Eraytee: Good-day to everyone, i have a question, pls am about submitting my application for TRV, on my SOA is there any harm if I highlight my salary on the statement with a light marker? Pls ur contributions is highly welcome. please don't make any mark on the SOA to avoid unnecessary suspicion. That may amount to alteration. The VO has the duty of going through your soa diligently. Rather use LOE to explain your income. All the best |

Uzee24: Will it be safe for one to tender a document showing the money he intends to use to sponsor himself is invested with a bank, or must the money be in his account? What I mean is if I invest my sponsorship money in a fixed deposit or teasury bill with a bank and it would not mature before the application for my TRV, will the document showing that I have such funds invested somewhere and it will mature before I leave for school, be admissible by the VO as proof of fund or must the said money be in my account? I decided to ask the house because am on the verge of doing this. Fixed Deposit and Treasury Bills will fly 100% |

roblance: @Is2bEe what minimum amount do you think someone should have in his/her account for a 2years msc prog for visa stuff It is more straightforward when you have sponsor(s) because CIC website actually requires you show evidence of your tuition for 1st year + 10,000CAD. However, it gets more technical If you are self sponsor and going for a two year program. Then, it is adviceable you have balance in excess of two years tuition + 20,000CAD to cover your living expenses for the two years. In all, you must be able to prove the source of your income. Hope this answers your question |

Boss20: Thanks man, we bear same surname so it won't be difficult proving he's my uncle.
I appreciate. Good. Add his birth cert. I learnt the acceptable one is the one from NPC. If he doesnt have one, try process it for him. If you are in Lagos, it will take you 2 weeks to get one with less than 5K as the official fees. |

Boss20: Thanks man, I appreciate.
I can get my uncle's account statement and add to mine that will definitely surpass the expenses for the 2 years for the visa sake but I know I will be on my own once I get there because he can only get me SOA but definitely not money that's why am thinking of survival in the second year.
Hope you understand bro? That will be great bro. However, do well to prove relationship with your uncle.. You can use documents like birth certificate, marriage certs etc to do this. Also include affidavit of sponsorship and letter of sponsorship from your uncle stating the reason(s) he's sponsoring you and how much he will make available for your studies in Canada. All the best. |

Boss20: Good day gurus in the house.
I have been a silent follower of this thread for a long time.
I have just been admitted to the University of Saskatchewan for MASc degree in Chemical Engineering without funding for fall 2017 session.
Annual expenses is in the range of 20-25k CAD and its for 2 years.
Am self sponsored so i want to ask if i raise the money for the first year from here prior leaving will i be able to fund myself for the second year from hustling (Part time job) while studying?
Please a quick response from people with experience will be highly appreciated so i can take decision as regards the admission.
Thanks Boss, Please get co-sponsor(s) with verifiable income to show that they can fund your 2nd year. Pls dont make mistake of doing self sponsor for a two year program unless your account balance exceeds tuition fees + living expenses for the whole of the two years. I was self sponsor for a two year master program last year and was bounced for insufficient fund. If you have c-sponsors with you being the principal sponsor, it is enough if the combined account balance covers just the first year tuition + living expenses for one year. CIC don't encourage hustling to pay fees Please be careful about this. |

Blackanada: One question though. When she's applying for her visa (in like September) if I've gotten mine, will my dad list me as a dependent (I'm admitted to a fully funded program) ensure you list each other as siblings in the family form. It's better not to use the word "dependent" try to avoid it. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Is2bEe(m): 6:47pm On Feb 22, 2017 |
Blackanada: I need advice.
My sister plans to begin her masters next year january. In the mean time she's out of school and working.
Should my Dad list her as a dependent when I'm applying for visa? Or he doesn't need to since she hasn't began studies yet. your sister is out of school and working and surely over 18 years.... She's certainly NOT a dependent |

wealth360: Hmmmmmm. Remember ooooo. The money was transferred to the future applicant sister and from there the sister want to transfer to the applicant. we need to be careful about this. because if you use your her as sponsor how well is her account in term of money inflow and outflow? do not just use her account becos she transferred money to you. Please check the past 6 month of her account statement and make sure it is good anof for applying and then ask your sister if she has all things like the documents listed above. Goodluck This is a very good point. However, if the account of the sister is not strong enough in terms of balance or in-flow/out-flow, I believe the brother-in-law could still act as sponsor. All he has to do is provide evidence that he actually transferred the money to his wife's account first for her to later transfer it to the applicant. The sponsor's account and the applicant's account should show these transactions, I believe |

