Friend, and has such have never taken offense to it but rather seen it as a testament to the ignorance of those who use it. Unless someone wants to go back and tell bayajidda to change the meaning i refuse to let someone else define what a word in MY language should mean. People have such thin skins these days.

As for Kabila, its not a derogatory term as far as i'm concerned. People immediately get pissed off when you point out that they're different, its like calling a white person white and then he becomes agitated. If you dont call him that what should you call him? If you lot want to go about looking for reasons to be sensitive or feel victimized thats your business.
Go and tell those that brought dat topic on freedom radio kano some years back since you are more hausa than them.

So, Bayajidda from far arabiya was d real hausa man that founded hausalandgrin
His offsprings should have been Arabs not Hausas

The Hausas mostly used that word to discriminate other tribes( no b me first talk am na d hausas themselves).

It's a derogatory word depending on how it's used.

Haba @ishalbash everyone can be subjected to criticism but saying buhari bai yi komai ba ma tallaka is really overboard. This comment made me remember an incident in 2014......

Na je kwana gurin kakata a katsina ,lokacin sanyi ne and she is an avid listener of BBC Hausa morning segment(na asuba Mai archaic waka....lol) and on that programme their first report was an overnight attack by BH on a certain village, where they killed and slaughtered men, women and children...those lucky to escape ran into a watering place and hid.....when they were finally rescued matar DA akayi magana DA ita ,muryanta baya fita sosai dan sanyi ga zaman cikin ruwa nearly 3hrs.A lot of them drowned in the water mostly children... Ranar na yi kuka kamar idona zai fita here was I comfortably lying in my comforter while some women are losing their kids to either BH or Cold draughts.

When PMB relocated the military command ko control center to borno,it stratetegically changed the dynamics of the BH war.....

Now on Shiites-Nigerian army clash:
I CAN NOT ABSOLVE ANY PARTY FROM BLAME , but I know this;

1) why will a set of people cordon off an important road with out prior notice and consideration of abubuwan DA ke faruwa a Zaria rananhuh?
Who gave them the jurisdiction to do sohuh

2)The NA "used a sledge hammer to kill a mosquito"

3) That clash could have been averted if only both sides had exercised restraint

4) Zaria is an intellectual city with a high concentration of educational instirutions but still only just a LGA.....yan Shi'a were running a state within a LGA....kar ka manta idan suna zagaye a Zaria komai ya tsaya around their axis...so idan ka samu kanka a hanyar su sai dai ka hakura no matter the emergency... whether it is exams, childbirth, medical appointment etc dan ba Wanda ya isa ya ja DA su,za su Kira ma takfiri...
Ka ga bai kamata ba,babu wannan a musulinci.

5)THE GYALLESU INCIDENT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY A NEUTRAL THIRD PARTY AND ALL AT FAULT SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND SUBJECTED TO THE FULL WRATH OF THE LAW

#MAY THE SOULS OF THE INNOCENT LOST ON BOTH SIDES REST IN PEACE....AMEEN.
I already acknowledged pmb tried in terms of security in Borno and environs. But what about other states that killings are on d increase on daily basis.. Benue, Taraba, Zamfara etc..

You can't blame all past leaders excluding your tribesmen for destroying Nigeria.. That was the genesis of this argument ai.

Pmb has failed the masses in Nigeria.. Everything is hard for the poor masses. All his policies are affecting d masses more than anyone. Everything is at d increase; Food, water, Nepa, fuel even biscuits and chingums are not sparedgrin.. The same person who promised the masses heaven on earth was dsame person saying; ' the masses are impatient'. Or has he suddenly forgotten when he said.. Nigerians are not supposed to be buying fuel more than 45/litre during Gej's tenure when there was an increased in fuel price, but now when he's d minister of petroleum and d presido d prices have almost double and there's still queuegrin

What are they going to investigate again pertaining d GYALLESU midnight massacred when it's obvious; Buhari, Buratai and El rufai are masterminds behind d killings couple with some religious leaders who came out openly to praised d Govt for a job weldonegrin

I don't believe you ar from Jigawa if you Said you are discriminated against, unless u'r not a Muslim. Northwesterners don't discriminate against fellow Northerners based on Tribe, if u said they're prone to discriminate based on Religion Or State of Origin that I would agree with you.
Let assume am not from Jigawa and not a Muslim: Is it right to discriminate based on Religion?

Discrimination is discrimination even if it's not based on tribal- it's wrong besides, why do Hausas called non- Hausas KABILU?

I agree with everything you said there bar one.

I would like for you to research what happened during the Asian Financial Crises. Having an overvalued currency (Which the naira was) not only requires the exhaustion and maintenance of a large part of reserves and debt but also makes your currency prone to attack from speculators once they think your currency can't hold on much longer. Part of the reason our president had to liberate the currency a little when he came into power and part of the reason he has been able to increase our reserves.

Side Note: I find it very weird that he brought the Shiite incident seeing as he's a northerners himself and not that I harbour any animosity towards them but my thinking is that he's a Shiite himself and that's the source of his angers and bias.
what is the use of all those things on paper if the poor masses are still suffering even more than before?

mu gani a kasa ba wai mu gani a shafukan jaridu ba.

Am not a shi'te.. killing them especially at gyallesu was injustice and barbaric. Or are those innocent women, children and men also part of those that blocked Buratai?

It's one thing being tribalistic to people from the south and it's another being tribalistic to fellow northerners. I'm from the north west so I can only speak on what I know and from my experience we generally don't harbour such prejudices towards each other. In the north east however, that's a different story.
The northerners from d west are tribalistic too. I have had dat experience before, so am not talking based on hearsay. Mind you, am from Jigawa( NW).

