For those of you crying for Tinubus files to be released but don't want Epstein s files released you're part of the problem. |
Disagreements between Donald Trump and Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene have ballooned into a public feud, signalling a breakdown in relations between the US president and one of his fiercest defenders. On Friday, Trump called Greene "wacky" in social media posts and said she should be unseated in next year's elections. On Saturday, he called her a "traitor". Greene has in recent days questioned whether Trump was still putting "America First" and criticised his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files. The feud comes as the House is set to consider whether to release the files to the public. "All I see "Wacky" Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!" Trump posted on Friday night, claiming that she turned on him after he suggested that she shouldn't run for governor or senator in her home state of Georgia. "She has told many people that she is upset that I don't return her phone calls anymore," Trump said, adding: "I can't take a ranting Lunatic's call every day." He pledged to back any Republican opponent that takes her on in next year's midterm elections, when she is up for reelection, before intensifying his attacks in social media posts on Saturday from his home in Florida. "Marjorie 'Traitor' Green [sic] is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!" he wrote. The comments follow days of criticism from Greene, who has said that Trump is not doing enough to bring down costs for voters. She also denounced his recent decisions in foreign conflicts and on tariff policies. But she has been most critical of his approach to handling the Epstein files. The turnaround is remarkable for a lawmaker who stood by Trump during multiple scandals, most notably the Capitol riot in 2021 when Trump supporters stormed the US legislature in an attempt to block Trump's election defeat. The US president also vigorously defended Greene when she was accused of promoting antisemitic conspiracy theories. Greene is one of only four House Republicans who joined Democrats in signing a discharge petition calling for the release of the Epstein files last week. On Friday, Greene posted on X that Trump was trying to stop other Republicans from voting in favour of the Epstein petition. "He's coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files," she posted, adding: "It's astonishing really how hard he's fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level." She returned to X on Saturday to say Trump had made her a target for threats "fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world". "As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump's bills and agenda, his aggression against me... is completely shocking to everyone," she wrote. "I don't worship or serve Donald Trump," she wrote in one post. "I worship God, Jesus is my savior, and I serve my district GA14 and the American people." Former Republican pollster and strategist Robert Moran said it was clear the US president did not want the Epstein files to be released and "is trying to pressure" Greene. Mr Moran doubted the row would affect Trump's popularity as the electorate was so divided, but said it was inevitable the files would eventually come out. "Many of his voters are sceptical of power and so they want power to be held to account, and they support the release of these files," he added. Trump has long faced criticism from both parties over his handling of the US Department of Justice files related to Epstein, the late financier and convicted paedophile. Trump was a friend of Epstein's for years, but the US president has said they fell out in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9wv4dx05q5o.amp

The BBC has asked the Kenyan government for comment.Kenya has from time to time proven to be a rogue government. Nnamdi Kanus rendition comes to mind. What a mess. |
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says there will be an investigation into the "mysterious" arrival of a chartered plane carrying 153 Palestinians from Gaza into the country. The group arrived at OR Tambo International Airport but were initially refused entry and were stuck in the plane for more than 10 hours as they "did not have the customary departure stamps in their passports", local authorities said. Most were eventually allowed in after intervention from a local charity and because of the government's "empathy [and] compassion", Ramaphosa said. The circumstances of their departure from Gaza and travel to South Africa remain unclear. South Africa has maintained strong support for the Palestinian cause throughout the war between Hamas and Israel in Gaza. Ramaphosa said the group "somehow mysteriously were put on a plane that passed by Nairobi" and flew to South Africa, reports the News24 site.Israeli military body Cogat, which controls Gaza's crossings, said in a statement: "The residents left the Gaza Strip after Cogat received approval from a third country to receive them." It did not specify the country. According to the Palestinian embassy in South Africa, the group left Israel's Ramon Airport and flew to the country via the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, "without any prior note or coordination". A statement from the embassy said "an unregistered and misleading organization [had] exploited the tragic humanitarian conditions of our people in Gaza, deceived families, collected money from them, and facilitated their travel in an irregular and irresponsible manner". The BBC has asked the Kenyan government for comment. Of the 153, 23 managed to fly on to other destinations, leaving 130 who were admitted into the country, South African authorities say. Ramaphosa, speaking during an event in Johannesburg, said he was informed of the unfolding crisis by the home affairs minister."Even though they do not have the necessary documents and papers, these are people from a strife-torn, a war-torn country." The president also told reporters the South African government would carry out a "proper evaluation" of the matter and update the public on "what is happening and how this matter came to be where it is", according to public broadcaster SABC. Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber said that while Palestinian passport-holders qualified for 90-day visa-exempt access to South Africa, the lack of departure stamps, return tickets or accommodation addresses in some of the travellers' documentation resulted in the initial refusal to let them into the country. Once it was established that the absence of this information "did not indicate that the travellers wished to apply for asylum" and their accommodation was confirmed, they were granted entry. "All of the travellers are in possession of valid passports and, at present, none of them have applied for asylum," he said. South African charity Gift of the Givers has said it will provide the group with accommodation in the country. Civil societies in South Africa have called for investigations into the conditions the Palestinians had fled in Gaza and the exact route of the aircraft. One of the Palestinians who spoke to local eNCA TV expressed his relief to be in South Africa, describing it as a country of "peace, laws and justice". "We came from Gaza where we've faced death on daily basis. We have survived a war of two years and we are lucky to be here," said one man who had fled with his wife and two children. Gift of the Givers has since called for Ramaphosa to investigate the home affairs ministry and border authority for the "humiliation they've caused" the Palestinians. The organisation's founder Dr Imtiaz Sooliman said this treatment included being forced to wait for hours on the tarmac at the airport, being denied food provided by the group and "using every excuse in the book to prevent these passengers from disembarking". South Africa has been highly critical of Israel's military operation in Gaza. The country's sympathy for the Palestinian fight for an independent state goes back decades, particularly the early 1990s when anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela pledged support for the Palestinian cause. Large pro-Palestinian marches have been held around South Africa since the conflict began. Smaller pro-Israel marches and rallies have been held in the country, which hosts the largest Jewish community in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2023, the South African government filed a case against Israel with the International Court of Justice, accusing it of genocide in Gaza. Israel has strongly rejected the South African claim, calling it "baseless". https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3dn3g4jdxjo.amp

