Johnny:I think you meant to say: "Maybe his style is unorthodox, but this reporter did a great service to the people of this country and the victims of this evil gang by getting and reporting on the interview with the kidnapper wife/accomplice. He also had to get a reaction from the kidnapper and puncture his fake demeanour of a non-murderous and repentant victim of circumstance and let him reveal the real criminal that is an angry calculating deceitful covetious murderous and vengeful psychopath. You see how he quickly changed his story from 'my wife and I both participated in collecting ransom and were recently arrested and let go'. . . TO . . .'my wife knew nothing about this until a few days ago' once he realised the whole world know what his family look like and someone knows if she and his kids are really in Ghana or Canada or someplace else. The reporter deserves a medal of valour from Naijiriya." Yeah, I believe that is what you meant! |
back2sender:No reason to insult Igbo people or paint them all with a broad brush because of these money-hungry soulless sociopaths. Their victims were also mostly, if not exclusively, Igbos. If you think Igbos support the evil and misery they wrought, send that slimeball eastwards and see what they'll do to him. An eternal truth is, if you take a life in cold blood, you must pay with your own life. No bargaining. |
Evablizin:Life imprisonment? You must be joking. Why not just give him a slap on the wrist and tell him to be a good boy? Hang him then behead him and send his headless body to his evil mother to burn up. Rinse and repeat to all the others. |
jakandeola:The next thread I see should be one of her in handcuffs being taken to detention by the Lagos police. Or Nigerian army sef! I don't care who makes the arrest. Her murdering husband and his gang and all their accomplices and enablers must all get the death penalty. Otherwise Ambode is out after this term. Out!!! Evil modafokas! Greedy sociopathic family! |
googi:I've seen the wave of anti-Igbo sentiment rising. ![]() |
Olaone1:You no well. I think Naijababe chased Ooni to Oxford in that first video. You can hear her breathless panting, and filming and talking on phone at the same time. ![]() |
Ooni in Oxford, UK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQTBWYeza0I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJsBhSdVcnU More of Ooni in Oxford. This is so awesome. At 9:21 mark, one of Ooni's attendants/praise-singers: "Omo Irunmole!. . . Oba ni n t'oyinbo o ni nle!. . ." Also, 13 minute mark to 16:00, Yoruba community play saxophone and sing for Ooni. It's boring after that until 33:10. Great ending. Must see. ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYsam9cYhgI Bonus: Cuban lady performing Oshun dance. Mo juba fun awon Afro-Brazilian and Cubanos. They are heroes in the preservation of my culture. ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DkepJNapBM |
PAGAN9JA:Thank you eternally! One of my favourite Nairalanders of all time. I was just speechless as I read the thread. I doubt it is even the first storey building in Lagos. And the girl is posing like it's a glamour shot - in front of a place of misery for our kin. Worse of all, they're celebrating some nonsense about missionaries who the whole time were using their religion to subjugate and denying freedom to innocent people and their descendants into perpetuity! There is so much wrong with the presentation in this thread, I can't list them all. My God! Our people are getting dumber. |
Candyrain:You're correct. If this guy had an Eastern-sounding name, there'd be at least 8 pages of unrelenting insults spewed against Igbo people. Igbo people really suffer on Nairaland. That should make you sympathetic to the hatred and online campaign against Northerners that seems to be very popular now. |
whirlwind7:Sorry to bust your naive bubble - no one is adopting some 3 or 6yr old that was kidnapped and will remember her natural parents and environment and later share it with many people. These abductions are for something much dire, like child pornography, child prostitution, organ harvesting and other kinds of unimaginable exploitatative and criminal activities. And adopting a child in Africa is not that hard. Africans have always, since ancient times, adopted children of their neighbours, townspeople and distant or close relatives. It was never a poblem because we are socialististic in nature and the adoptions are what is referred to as "open adoption" and no conducted in secret as in the so-called "developed" world. There are many families lacking enough to feed all their children and are even begging for someone to assist them. Which is one of the reasons we still have some disadvantaged children still being sent to Lagos and other places to work as servants instad of attending school where children belong. let's resist the base sentiment of tribal hatred. The peolple stealing these children are vicious wicked evil criminals and not a symbol of any race or tribe. They will victimise anyone, even their own. as long as the price is right. [apologies for typos.] |
Idowuogbo:This Idowu chick was somethin' else! Long time. Where's my long lost love? ![]() |

otiigba1:Ten times ke? ![]() otiigba1:True. Ojady:Interesting. Asylum things. ![]() ISpiksDaTroof: kobonaire:Don't taze me, bro! ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkMkGOpAF4s True talk. The Brits are soft like their custard. The Ahmrikans would taze his arse for good measure, and hogtie him for being "rowdy while black," and just for that indecipherable accent, they'd drop him off at the Immigration jail - illegal or not. I kid I jest. I love my Igbo bros. ![]() https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Florida_Taser_incident#Student https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L40N-zOV0mM |
I have always believed it is better to give anonymously when giving to strangers, but we live in a different world now. Depending on the situation and to whom you're giving help, it may be necessary to make it known and obvious. In any case, whatever the result, giving should never make you regretful. You gave for the sake of Allah (swt). |
Masha'Allah. |
waleadex:She's from Ikorodu? Lagos girl, nice! Was she based in UK? I know |
birdman:I couldn't care less about anyone's personal issues with their wives. I am not fixated on polygamy versus monogamy. That's the hypocrites' game! I find fault with the conduct and decision making and that of those speaking too much from within the palace. The questionable business dealings; The unconvincing written defense of the investigations of said business dealings; The embarrassing press release about his coronation and the expected attendees; The jaunts all over the country, especially visits with people of questionable character; The choice of publicly installing as Olori a compromised much-divorced professional mistress. . . And I'm not even closely following all the news. I am sure there's more. BTW, you are correct, sir! I am undeniably old school - in some things - and "new school?" in others. It depends on the issue. I do not put myself in a box. I take it issue by issue. I don't know about the "guy" part though. Old school folks prefer egbon or bros. Dude is okay too. I kid I jest. ![]() Anyway, I agree it is best to arrest the negative attention and comments now and just let's see how they handle things going forward. Peace. |

birdman:Hey! It's the Birdman! ![]() Uhm, Sorry o. Se omo Ile Ife ni e? Lookit, I am so sick of the shenanigans coming from that end since. . . and just couldn't stomach it anymore. I always respect the Yoruba throne. I am a strong Monarchist. Fervent! ( I believe the throne must be respected because it is more than just the person occupying it at any giving time. But if someone defames or devalues or devalues the (Oduduwa) throne, even if it is the person sitting on it, all bets are off! Sorry again. |
Oba Akinsemoyin of Eko (Lagos Island) who reigned from 1704 to 1749 There was a short mention of Oba Akinsemoying further up. Here's some more information which includes reporting on an annual event that is held in Lagos to commemorate his reign, honor his lineage and celebrate his descendants. http://www.waleajayisblog.com/2016/03/2016-oba-akionsemoyin-day-celebration_70.html https://i1.wp.com/dailytimes.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/celebration-2.png http://dailytimes.com.ng/oba-akinsemoyin-day-a-celebration-of-royal-rights-and-rites/ Oba Akinsemoyin reigned for 45 years, (1704-1749) succeeded by eight children. Apart from the first two children, Fuji and Pinishin (from his first wife, Sonate) both of who incurred the displeasure of their father, Oba Akinsemoyin later had other children from other wives who now constitute the eight branches of the Akinsemoyin Royal Family of Lagos. They include Ambose, Sadeko, Abisako, Gbosebi, Amore, Jolasun,Adeailu andArogba. |
