jagaban17: Exactly 2 years after NYSC ( Don't want to write stories to bore anyone ,but I'm sure if you've been unemployed ,you know the travails) .
Last week I started a job with 1.5M annual salary, I collected another offer of 1.3M annual salary also today. Now I have to choose and consider my options based on career prospects, location and other factors ,in fact I'm confused.
By Gods grace, this is just a little of my dreams and where i see myself....also to encourage someone out there, don't give up and don't let anybody pity you. Keep striving. We will all reach our peak.Amen. Its just the beginning. Congratulations man, keep soaring high |

So sad that among this age bracket, many are eligible for a lot of things but in this country merit almost doesn't exist... If you don't know someone that knows someone that......and so on.... You just don't get the said jobs. It is funny how you get to hear or read these things and yet nothing changes..

FairJustice: U are right my brother, what then becomes the fate of the Drs who become frustrated out of the system. He becomes stuck, can't pratice as a specialist neither can he do general practice. A situation were out of 14 candidates only 3 pass? Are the rest so dumb? Its baffling Brother, the others are not dumb at all. from observation and interactions with others, before the exams are even written the colleges already have quota they want to pass. There is no clear cut criteria to ascertain who passes or not hence different standards... I believe medical doctors can do many things outside practicing clinical medicine; lecturing is also lucrative for the doctor amidst other things... I trust God to help us in my beloved country, open the eyes of our understanding and make us see that we gain nothing from failing people who should have passed. Besides medicine is practice and not just theory. Many of the examiners are not even as sound as they claim they want the candidate to be... Medicine is a continuous learning ground, you never say never and you never know it all. |
Health › Re: Frustrations Of Resident Doctors In Nigeria by isblog(m): 3:43pm On Nov 22, 2015 |
Rightly said... "designed to fail candidates ".. One of the reasons our health sector is backward. Many rewrite these exams and at a point frustration sets in and this in turn affects their jobs. The silly thing is that candidates are failed for the wrong reasons... An examiner just doesn't like your face or feels you are too young to be a senior registrar or a consultant and then you are failed...
The entire system should be overhauled. |

Politics › Re: Why 5k From FG? We Need Jobs by isblog(m): 10:00pm On Nov 05, 2015 |
costandi: The point im actually making is that, in the APC manifesto the promised us both jobs and 5k. Even if they provide 1million jobs today, tomorrow people will still be clamoring for jobs. Unemployment is a big problem even in the best of societies. I'm not saying they shouldn't make efforts towards curbing unemployment. All I'm saying is If they cant provide 5k, why do you think they'd provide jobs? On point boss... We hope for the best.. |
Politics › Re: Why 5k From FG? We Need Jobs by isblog(m): 7:40pm On Nov 05, 2015 |
costandi: Madam, I agree with your point.
But, do you know its easier to provide 5k than to provide jobs. Why take the easy way out when you know it wouldn't amount to much later. A job is alot better. Many are educated and still roaming, many are willing to acquire skill but the platform isn't there. The 5k thing even to the poorest amongst us won't solve the problem. There is abject poverty in the land, a land of plenty. Anyway, Nigerian youths seem to be waking up from years of deceit... We are done with easy way outs. #saynoto5k #yestojobs |

WhoBeThisMan: I met this girl last year december, beautiful, very comited to church, and she had all characteristics of what I want in a woman or so it seemed. I approched her, she liked me too, we started going out. I just got out from a very messy brakeup so I really was tired of dating, I told her I want to get married thats my intension and we should start working towards it. She said yes.
I met with our pastor, he basically warned me about the sister, she is nice but can be very arrogant, if I was sure this is what I want because there is no turning back, I said yes! (Love dey shark me).
Fastforward to now. This year has been a very challenging year for me financially. This she knows very well. She insisted we do the wedding by october, I told her it would be too soon, im not financially prepared for that. But I really love this girl, and I wanted her to be happy, and also I couldn't wait for her to be my wife (love still dey shark), so we finally agreed for december, even though its going to be a big financial strain on my part.
I had all the plans to raise money worked out, to cut the long story short suddenly things nose dived in business. My financial pathner had some personal challages and had to pull out funds.
She was able to raise some money from her office, but now she puts me down with her words, castigating me, feeling superior because she feels I need her. She says words that are too hurtful that I have to talk myself out of low self esteem.
The painful part is that all my friends and family members warned me about this, I didnt listen.
Now I think she has become a monster, I wish I could but a stop to all these, I really dont need to get marraid right now. I dont even know hownit will be like to live in thesame house with her.
I have always wondered why this very nice lady is still single at this age(age witheld). But now I think its her arrogance that has probably driven away all her potential suitors.
Pls I need advice, feel free to be harsh if need be
Ps this is not my story oo it is a friend Brother CALL OFF THAT WEDDING. Marriage ain't a joke, it is supposed to be blissful. Yes there may be challenges in it which when/if with the right person will be like a walk in the park... Be wise |
