tlops:I like it. Maybe. ![]() But the new Kabiyesi sounds like a man of integrity. We'll know more. . . |
ovadozes:Your post is addressed to another commenter, but I want to say that my anti-Iweala post up top is not motivated by tribalism. You can check my post history on Nairaland. When I referred to people supporting corrupt individuals, I wasn't just talking about NOI and those who may support her; I meant to say I am befuddled why anyone would throw their support behind any corrupt person because of some spurious ethnic affiliation. |
LORRDDD:This! It's a fact that the coup derailed this country towards a tragic and long-suffering course. And, I'm no (tribe) hater. zubbyenebeli:I'm not sure of the protocol for such, but you might be right. What is the reason for him even going there, other than the dude is a multi-millionaire? I just have respect that throne so I ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/3423601_flavour_jpeg7189922cc63d14b88a5c8d0f34de8eaf |
rhymaster:Remember a couple of years ago when a reporter tried to interview her on the phone and she pretended the line was faulty and hung up, in an attempt to avoid answering tough questions? She's a deceitful, shameless and venal creature who will sell us out to her paymasters at the IMF. A picture of her getting a hug from some neocolonialist warms her cold dead heart more than a starving African getting something to eat. I don't understand why Nigerians will support an overpaid overrated corrupt soulless creature simply because he or she is from their tribe. What is wrong with people? Wake up! cc: cap28 |
EreluY:Why always antagonising the Easterners? ![]() |
That's a lotta phones! ![]() BTW, I recognise one or two of those phones. Definitely the little Nokia on the extreme left used to be one I used ![]() |
smithsydny: LOL. Boys are not smiling oh! It seems like sufferhead and record-level unemployment has cynicalised many Naija folks. Only some of the female, and a few of the male, monikers seem to be advising against following the "easy money" with the potential father-in-law. From the First-to-Comment, thread is humourous, but I think the guy knows what he wants and doesn't want. At least, he THINKS he does. Come back in 2 years time, OP. Grazie! ![]() Goldenboy007: ![]() |
merxi55: What does this mean? Seriously, it goes one way and then another. Ego? Priced low? No offense! |
Just seeing this for the first time. What's the status? Are his sights restored? Will he be undergoing surgery for such? How do we donate? Thanks. |
I'm sorry I can't read the whole thread. I just read the first two posts and saw the pictures and can't stop crying. Please update and let us know if anything else is needed and how we donate. Blessings. |
Very hard. Very sad. Oh dear lawd. One year already. I can never forget this young man. |
tonychristopher:Agreed. The dude deserves whatever befalls this site. Did you see what he did to Aareonakakanfo's 300-page thread? Whether you like Aare or not, he did a great job and simply was not experienced enough with NL dirty tricks to know his thread would have been safer in the Culture or General section where another moderator first moved it. But what was ultimately done in order to wrest control from the OP was so unnecessary - - using Mynd to do his dirty work. Like Fayose like Mynd. Doggone Ekiti gangsters. http://www.punchng.com/protests-monarch-accuses-fayose-destroying-billboard/ Actually, reading the above story elsewhere is what made me checkout what's the trending Naijiriya news on Nairaland in almost a month. Looks like many old-timers are staying away for long periods too. |
9jacrip:www.nairaland.com/attachments/3391657_image_jpeg_jpeg6f95b5e7a24ad4fc0808d6698fd37362 Wow! Onipopo is regal despite the humble posture. I love to see all the Yoruba Obas connected, especially the Yorubas outside Naijiriya. Omo Oodua till infinity! ![]() |
Olaone1:hehehehehehe. "Things you didn't know about Double Ola." ![]() |
The soldiers should be punished for that, if it really happened. And Buhari should be more cautious making statements that give idiots/soldiers more nerve to harass innocent people. I don't find the source credible. They also have a story about a "191 year-old woman." ![]() http://www.thewhistleng.com/at-191-years-old-mama-esifiho-may-be-nigerias-oldest-woman-alive/ |