I'm a final year Ghanaian student studying actuarial science in China.I applied to Trent University in Peterborough earlier this year for my graduate degree(financial analytics:Quantitative finance) and I'm yet to hear of any concrete decisions taken in respect to my application. If I happen to secure an admission,do I have to go back to Ghana to apply for a visa/can I apply directly from China?. Im studying for and plan to take professional certificates related to the finance field, specifically FRM and CFA).Do you have any ideas about accommodation of foreigners in the finance industry in Canada? Thank you very much.Any advice is pre-appreciated. you can apply directly from China so far your study permit there is still valid. Ensure you add evidence of your immigration status in China in your application. Cheers |

If it is not panadol it can never be panadol!... Nothing like kind of related in cic dictionary oooo!!! Meanwhile, you may want to take chances but personally i do not think it's worth the gamble! If and when you secure a study permit and you MUST study HRM... we'll advise you further then. Regards though I have seen massive rejection for people going for HRM, I will like to remind you that these guys are mostly pgd(c) and not Masters. I believe a Master student of HRM stands a better chance if s/he puts in a good application. |

You are right bro. I just did further research. I had always had wrong info in this regard. I have learnt something today. Thanks to @Folaroyal and you |

Thanks. you can staple a document that has more than one page. Don't spiral bind cos Vac officials will still rearrange your documents. They will also put it in their own bag for transmission to Accra. |

adonai36: Gurus in the house, please what is the time line after medicals? Just linked the paper application with cic online account, and it shows medical passed! Will CIC sent an email requesting for other documents or just to keep checking the online account for further instructions. Thank you for your response in advance.
P.S: For people planning to stay back and get their PR after studies in Canada, please narrow your school search to the Atlantic Provinces (Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick). The Government of Canada just came up with a pilot project for graduates of schools from this province that enable them to get PR after studies. Please check this link for more information: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/atlantic/index.asp Thanks for this very important information. God bless you |

Gabrielclint: please can a cousin with a different surname serve as a sponsor and Pls what documents does he need to provide bro, I know how it feels when one's application is refused. But trust me it is not enuf to hurriedly put in another application because you feel time is running out. I am in your shoes cos I was also refused trv (masters) six months ago on the ground of insufficient funds... Why not first defer your admission to maybe fall 2017, apply for gcms to know the exact view of the vo, then apply later for trv. You can contact me on is2bee@yahoo.com to rub minds. Pls don't rush your application. It is not enough to just apply for the sake of it. You have to put in an application with a good chance of success |

Gabrielclint: good day all. received my passport today and it's so heart breaking I was rejected. REASON: insufficient funds to take care of me for my period of duration..
I submitted all my documents, paid school fees of 7600$ and had a closing balance of 8.5mil. I am self sponsored. pls what do u guys advice I do now very sorry about your refusal. Your account balance look pretty ok even for self sponsor. However i think the vo wasn't convinced about the source of your income. How fat is your salary to have such a closing balance. Did you try to explain in your application how you came accross such money in case your salary isnt a fat one. I advice you get your gcms note before reapplying. Try defer your admission to afford you time to address the situation. Also think about getting a co-sponsor (preferably family member that you can easily prove relationship with) the co-sponsor's balance doesn't have to be too fat in as much as he has steady and verifiable income. Don't be down..dust yourself up and do the needful. All the best. |

Ruth222: I also think the vo's know that after a student is done with school, he or she is entitled to pgwp (the number of years he/she studied)so if they are to issue you visa, they are going to give you the date your wife's pgwp will expire . But let's hear others opinions too . if he wants to rely on the wife's PGWP for his OPen work permit don't you think the wife must secure employment in certain category of occupation (NOC A or O). moyin1010: Hello house, am new here. Thanks to everyone. I just received my trv going for may session, please can my husband apply for a visit visa to accompany me with the intention of coming back to naija for now then later apply for spouse open work permit? I need help please hello, I advise you apply for open work permit for your husband and NOT "visit visa". From little research I have done, visit visa is rarely granted to spouse of students. Mostly refused on purpose of visit while open work permit is almost certain though might take a long time to process especially if you go online route. Please consider open work permit even if your husband doesn't have intention to stay there.... AND do paper route |