President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Wednesday that the United States’ decision to boycott the G20 summit in South Africa later this month would not prevent the meeting of the world’s leading economies from going ahead. Pretoria and Washington have clashed over a range of policy issues, including South Africa’s summit agenda, culminating in President Donald Trump announcing over the weekend that no US official will attend the Johannesburg gathering. “We will take fundamental decisions, and their absence is their loss,” Ramaphosa told reporters in the coastal city of Cape Town. “In many ways, the United States is also giving up the very important role that they should be playing as the biggest economy in the world,” he added. Set for November 22–23, the summit marks the first time the G20 will convene on African soil. South Africa, the current G20 chair, wants to use its presidency to champion Global South priorities, including boosting climate resilience and tackling debt in developing countries, before handing the baton to the United States next year. The US has labelled South Africa’s theme of “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability” as “anti-American.” “They’ve chosen to boycott, and boycotting never achieves anything of great impact, because decisions will be taken that will move the various issues ahead,” Ramaphosa said, alluding to a decision on the cost of debt, a hot-button issue for developing nations. Trump has singled out South Africa for criticism on a number of issues since returning to the White House in January, notably making debunked claims that white Afrikaners were being systematically “killed and slaughtered” in the country. He confronted President Ramaphosa in the Oval Office earlier this year, playing a video alleging a campaign against white farmers by the post-apartheid government. South Africa’s government denies any such policy In May, Trump offered refugee status to Afrikaners, descendants of the first European settlers; the first group of around 50 was flown to the United States on a chartered plane. Pretoria has also faced criticism from the Trump administration over its case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and laws meant to empower black South Africans as part of efforts to redress inequalities inherited from apartheid. Founded in 1999, the Group of 20 (G20) leading economies comprises 19 countries and two regional bodies—the European Union and the African Union. The bloc represents 85 per cent of the world’s GDP and about two-thirds of its population https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/us-skipping-g20-summit-their-loss-says-south-africa-president/%3futm_source=auto-read-also&utm_medium=web&

Basicend:Trump can't entertain visiting presidents outside Oval office. Nigeria is in a bad shape aside the security aspect. The financial aspect like 419, romance scam and identt theft. So many things that will make tinubu look and feel stupid. |
I don't think now it's the time for tinubu meeting trump. Tinubu is not articulate enough. He will become a press punching bag. To many gaps in Tinubus defence that will work against him. |
Why are most African cities like full of waste. Africa should invest more on recycling technologies. To keep the continent healthy. |
10 November 2025 In just under a fortnight, leaders from some of the world's major economies will gather in South Africa's economic heartland, Johannesburg, for the G20 summit. But just a few kilometres from the spruced-up, highly secure venue is a city centre which the authorities are struggling to improve and keep safe. They face major challenges in cleaning up more than 100 derelict buildings, many plagued by rubbish and open sewage, some of which have been taken over by criminal gangs. "There's guns, there's drugs, there's prostitutes, there's everything here," said Nelson Khetani, resident of a building known as MBV1, located in Joubert Park. Neglect and a lack of maintenance have left vandalised communal kitchens stripped of their fittings, while overflowing human waste covers parts of what used to be the laundry area. Mr Khetani told BBC Africa Eye that rooms in MBV1 had been hijacked – a phenomenon where spaces or entire residential units are taken over and controlled by criminals to collect rent for themselves and, in some circumstance, provide a base for illegal activities. The state of the city was on the mind of President Cyril Ramaphosa when talking about the G20 summit to the city council in March. "I found the city filthy," he said. "It is a painful sight to go through the centre of the city… you have a number of abandoned buildings, buildings that have been hijacked, that are not paying your rates and taxes." Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero said at the time that the city was "ready to host the G20". Last month, as part of a "clean-up" campaign across Johannesburg, the city council said the inner city had been "targeted... for the systemic removal of pervasive lawlessness, illegal activities, hijacked properties, and critical by-law infringements". But the challenges ahead of the world event are huge. A fire at one of these derelict buildings that killed 76 people two years ago was supposed to spur people into action, but it seems not much has changed. The BBC visited another inner-city building, Vannin Court, where rooms were covered in dirt and strewn with litter. A strong smell of human faeces permeated the building. Resident Sinethemba Maqoma told the BBC that council-owned Vannin Court had been hijacked, and that the city council had cut off the water. "The municipality was angry about the crime from this building... that's why they took [away] the water," said another resident, Sinqhiwe Goodman Sithole. Johannesburg's city council did not respond to the BBC's request for comment about Vannin Court's water supply. There is also no electricity supply, Mr Maqoma said, adding that they use gas and solar lights. The lack of utilities means residents cook food using portable gas tanks to power stoves. But without water or fire extinguishers nearby, the fire risks are huge. Cars abandoned in the building's basement were partly submerged in human waste that was overflowing into an adjacent alleyway. Litter was floating on top of this slow-moving sludge of sewage. Mr Maqoma showed the BBC a dark, unsanitary bathroom with a toilet that he said he flushes by pouring a bucket of water down it. "When you flush [the toilet], it goes through to the basement," he said. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c993k9y2l4zo
