This woman is so full of shh!t. The claim that she did a wedding at the registry does not invalidate his other marriages. This is Africa, and Nigeria recognizes traditional marriages. It is called Customary law. The fact that she also succumbed and did a traditional wedding where they "went through the full traditional marriage in my father’s compound that literally had all the traditional titled chiefs, paramount rulers of the community in attendance" attests to her own approval and recognition of this. The truth will eventually come out about how she manipulated this man and likely precipitated his death, in order for her to quickly move on with her life. It is well-sourced that Ojukwu did not want her chasing Jonathan for political appointments since he considered it unbecoming for his wife to do such. Eventually she got what she wanted. |
nduchucks:Thank you. I also posted a thread about this a year and a half ago. https://www.nairaland.com/1273986/massacre-nigeria-spurs-outcry-over It is indescribably saddening that fellow Nigerians are so blinded by tribal hate and religious bigotry that they are unwilling to even consider the possibility that these people in the North may not all be murderers out to slit their throats to spread Islam. They never doubt that the propaganda that is being fed them is too fantastic and incredible to be believed by a 10-year old with a functioning brain. Have you ever found a group answering to the name "Boko Haram"? |

Well, mea culpa. I wasn't able to continue this. I may have to start all over. . . since so many officials have switched parties. Sorry o, to the Rivers graduate that needed help. How are you? |
Wow! ALI MAZRUI died! This news should have been on the front page. But I guess few in this generation knew of him. Before Henry Louis Gate's African-American themed documentaries and features on PBS, before the DNA racial-genetics tracing shows featuring Oprah, before Gates' must-see late 90s series, "Wonders of the African World," Dr. Ali Mazrui, in the mid-80s, presented us and the western world with a seminal work "The Africans" which aimed to tell our story from our point of view. Unfortunately, we hadn't heard much from him and about him for years before he passed. This is why we should continue to reach back in recent and past history to celebrate the laurels of our Great Africans. On an individual note, time permitting, I would like to continue my theme of Great Africans in history and the present, by creating a couple more such threads. If you're so inclined, feel free to start, e.g., Great Africans in the 20th Century; Great Africans Making a Difference.
