hello house...ive been here for a while now reading through the posts to help me make my decision btw Canada and Australia.i initially wanted to try the Australian route but the requirement for lawyers is really daunting, so i decided to switch to canada since i dont need to be admitted/licensed as a canadian lawyer(hope im right tho) to be eligible for immigration. please i need someone to help put me through the WES thing, i have created an account on WES but i have a few questions 1. is WES the appropriate body to assess a lawyer's credentials? 2. i chose western union as the payment route but i just noticed i have to pay in dollars which is a far cry from the CAD-NGN amount i initially did, omo i no fit o. Can i change my payment option? also can anyone help me out on the best way to go about this WES payment? i will register for IELTS this week and send my Law school and University transcripts this week too. Any tip will be appreciated May we all be successful IJN. NB: where's d champagne *in Falz voice* to welcome me |

i just found out an exciting piece of info , i previously thought and as a result posted here that i needed to write IELTS before i could even have my documents assessed but i found out now (from rereading the rules for legal practitioners) that i only require IELTS for admission to practice law, not for assessment, turns out assessment is a prerequisite for admission. well God-willing when i reach there i'll have a go at it. so am guessing the next step is assessment? pls can anyone help point me in the right direction? cc: Johnsontade bros i need your help again o NB: am considering other alternatives to IELTS. A test with ease and lack of human prejudice will be just fine. |

johnsontade: Thhank you so much. You have been most helpful. What I meant really was if you know any Nigerian lawyer that has successfully migrated under PR. I checked d SLAA's requirements for the admission of foreign lawyers and the IELTS requirement is staggering a band of 8....and writing must be 8. God save my dear soul with d kind of examiners I hear they have at British council 1 Like |

@Johnsontade if your Assessing Authority says you have to score. A certain score in IELTS must it be IELTS or will any other test they accept suffice? I.e SAT/TOFL? |

DavidEsq: Pls I hope you realize there's something called the doctrine of necessity and it's relevance to this situation as it applies to the setting up of the presidential committee? I hope you do realize also, that the law is more of the exception than the general rule? So do not mislead the public who ultimately look up to the legal profession for clarification. |

Ogbeche10: Well...if Efosa was just disseminating info...I assure you that no one would bother him. I hope we all understand that impersonation is a serious offence? So what we should be asking ourselves is: If he isn't a cadet officer why will he say he is and to what end?? All he needs to do is establish that he's a genuine cadet officer like he claims to be...and everything will be fine. I don't want someone to come here and deceive innocent pple! 2 Likes |

Also Oga big man there's nothing wrong in displaying ur NIS number...so you can write it here...Nobody hides their number in the service. But u must be a special kind of recruit to already have ur NIS I'D card! So you went to kano? Pls can you tell us what ITSK really looks like and some of the things that happened while we were there? NB:pls leave God alone...If you were really God fearing...you won't even utter a single word of insult...Now you think that by calling God people will be bullied into silence and won't question you? Smh! Nigerians and useless sentiments. Oga answer the questions please! 2 Likes |

abimbawealth: Yeah I would have...but sometimes you owe yourself a duty to speak the truth. It's really funny how some people convince themselves that they were better than others with that kind of English. Even if we were all geniuses(which is not exactly the case) NIS will still not take us all. There are a thousand ways to contrive an excuse for failure/ill luck(well..i had to add that, since they are now forcing us to accept it's sheer luck that got us selected)..but this is just below the belt biko! |