Finding out Bilal is considered a Shia by some has led me to continue my small personal research about the reason for the enmity for Shias on the part of some Muslims. I don't get expressed feelings from Sunnis I talk to that they hate Shias but the "official" outlook seems to be unfavorable to them. I know there was a time even I wasn't sure what to think of them and almost got into a tiff with a wonderful Shia (who later became one of my most admired posters on NL) in Islam section. Just as I now also know better than to look unfavourably at NOI because many considered them inauthentic Muslims, innovative, etc. So, what do you find is the reason for the mistreatment and oppression of Shias even in our dear country? I really commend for standing up to the whole world in this matter. BTW, I noticed you mentioned Dr. Umar Abdullahi's work and some issues with his detractors. That was someone whose videos I had posted a few times in older posts and now have renewed interest in what he's been doing. Another person you might like is T. West of Afrisynergy; he did a lot during the persecution of Gaddafi and invasion of Lybia. I believe T. West/Afrisynergy had some problems with YouTube when they deleted his account in an attempt to silence him. But he succeeded in maintaining his channel. |
gatiano:Don't mind them. Awon omo alaileko. It's one thing to politely disagree but they love to throw insults when they cannot defend their position. SMH. A lot of forward thinking posters have to deal with that here. I don't agree with everything you say but I certainly appreciate that you come in peace and with good intentions. More grease to your elbow. E ku odun tuntun. |
gatiano:Pat Robertson has always been a scumbag hypocrite. Similar to Jerry Falwell he supported South Africa when most people were opposing their apartheid policy. Broda Gatiano, mo juba fun yin o. You really try with these NLers but our people are so blinded with colonial mentality. It takes a lot of heart and strength to push forward and not give up on them the way they throw insult and fight against their own mental liberation.BTW, I have a follow up question about a previous discussion: I will go to the Bilal thread to ask it. Shukran! One more thing, about King Leopold and the Belgian atrocities in Congo/Zaire, I believe that it was (my hero) Patrice Lumumba's strong independence day address in the presence of Leopold III's son, King Boudewijn in 1960 that sealed his faith as someone they were going to assassinate. The Belgians were angered by a Black man having the effrontery to speak so strongly in the presence of their hereditary king who was reported to be visibly offended. These people always thought of Africans as monkeys. |
Good thread, Chucky! But PMB better watch it. I've been lukewarm on Fashola and his AG ever since they allowed hijab to be banned in Lagos schools. Though I'm not fully Hijabi (our house wasn't like that - Lagosian/Yoruba Muslims, ya know ), I support anyone's rights to fulfill the requirements of their religion. Some of these abayas can land you in hot water in parts of Sudan, Pakistan or even Dubai oo! Don't even talk of Saudi Arabia. |
Nice. Who are the other people? Lasisi looks nothing like I imagined. Similar to what I thought about Yuzedo's looks and his online persona. |
Saxywale, You seem to have a lot of inside info about Ile-Ife royals. I will assume you are one. I'm curious. Is it a fact that when Ife people speak their true Yoruba dialect, it is impossible for other Yorubas (Omo Eko Lagosians) to understand? |
Kagarko:What's a "debt nut"? Do you mean "dates"? Shukran. And, OP, thanks for the thread! |

Aminat508:Very angry girl. |
BABANGBALI:Wetin Arsenal do you sef? Please! My bestest friends are Gooners, oops, I mean, Gunners. ![]() |
Aminat508:Hehehehe. Arsenal fan? Wey Mukina? ![]() ![]() Stil, I like Le Arse better than the other (formerly) BIG 3'sha. ManU, Chelski, Scousers. |
onoja12:Thank you! Is his lineage from that of Abraham or Moses? Is it not enough to be a living embodiment of Oduduwa and the bloodline of great kings and their ancestors? Some things are so clearly not as they should be but we continue to bite our tongue and keep our own counsel. For how long? Lemme just say, I have concerns. This nonsense is too prevalent amongst African kings. In the very near future. I hope an inability or unwillingness to swear to and uphold our culture and the tradition of his forebears would disqualify potential candidates. . . ![]() Whatever happens, the throne is greater than any one Kabiyesi. ![]() |
