drimzsmoke: Sorry, I was running out of battery so I was just typing. Most Teaching hospitals are federally-owned (not all) and the federal government uses a template whereby every state is supposed to have a "big" federal hospital which would either go by the name of a federal medical center (if there's no fed institution in the state or if the federal institution doesn't offer medicine or if there is a state hospital by that name) or a Teaching hospital (if it does). It seems the Teaching hospital in your pics is owned by the state government (not the federal government) since LASU offers medicine, too. Hence, the federal government still deems it necessary to create a "big" federal hospital in the state. Edit: I looked at the images you posted again and it seems I am right. The Federal medical center was established (1964) around the time Unilag was created which hints that Unilag might not offer medicine at the time it was created. The federal hospital in Lagos state is called the Federal Medical center, not a teaching hospital. The Teaching hospital is state-owned. |

Ekiti state is one of the last states in the federation created after the military era in 1999. You just proved my point. Lagos might be one of the exceptions, but not a general rule. And it is not the University of Lagos teaching hospital which means the government perhaps didn't establish a federal univ |
Health / Re: Between Federal Medical Center And Teaching Hospital, Which Is Higher Ranked?? by ISelectMySins: 9:24pm On Apr 16 |
One is not greater or of more importance than the other. They are all of the same cadre. They are all government-owned and manged with the sole responsibility of handling medical cases. Like Federal Medical centers, Teaching hospitals are meant to cater for the needs of the general populace and are usually an extension of the Federal university where they are established. You would observe that all first generation universities that offer medicine have Teaching hospitals. In such instance, there is not a need for a Federal Medical center and most states with Teaching hospitals don't have one. Federal Medical center only come into the picture if a state doesn't have a Federal university or if the federal university in the state doesn't offer medicine. Both serve the same purpose and are of the same cadre; it's just that trainees don't get trained in a Federal Medical center. You would hardly come across a state that has both a Teaching hospital and a federal medical center. If one is greater than the other as insinuated, then each state should have both hospitals where one always takes a subordinate position. I stand to be corrected though. 1 Like |

Veecruz: You are quite funny. Seems you didn't know why God allows men to marry more than one wife. I could share some with you if you're humble enough to learn. There are a lot, and quite a lot of -- Do not do this... A man must never do this... You must never do this in the land... And yet, we cannot find a single, even one verse in holy scriptures that specifically forbids men with clear instructions from marrying more than one wife. You talk of adultery as sexual intercourse between a man and an unmarried woman, but you don't know what you are saying. Prove it. |

Prozico22: If I didn't read my bible, I wouldn't be asking you a simple question. Again I ask you, If God didn't create water, where did it come from? When the bible talks of God creating the Heavens and the earth, and talking especially about the earth, creating the earth in verse one must include matter, gravity, water, and some unseen elements. I do not see how Gen 1: 1 can be true and the other verses that talks of other elements springing up on their own. How? Do you expect the bible to explain to its readers that God created, for example, gravity? Would it be necessary to a man who lived 7, 000 years ago? God must have created the waters when he created the earth in Genesis 1: 1 otherwise he wouldn't have creative powers of separation. |

