No qualms. They are arming themselves with heavy artillery while their Southern counterparts are told to continue fasting and praying that Jesus and God of Israel will protect them. Then you wonder why they can brazenly sack villages in SE/SW. No sane military battalions would want to confront them. The only solution for now is aerial bombardment. But all of us know how that goes.

The irony of life!

Nigerian christians are all over the place shouting "God of Israel" and "Jesus Christ".

Candace Owens was just fired from a Jewish establishment "DailyWire" for saying that "Christ is King"

Go figure! Isrealis are not Christians and they admit it publicly in words and deeds that they don't recognize Jesus Christ
as the son of God. They only know one God and his name is Yahweh. But who will educate the impressionable Africans?

Ignorance is bliss.

Business / Re: CBN Raises Benchmark MPR By 200 Basis Points To 24.75% by InvertedHammer: 11:01pm On Mar 26
Elliotwaveforec:

So, economic growth is the only macroeconomic challenge Nigeria has, right? What about inflation, price stability, etc.?

In this present economic situation, which of the challenges needs to be prioritised? Don't you think when the exchange rate is stable, there would be confidence in the economy and price would stabilise as the number one cause of inflation in Nigeria today is weak exchange rate? I hope you know it's not only monetary policy that can be used to spur growth? Fiscal policy is available too!
/
While we shout "inflation", it will be proactive to understand the causes of inflation in Nigeria --insecurity begets food inflation as kidnappers prevent farmers from unhindered access to their farms. Let's not delve into abrupt removal of oil subsidy without planning ahead for palliatives. Floating of naira when the country is heavily import-dependent with no production/manufacturing base and the only major source of forex known as oil is marred by corruption and theft. Even in the forex transactions, corruption via arbitrage and prebendalism are the orders of the day. What's the nation's foreign reserve?

As noted earlier, what Cardoso and team are doing is akin to signing up Nasarawa United FC to play in the English Premier League. A child must learn to walk first before attempting to run.

The current problem in Nigeria is not inflation but stagflation--inflation in a stagnant economy.

He used the prescription for asthma in Europe to try to cure cancer in Zimbabwe. In other words, he is using the textbook implementation (increase rate to mop excess liquidity) used by Western developed economies to fix Nigeria's voodoo economy. Comparatively Japan (the 4th largest economy in the world) just increased their monetary policy rate from negative to 0 - 0.1% and that's the first rate hike in 17 years. China's prime rate remains unchanged at 3.95%.

Perhaps someone can explain how a poor country trying to spur economic growth will increase her MPR to 24.75% Shylock rate. Nigerian economy is in coma and Cardoso is feeding it Sniper to quicken her death.

Waste of time, money and effort.

Nigerian institutions do not have competent prosecutors against big corporations or powerful politicians. I doubt if they know how to collect, protect and preserve evidence. The best they can do is raid MTN's office in the usual gestapo zombie style. What came out of the shakara raid of Okorocha's house by EFCC? After all the drama, Dino is living freely in Nigeria today and was even cleared to contest in a gubernatorial election in Kogi State.

The case will be thrown out.

LOL. Apparently you don't know how Nigeria works. Policy implementation is the greatest challenge. All these are just bandaid approach to stabilizing naira.

Jerome Powell signalled that the Fed will cut US interest rate three times this year and that definitely will help the naira. But then with US equities at all time high, risk aversion will support the US dollars. Overall, I am fully betting against the naira because Nigeria is fully import dependent. N1265 is still far cry from N700. cool

A government that means well should first of all check the activities of real estate agents. It is wickedness for fees to be equal or sometimes greater than the actual rent. It seems that there is no regulation in place. Agent's fee must not exceed 5% of the rent. Caution fee must not exceed 5% of the rent. Attorney's fees? Are you kidding me? cool

Easy question to answer The Northernerization of the educational system in Nigeria. The Muslims North through a by-product of their religion, never put a value on educational achievement so they have now imposed that ideology on the rest of the country. The predictive indicator in determining the welfare of a country is to look at the country's composition percentage of Muslims. Once the percentage is over 40% that country's welfare will be abysmal. In Europe, France is on track to that status. I ain't got nothing against Muslims I am just giving you facts.

/

So it is the Northerners that forced Osibanjo (Ph.D) to play second fiddle to Buhari (WASC)? I guess it was the fault of Northerners that Ekwueme (Ph.D) chose to be the Vice President to Shagari (NCE). The major blame lies with the southerners that belittle themselves by bowing to people not qualified to be their maiguard if merit is the yardstick.

I was hoping that holy spirit and archangels will do the battle instead of policemen. Or the pastors haven't heard of Elijah and the prophets of Baal? When Thomas doubted Jesus in the Bible, he didn't arrest nor intimidate him. He showed him some evidence and he confirmed. That's all.

