Now we have someone talking about respect. So many people insulted GEJ and no one dared to preach respect. I guess those Yorubas and Northerners that Insulted GEJ were also from the land that wake up their fathers with a blow. Don't use that line to subtly coerce people into respecting and supporting Buhari. |

agabusta: The people that took over in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Nigeria Intelligence Agency are civil servants. They are not political appointees.
They are the most senior civil servants. And the most senior was requested to take over in Acting capacity. If he bypassed the most senior now, it will lead to another uproar. Yeah he will conveniently avoid such uproar when a Northerner is involved but wouldn't give a Bleep when a southerner is by passed. Remember appointing Daura as DSS DG and Hammed Ali as Customs Comptroller General. In both cases they were pulled out of retirement. morscino: I was only replying someone who claimed buhari is replacing xtians with muslims, just like d loose mouth ffk is insinuating.
now this is d superior argument,d two appointees are d most senior in d said offices, and are only in acting capacity pending d time d investigations would be concluded. Most senior when Northerners/favoured candidates are involved |

HungerBAD: Interesting.
That they both got suspended should not be News at all. What did not make the headlines, was that they were not lead away in Handcuffs, especially that Oke fellow.
The story of this Oke will not be complete, if we do not talk about Goodluck Jonathan and his level of daftness. How can a whole $43.4million just disappear from the coffers of Nigeria, and nobody, i mean, no SINGLE soul noticed that such money had gone missing in Jonathan's Government?and yet some still call for his return.
Wow. Really?i mean really?how many other $43.4million is still out there?i mean, how can a group of people(ALL IN THE PDP) just take a blood oath that they will loot Nigeria to the ground by all means. Matter of fact, SGF Babachir Lawal looks like a Saint, as compared to these other thieves.
This fight against corruption will not be complete until David Mark, Bukola Saraki,Anthony Anenih,Patience Jonathan,Tompolo, and Pius Anyim return back their own version of the $43.4million,that they are helping Nigeria to keep in a safe house somewhere.
Who knows?maybe the EFCC should even check Ini Edo's house, just in case Senator Akpabio left his own $43.4million version there for safe keeping on behalf of Nigeria.
Once again, Buhari has shown the world that he has little patience for corruption.
Buhari Today. Osibanjo Tomorrow. Last last them don send in Alert for Arrears, you no go let us hear word with your BS. Same fools that insulted the senate for indicting the SGF are now working so hard to make the Coconut headed Illiterate president look like an Anti-corruption Czar for merely suspending him. Ngozi123: Nope. Everyone I know from that region is a proud Igbo person, both within and without my family. Some people may act like that but not all .
Can you imagine me of all people denying my Igbo heritage? No way. I agree with you, while not all Aniocha might support Biafra (Same among the Igbos across the Niger) most that I know including myself have no problem being called one. The denial sometimes comes from the attitude of the Igbos across the Niger to them, some idiots would refer to them as "Awusa Igbo" same treatment they give those from Ebonyi. |