Is Buhari embezzling money and funds from Nigeria like his GEJ and his wife did? Is he listening to Western powers to devalue the Naira like Babangida did? Please do not put me in the same ethnic-bigotry category as yourself. When Buhari first came into power, all he did was fight corruption. That is what he does today, however his methods are a bit antiquated for today's settings.
God knows best. but blaming nd abusing past leaders while removing Buhari just because he's your brother as a Fulani is an act of tribalism. Besides, which corruption is pmb fighting when d same pmb wanted to appoints a renowned past criminal( maina) if not for Nigerians that kicked against it.

pmb has failed just like past leaders in Nigeria nd his is even worse , cost Nigeria has never been in this kind of state before; everything is on d increase.. Even insecurity is alarming in dis administration apart from d impact he has in Borno, there's nothing to write home about in terms of security.

One of them must be corrupt.. I didn't see either of them on your list of those that destroyed Nigeria.
CultureRe: Real Hausa Native Names And Their Meanings by Isahalbash(m): 2:58am On Feb 16, 2018
Fulaman198:
Well the problem is most Nigerians are not the way you think they are. A lot of it is cultural. As you know certain ethnic groups behave differently from others, so there is no "one Nigerian behaviour fits all" kind of thing.

I often think that if there are people stereotyping Nigerians in the country you are currently at, you should do the same thing with them. I find it ridiculous when people see Nigerians a particular way. If I am abroad, I am one of the biggest defenders of the country.

Dividing Nigeria will only weaken it, also I disagree with your assertion that Nigeria has been failing for a century. It's been failing now since Babangida came into power, but prior to that, at one point 1 Naira = 2 dollars.

Buhari, despite what people think has great intentions for the nation. I'm not saying this because I'm a Northerner like him, I'm saying this because he's one of the first few leaders that is not corrupt. I do however agree that those who are pilfering (the elites) from the nations' wealth need to be dealt with in a way to show others their actions are not permitted.

There is a saying, United we stand, divided we fall. If we are divided we become more of a laughing stock than Sudan in its current state. This is what Westerners want to happen. They want to see Nigeria's economy grow even weaker. We don't need that. We need to starting increasing the power of the Naira (which Buhari is for, unlike that idi0t Babangida), we need to start immersing ourselves in newer tech, advancing our educational and health systems. We need to build ourselves up from a technological point of view.

Ideally, I want to see Nigeria become the next South Korea. I know that we are not a monolithic nation like S.Korea in that everyone is the same culturally speaking, but look at India. It's almost as diverse as Nigeria, yet they are doing so well.

I do not understand, but why the Pessimism? What caused it?
" Nigeria was set to become a great nation until Babangida came into power and then f00ls like Abacha, Goodluck Johnathan,"
etc. followed.

So IBB, Abacha and Gej.. Are the ones who destroyed Nigeria?

What about Muhammadu Buhari or was/is he not part of them too? Oh! Because he's fulani like you, you are given him excuses.

True...but given the mass exodus of indigenous kanuri from borno state (2007-to date) due to security challenges has put the culture and language at risk....
I cringe to think of what future generations of kanuri would be....if no effort is being done to preserve our culture.....
As saying goes "kowa ya bar gida ,gida ya barshi"
I think kanuris started migrating from Borno to hausaland when Rabeh conquered Borno.." I think even in Nigeria you'd find that kanuris and north easterners in general are very proud of their culture. The downside being theres a very tribalistic element amongst you lot and I'm sure you can confirm. Usually in the northwest we just ask which state a person is from and generally don't care about other labels, but from personal experience and observations I noticed ethnicity is always the question in the north east.

So I guess there's a positive and negative element to it but overall I think their culture is intact. I can remember a friend showing me an invigilators list for his exam and I was surprised at some of the names because they sounded alien to, he confirmed that these were kanuri names. Him being from the north east as well had to throw a few shades about them and their character in there so am I wrong in assuming this?
There's no tribe in Nigeria that's not tribalistic in one way or the other;

Fulani,Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Kanuri etc.

The Nepotism in admissions n education is at worse levels in the north of this country.
Most standard n Govt schools in SE n SW don't give a pooo where u come from.
Theirs u come wt exceptional results n u get in. And If ur result is good or average u may need to know some1 in d system or bribe u way in. But that applies to everyone.
But in d North non-northers with 250 in Jamb Wil be forced to change from 1st Choice of medicine to biochemistry or microbiology n not get admission.
While Northerners with less than 200 will get medicine n may abandon the course along the way.
While schooling in a Fed uni in NE. I saw a case of a department refused to give pg scholarship n GA to a first-class Chem engr just because he's not same religion n tribe. This is a research grant domiciled in his department that all best grad student are supposed to automatically get but on d condition that u a GA. They simply refused to give him d GA so as not to get d scholarship. Only to give to a couple of Northerners in d next set.
Lolz! And they are many southerners studying here in ABU without any problem. There's no region in Nigeria that doesn't favor people from it region.. I could recalled when one Aboki guy was d best graduating student late last year, some guys came here saying; it's because he was an Aboki daz y he became d best graduating student, that d hausa/ fulani lecturers r failing their people.

And about d admission stuff.. we all know dat adm are givn based on ur state( meaning: you compete with people from ur state for d available slot).. so, having 250 or whatever doesn't affect someone with 240 from anoda state.

I think CHAN Eagles deserve some Credits for topping the Group without losing a Match. We are expecting too much from them. Some of us even expected them to fail.

They did their best so far, they didn't lose any Match, conceded just a Goal and scored 4 Goals in the Process; yet some us of see no Reason why we should applaud them?!

If we can't support the home-made Team, then how do we expect the League to grow?! The Lads are doing their Best. Let's support them, let's believe in them, so that we can honorably celebrate with them - if they eventually win the Tournament!