AntiChristian: Reality? Lol. Is that you angel Gabriel? Oops, sorry, I spelt that incorrectly. Is that you, angel Jubril? I hope I spelled that correctly, or are you the angel Harut or Marut that can predict with some level of certainty the fate of non-muslims and the irreligious when reality comes? What do you know about reality? Tell me since you know so much. This is beyond preposterous, but I am listening. AntiChristian: Are you sure? Very sure of the bolded? What would you make of it if I marry a fully-veiled niqab lady (some would derogatorily call an eleha in Yoruba language)? Would she also pass as a defective Muslim to you? Hahaha, you are somewhat right though, but whatever, I have got to do what would pepper you.
AntiChristian: I have bolded what you cannot prove. Prove it. Who were those before them? How long were they required to fast? Who ordained it and where was it written? You are quite funny I swear. When the Torah was written, a part of it was a revelation, agreed. God revealed to the author, Moses, what happened several millenniums before he existed. Some parts of it were not. Moses witnessed the events thereof and could give a very reliable, godly, first-hand experience of what transpired, and some parts were divine instructions given to him by God himself. An instruction from God on what he wants and despises cannot be called a revelation proper. These events can be written by anyone who witnessed the same. I don't know what part of this is difficult to understand. Every appearance of God is a manifestation; revelation only occurs in the absence of the subject(s) or in the absence of knowledge about certain subject by the subject. On reading the Quran, one begins to ponder the fact that it seems the Quran assumes that its readers are familiar with the Tanakh and have already read it, and rightly so. It leaves you wondering why the Quran contradicts what it assumes its readers already know; manuscripts floating around in the thousands in Arabia at the time of Muhammad, lol. AntiChristian: The Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur is the highest holy day in Judaism. It is elaborately detailed in Leviticus 16 and in a verse in the book of Numbers. Leviticus 23:27 Be careful to celebrate the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month—nine days after the Festival of Trumpets. You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the LORD AntiChristian: Muhammad is no different from Adeboye. Whether or not God drank his tea is what I don't know and since I don't know, I would do myself great good to keep mum on the subject -- for if I say he is a liar, I would get punished if indeed God drank his tea, and if I say - yes he's right, God actually drank his tea and it turns out to be false, it would be a sin, too. The best I would do is to distance myself from him to avoid having an opinion on what I know nothing about and avoid Muhammad like the plaque too. What I said doesn't even make sense when weighed on the balance in light of your prophet because Muhammed's case is a different kettle of fish entirely. Muhammad's claims is obviously too false too soul-damning, heretical and contrary to wholesome teaching as revealed to, for example, Moses. Let me reiterate Maimonide's in his thirteen articles of Jewish faith with a thunderous shout: I believe, with complete faith, in Moses and all that God revealed to him as revealed in the Torah. Can a Muslim say same? No, of course, they'd say they do, but not the Torah as we have it today. So they have to modify the Torah as we have it today to conform to some non existent Torah. Delusional. AntiChristian: Is he the last prophet sent to the Jews or to the Arabs? Or to mankind? If he is the last prophet sent to mankind, who was the prophet sent to mankind before him? Where did this prophet live? IS this said prophet an Arab like him? Or, is he an African or a Chinese? People would just open their mouths - waaaa! It's quite funny that a man would claim to be the last prophet of God sent to all of mankind. He is essentially the first and last Arab prophet sent to mankind from his lord. I have never heard something moronic. |

Veecruz: See the way you are desperately panting and moaning like a she-camel loaded with sheaves of grain. What do know about justice? Tell me what you know about justice. I want to know more about this justice. It's quite funny the way some people think. It's almost like I hate polygamy with passion; it is unjust; it is not fair; therefore, God must hate polygamy too. You are very, very funny and quite sadly, ignorant too. You want to define adultery for me from the dictionary. You're defining adultery from a purely western perspective, with an independent mindset. NO! I still stand by my statement. Men and women are not the same. At least not under the law of God. God created women for men and not the other way round. Women are men's bounties and not the other way around. In fact, I would argue that we are all men. I don't know which bible you read or where you come from, but if you read the bible you'd know that men and women are not the same and are not treated with the same measuring line. |