Afam4eva: If you're from the Onitsha axis, they'll tell you that you're Anioma with links to bini
Personally, if i had my way, we should just cut off everyone from Delta and Rivers state. This insults are just too much. We have left more pressing issues to give some insignificant small groups the effrontery to act more important than they are. I've started becoming very wary of any so called Igboid person from Delta or Rivers state. The original settlers of Onitsha were part of the Umu Ezechima. The Aniocha/Oshimili despite links to Bini over time through war and other influences have no problem identifying with the Igbos. The Ukwuani's can be funny at times but the denial is more among the Ikas. To me, the entire Anioma can be generally grouped as Igbos or Ibos. The annoying ones, who the Igbos should be wary of are the Ikwerres, their aggressive denial, evident way back in the civil war and their daily denials shows they can not be fully trusted. They speak Igbo, live like Igbos but deny being one. Those from Bonny and Opobo, on the other hand speak Igbo, used as the main language for trade then but still retain their Igbani identity in their names, Chieftaincy title, their House style common among the Ijaws. |
Politics › Re: South-East & South-South Summit Holds In Owerri Today by invisibeTroll: 3:14am On Apr 20, 2017 |
fratermathy: I don't really care about this summit because it is not the first and won't be the last. So far, nothing has been done. South-South minorities like us never fail to realise that the Nigerian nation recognises only THREE ETHNIC GROUPS (IGBO, YORUBA, HAUSA)! The rest of us are like pawns and the nearest neighbour, being the Igbo, never fail to use us to their advantage, with sinister motives or not. I don't want to go into the politics of this forceful SS/SE union but I want to make some facts clear here as an Urhobo/Isoko, a Deltan and a SSner.
1. Obaino860 declared on this thread that SS is 90% Igbo and that all SS groups, including IJAW, speak Igbo and bear Igbo names. That is a blatant lie. It is lies like this that make us mistrust the Igbo motive in our affairs. In the SS, ONLY Delta North (Anioma) and Rivers (except Ijaw, Andoni and Ogoni) have connections with Igbo in any way. These people do not even make up to 20% of the entire SS region so where then have Obaino860 gotten this fact from? Urhobos/Isokos speak their own mutually intelligible languages that ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO IGBO EVEN REMOTELY, Ijaws speak numerous mutually unintelligible languages that ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO IGBO, Ogonis speak their own mutually unintelligible languages that ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO IGBO, the Ibibiod ethnic cluster speak their own mutually intelligible languages that ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO IGBO, Ekoi/Bette-Bendi/Ejagham and other Cross Riverian groups speak mutually unintelligible languages that ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO IGBO, even some so-called Delta/Rivers Igboid groups, like Ukwuani, CLAIM to have their own languages! On the issue of onomastics, the aforementioned groups, exceptions maintained, have no names that are similar to Igbo names. If there are any of such, it is pure happenstance and they definitely mean different things. Even culturally, the SS non-Igboid groups HAVE NOTHING in common with Igbo. This status quo is maintained politically and otherwise.
2. The SS/SE have every right to meet and talk about their future, just as the SS has same rights to do so with the SW, from whence many of the Edo/Delta groups politically evolved from. There is NOTHING special about this meeting. It is simply a political move engineered mostly by the SE, hence the Owerri location. The SS groups have different struggles from the SE. Although some of our struggles (such as true federalism) may overlap, we ultimately have different problems and aspirations. No matter how much we look at it, Igbo remains a MAJORITY ethnic group in Nigeria and thus, directly or indirectly, its people have joined the rest of the country to loot the SS region of its natural resources.
3. TippyTop, and many others, opined that the SS (especially the former Mid-Western Region) look up to the SE! This is another provocative lie to massage the Igbo ego. The former Mid-Western region comprises modern day Delta and Edo States and the people of these states, save for the 30% Anioma people in Delta and 1%(?) Ika in Edo, are IN NO WAY related to the SE politically, culturally or otherwise. In fact, I can assertively state that the South West and the North hold more influence in the SS (especially Edo/Delta States) than the SE does. This is especially true of our migratory patterns. Urhobos, for instance, NEVER migrate to the SE except something IMPORTANT takes them there. This contrasts greatly with the SW, where we have settled in large numbers. Same applies for Isoko, our sister tribe, and the pan-Edo groups. In fact, it is Igbos that settle in our areas.
4. The SE should start by getting its acts right and putting its house in order before extending whatever hands of friendship they want to. It also behoves the SSners to define THEIR FUTURE BY THEMSELVES!!! No group/region was appointed as our mouthpiece. In fact, no pan-SS group CAN EVER speak for the individual groups in the SS region. Each to his own tent. The only thing that binds us all together is the geopolitical term "South-South"! Consequently, the said summit that this thread informs us of is simply the device of a FEW people who have their own intents. As an Urhobo, I only pay allegiance to Urhobo Progress Union (UPU). Any other socio-political or economic group that claims to speak on behalf of my group is simply delusional!
5. On the issue of Biafra, which someone brought up, almost all the ethnic groups in the SS, including Urhobo (UPU), have made their stand clear on this. There is no need beating around the bush. Biafra is an IGBO ONLY affair and I support it wholeheartedly. Take your Igboid groups if they want but never extend your reach beyond your borders to drag actively or passively uninterested groups into it without proper consultations with the designated mouthpieces of these groups.
Finally, I stand for unity at all times. Nigeria, as a nation, needs unity. If this means that we have to extend hands of friendships to our closest neighbours, then we should. However, we must draw the line between unity and hegemony. When larger groups attempt to hegemonise smaller groups, caution must be applied. In Nigeria, political interest is all that matters. As it is now, the SS and SE have different political interests. Any act of unity is done simply by virtue of the NIGERIAN CAMARADERIE SPIRIT!!!!, NOTHING ELSE!!! So all those cogitating deeply on the said summit should stop reading meanings to things that are not there.
Semper Fi!!!
***If you quote me to spew bigoted bunkum, I will use your own medicine against you. Most of the points raised above can be said to be valid only for the Edo/Delta group. SS is more of a political group consisting of all tribes or groups outside Yoruba or Igbo. This explains why you have places like Fugar that is a lot more closer to Okene than Aba is to the Atlantic being considered as SS and places like Ikom and Ogoja that are closer to the North while at the same time located to the east of the supposedly SE. Many of the tribes grouped under this region have little or no direct relationship with themselves. For instance, from the best of my knowledge, the Igbos have long interactions with many of the tribes in the eastern part of the Niger than those tribes having with the Binis. I can hardly remember any direct interaction of the Efik with the Binis. Same applies to the relationship between the Binis having closer ties to the Yorubas than the Ogonis. I totally agree with you on this, the same way they hardly (you don't use never) migrate to anywhere else east of PH city yeah I mean the city not the state. There are very few Urhobos in Bori, Ikot Abasi, Opobo, etc. |

Above is the simple truth about the money. It was stashed in that house and used to finance PDP's 2015 election. What was discovered is the remaining from the 2015 election and the plan is to use it to finance 2019 election of PDP.
Ameachi, Muazu, Esther Nnamdi, Peter Obi and Mo Abudu who were all linked in one way or the other have all issued statement to the press distancing themselves from the money. When will Jonathan also clear his name from the mess? NIA had alleged that he gave them the money, Nigerians want him to come out and confirm or deny the allegation. na today dem begin accuse am carelessly? Abeg leave matter for mathais jor. "He said that the mosque marked for demolition was being attended by many Muslim worshipers, a development which he said was very risky in the event of any fire accident." Makes some sense, so Gov. Ayo Fayose has brain like this
- Anyway as caring government, he should provide the following. (1) 2 nos of tankers 5,000litres of water whenever there is public worship at the religious centre (2) 1 standard fully equipped hospital for treating burns and fire-related incidents close to the religious centre (3) Ensure there are no sales of petroleum products during the worship time at the religious centre.
