stopped work when cement hit N13k/bag. Blame those who play games they don't understand especially the ones who always jump based on herd mentality.

Rule 1: Once the noise becomes too loud and everyone is talking about anything, be ready to dump
the thing and run for the hills.

Business / Re: CBN Raises Benchmark MPR By 200 Basis Points To 24.75% by InvertedHammer: 4:42am On Mar 28
Elliotwaveforec:

I asked you a simple question, if you were the CBN governor, would you prioritise growth over price stability?

Monetary police to tackle inflation; and fiscal policy to tackle economic stagnation! And that's what the CBN is doing and they are on the right path.

Ensure price stability first and then start measures to spur growth.
/
1. Reduce interest rates to bare minimum to spur growth. SMEs are the engine of third world economy.

2. CBN printed trillions of naira since 2020 that is not circulating in the country. The funds were given to their cronies that converted such to foreign currencies domiciled in foreign banks. They printed so much money yet there is no money in circulation that banks had to resort to rationing available funds. Go figure!

Nigeria is not working because people choose to embrace the rhetorics of the people at the helm of affairs as the ultimate truth. Yet there has been no light at the end of the tunnel in 10 years.

Monetary policy. Fiscal policy. You are still reading too many textbooks. Policies must be tailored to local contents. IMF and World bank prescriptions rarely help any country. It is like taking financial advice from purveyors of loan apps.

Boeing 737 Max has tainted the image of Boeing so much that investors' confidence in Boeing is at all time low. Imagine a plane that the engineers that built it testified that they or their loved ones will never fly in it.

However, Boeing is taking steps through corporate overhaul, prioritizing engineering process over shareholders' interests, etc to turn the tide. But only people with suicidal ideation should contemplate getting on B737 Max cool Before you buy that plane ticket, verify the model of plane you are taking to avoid untimely reunion with your ancestors.