AntiChristian: Better than a thousand nights? Clown! Doing any kind of good in that night earns immense reward as stated? Yimu for this one. No jokes, I would make sure I marry a muslim woman in addition to the wives I would have so that she would not have to fast in the month of Ramadan. Too many clowns roaming the earth. Muhammad claims the Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan and requires his disciples to fast it. A revelation from God about what exactly? Please answer me, is this a revelation about what he did to the Arabs or the Jews? A revelation from God that contradicts previous revelations? Revelation! I spit that word. The Jews fasted only once a year on the Day of Atonement, but you talk of fasting for 30 days because of events that had already been penned, sometimes in the presence of thousands of eye witnesses. When God spoke to Moses and instructed him; sometimes it was in the presence of thousands or hundreds of thousands of people. Incontrovertible proof. I don't even know where to start with Muhammed. I would liken him to pastors in the Christen fold today who claim to receive visions from God. One example: It's just like when Pastor Adeboye of Redeem is on the pulpit preaching and then suddenly he goes -- thank you Jesus! I have a word from God for someone here and then he goes on some prophetic utterance from God. Whether God actually speaks to him and whether God actually speaks to him in that moment is not within my purview to disprove or prove, but I would not put my all on his admissions. The human mind is not only cunning and deceptive, but susceptible to all factors and condition. How is Muhammad different from Adeboye? How many people heard God talking to Muhammed? |
Religion / Re: Many Who Call Demselvs Christians R Hoping On Comiting Adultery. N Escaping by ISelectMySins: 8:20pm On Apr 02 |
Veecruz: What is adultery? How we define adultery in the 21st century is quite different from biblical adultery. Let me define it for you. Adultery is sexual relations between a married man and a married or betrothed woman; adding to this, adultery is sexual relations between an unmarried man and a married or betrothed woman. Flipping the switch, it is sexual intercourse between a married woman and a married or unmarried man. Here, the marital status of the man is not relevant as long as she is another man's wife. It is pertinent to mention that men and women are not treated in the same vein under the law: Adultery is NOT sexual relations between a married man and an unmarried woman. According to the law if a man has sexual relations with a married woman, he and the woman are to be stoned to death, but if a man has sexual relations with an unmarried woman, he is to marry her. That is assuming that the woman's father agrees to it. If the woman's father would not give her out, he is still required to pay a bride price that is equal in value to the bride price of virgins. If you need reference, let me know. Veecruz: This is obvious. I mean, the bible frowns at prostitution and sodomy, but I don't see how polygamy comes into the picture here. That is why the bible encourages people to get married. How does a prostitute commit adultery if she is not a married woman? And how exactly does a homosexual violate same. They are not even remotely close. Veecruz: I didn't argue this with you, but you have to explain how one can be termed an adulterer or a LovePeddler-monger if there is no sexual act before the said marriage. If I have a wife at home and I sight a young damsel on the street and I decide to marry her, and I actually do. How am I an adulterer? Veecruz: Read the body of that chapter, this is an instruction for Israelite kings. Kings have proclivities to marry as many wives for many different reasons. Moses deem it necessary to wade them off of that. But how many is termed multiplying wives? two, three or four? Besides, a specific instruction for kings cannot be said as a fool-prof divine law. No sir, it is not. If there is an instruction for women, would you jumble all of mankind because we are humans too? |

Veecruz: How is polygamy an unholy sin? Veecruz: You never seize to amaze me. You are making up all this in your own head. If I ask for an explicit command where God forbids men from marrying more than more woman, you wouldn't be able to provide one and yet you are talking of double marriage as if you know what you are saying. Pardon me. Polygamy is as old as man. This is no divine oversight. It should have been expressly forbidden. Men have been marrying more than one wife since the first man roamed the earth. It is on record that Lamech who lived for 777 years had two wives. If there is not one, not a single portion of scripture where God says, "A man MUST NOT marry more than one wife..." than I wonder where you got your doctrine from. I would give you 20k if you are able to prove from scripture that God forbids marrying more than one wife. You CAN'T use human antecedents to prove a divine law. The Jewish exiles putting off their foreign wives is not a prohibition against marrying more than one wife. It is not even a divine prohibition of inter-marriage that applies at all times. If someone asks me if murder or say adultery is forbidden, I would answer an emphatic yes. Why? God expressly says you MUST not murder. You must not commit adultery, you MUST NOT... but there is nothing of a command where God forbids polygamy |
