naijababe:What do you mean, "na speaking. . ."? |
naijababe: I previously put a pic there of the snake/man but I found it too disturbing. I can't put any other. They all have references to the title(s) |

Isale's daddy doesn't like Buhari Isale: Mother, so, I was talking to daddy about the elections coming up. So, mo n so pe n'igba time Buhari ati Idiagbon . . . the war against indiscipline and all that, when things weren't anywhere near as bad as they are now, maybe we'll start getting Nigeria back on its track with Buhari coming in. All the corruption and looting and foolishness of Goodluck - OK I know you liked GEJ before sha and you said he was a nice man and maybe even voted for him in 2011. Anyway, daddy really doesn't like Buhari and I wanted to get more into it with him but didn't have the time. He was just po sheing about the man. He said he's a fundamentalist and he curtailed civilian rule and our independence in the past and he cannot now say he's for democracy. But I suspect maybe it's due to him being allied with Tinubu's party. I know he doesn't like crooked Tinubu but Buhari isn't Tinubu now. He's his own man. What's daddy's problem with him? Mother: Talo mo. Hmm, since to ti je Mohla. ![]() Isale: ![]() update: mother corrected me by saying her response had been 'sebi boya n tori o ti je e ri' not 'boya n tori o ti je mo la.' it was kinda funny at d time and i didnt take her response seriously cos i knew he didnt think that way. it'd be ironic, considering he speaks fluent hausa and looks it too. lol. more convo on election and the bruhaha later. says shes solidly straight apc ticket despite her aged cousin telling her to side wt d extended family to stick it to tinubus party cos of some succession issue. so much political intrigue wt awon omo eko. hahaha. ok. lips sealed. |

I received a precious gift of some time ago, but due to my life being a roller-coaster ride for many many months, I didn't have the time to really enjoy the gifts. I don't want to give too much away yet.I figure we can separate the wheat from the chaff and see if any of these know-alls around here know what these pictures represent. I know two people that will definitely know what they are. . .when they were made . . .how much they sold for . . .what their true meanings are to Naija culture etc etc. Anyway, I know we're all honorable Omoluabis here ( ![]()

gatiano:Buhari is the truth and the light for Nigeria and the unity and future of Africa. Oga Jona is terribly misguided, inherently dimwitted and dangerously malleable by all and sundry. |
jaybee3:Inna lillahi wahina illahi raji-un. From Him did we come, and to Him shall we return. K'o ma je okun k'o ma je ekolo; ohun ti won ba n je l'ajule orun ni k'o maa je. Thank you to those who helped DJ, those who prayed for him, and those who kept him in their thoughts. Condolences to his faithful mother and his loving family. Special thoughts for our Nairaland sweetheart, Idowuogbo. |
Idowuogbo:You are such a sweetheart! I don't even know what to say. . . ![]() I've had about 5 mins a week to spare for NL lately. Hate to go to last page to see any 'notgood' news. Reading the young man's post about not giving up on him is not giving me Badosky-Happy feelings at all. ![]() OAM4J:And the grownups are back in charge! When OAM4J takes the time to grace us with his presence, you know we are in good hands. ![]() |
Busybody2:LOL. I could care less about you. Don't start sh!!t if you don't want none! Not on NL 24/7. Sorry. ![]() Busybody2:R231, you have heard Ms Caracta say she will make sure you refund the N150,000k I gave Tehn for "tehn company registration and the rest of the coins loaned for sundry expenses"...Thank God it is only N500,000k in total pere, so hopefully I would be expecting this, this week. And none is from any donation. Thanks...many thanks to you Ms Caracta for hastening this.
|
Busybody2:LOL. I actually was thinking of this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/851929/baby-girlshe-just-week-old/7 But a guilty conscience is a psychotic desperate attention-seeking b!ttch, ain't it? ![]() |

ROSSIKE:Well, Nigerians love anything the White man likes, since the time of the lying missionaries and the 90s wave of American Evangelical movement till now, Naijas have taken to the born-again movement like club soda to coca-cola syrup. So, you will not get too many open minds on this topic; mostly invectives and mud-flinging. ![]() My take: I'm not sure the person known as Jesus was invented however. He may have lived, but the legend created around him undoubtedly was almost all myth. BTW, speaking of myth. . .these people will stone you if you dare to tell them to consider the creation myth of their own ancestors for a change. |

Happy Holidays! I was in a public library recently. As I walked out, I noticed what looked like an exhibition of an artist's work. The theme was undoubtedly African inspired. Despite the fact that int he past you did have African-Americans displaying some level of interest in African cluture and designs, the first thing that came to my mind was "I wonder if that's a Naija artist. . ." See below:

OAM4J:Ehen! Awesome moderator. I'm here to monitor the moderators. I heard NL has gone to the dogs! And I'm not talking about the Hyena-chasing wolf. I want to go on a cursing rampage on another thread. Can you assure me I won't get banned? Actually, try and ban me and see if I won't shut down Seun's bread and butter. ![]() |