All the pastors have to do is cure any of the bedridden celebrities and prove naysayers wrong. When sick celebrities come, they raise funds for them for medical treatments in India. I guess their miracles only work on unknown and unverifiable patients.

They are just content creators online. There are no miracles involved.

I copied you guys cos like Grandstar, I largely enjoy the intelligence you typically display in your posts and in my interactions with you, even tho on some thing we may not agree (which is normal).

Phew this is gonna be a long one. Ok let me take it line by line

1. ApC is the problem. All indices you can think of compared to 2015 shows this clearly. There is no absolving APC from the mess Nigeria is in today, and trying to do so is simply not a truthful thing to do.

2.Yes Bubu was clueless, stupid in fact. But even I voted for him in 2015 ONLY cos I expected one thing and one thing only from him. Fighting corruption! Due to the so called no-nonsense person wey dem talk say e be back in the day. I know a tree doesn't make a forest, so I reckoned the team that would surround him can take care of the rest. I was wrong. And so yes Buhari was stupid, and was surrounded by people who apparently also were stupid including Tinubu according to you...cos all these people enabled him for 8 freaking years. They all contributed to the rot and decay that they are now supposedly cleaning. Ain't that funny...

3. I already showed you that Bubari/Emefiele floated the naira.

4. In our peculiar situation, I'd say the results we saw in 2015/2016 and the one we are seeing now shows clearly that it is a bad idea to undertake both big steps at once. I maintain my stand that subsidy should have been removed, but the naira should have been defended at least until some stability is achieved, as per Dangote and one or more other refineries running before making another big move in the form of the float.

5. They are telling y'all it's cos of the ways and means, but I know for a fact it goes deeper than that. Ways and means is a cool bad label to give the dog you wanna hang, but beyond ways and means the reason for the inflation aside the cost inflation due to the devaluation, is the excessively huge unbanked money that Emefoole was trying to mop up with the redesign policy at the tail end of the last administration. Do you remember the estimated figure of that unbanked money? Look it up. That money that was stockpiled for years and kept completely out of the banking system and meant to be used for electioneering, ended up not being used cos they rallied Nigerians to kill that laudable policy and that money is what is now causing a double whammy..on one hand most of it was being exchanged for USD causing the naira fall, and on the other hand causing the inflation too. But of course they won't remind you of that money, they will only touch on ways and means.

6. YEA YEA, the inflation rate and the MPR I understand the dynamics of that. But bear in mind it is a double edged sword. Too high and it could mean businesses that take loans would have to pay back above 30%....that is insanely high cost of capital don't you agree....but the useless banks rarely even lend to the real sectors and SMEs anyway👎

7. At least we both agreed that Cardunce-o is a dunce, and we also agree that this administration are grossly insincere, grossly inconsistent and simply cannot be trusted cos there is a wide variation between what they say and what they do, and what they say they do/are doing/have done (I'm actually surprised you admit this one).

8. Companies are pulling out due to dwindling revenues horribly compounded by devaluation losses, and consequently an ever increasing cost of doing business

/
A country of 240million subjugated by 1000 politicians, who is to blame? It means the problems go beyond the politicians. The national orientation was done in the wrong direction. Anyone born since 1980 in Nigeria has no idea of what good governance means even if shoved in his or her face. That's why they eulogize and canonize any governor that builds pedestrian bridges or pays salaries on time. Go figure!

For a currency to be negative 100, it means that you holding the currency is you owing in USD, which is impossible.

In the book of Common sense and economic report, (+) is appreciation while (-) indicates depreciation. Eg. BTCUSD (-5%) means it depreciated 5% at the reporting time compared to the previous close level.

When you console your atheist mind finish let's know.

But for a reminder, we're exporting Christian faith back to them, go and ask about the numbers of Nigerian/African churches in the so called countries, you'll be shocked.

Apart from that, go and check the statistics of the priests, pastors, Bishop and co in these countries before you console yourself with this falacy.
/
You are exporting private jobs that they are not interested in filling because they need those unproductive priests/pastors to function as part-time counselors (and not purveyors of miracles). As a matter of fact, they are interviewed and hired as employees and not as omniscient-cum-omnipotent Daddy G.O. Most of them including Rev. Fathers have other jobs too outside of the church. Nigeria is a classic example that churches and their activities is a total rubbish. I don't believe in talking people out of their idiocy. I always believe that Nigerians can only learn the hard way like our brother that they almost milked to death until he restored his brain to the factory setting.

I strongly believe that God disconnected Nigeria from his(?) prayer network a long time ago. That's why everything in that country only works in reverse both ethically and logically. Now you know why the more they pray, the more difficult things become.
