I've been following him for a long time and believe me when I say I would have unfollowed him long ago if I sensed or noticed any racist tendencies in him because I find racism and any kind of ethnocentric bigotry completely intolerable. When a person is accused of something, I always try as much as possible to look at all angles before coming to an independent conclusion.

The reportage is confusing.
He was caught since 2010 that was is 15years ago , except he was release on bail all this while while awaiting trial which is practically impossible given the circumstance (a foreigner) and the crime (drug related).

Apparently that is what happened. I'm surprised myself but from the report, he has been in and out of prison over this matter, which is why his lawyers were begging for clemency because of his wife and three children. If he has been in prison for 15 years they will not bring this angle.

He was caught in 2010 and spent 6 days in gaol.

Between 2023 and 2024, he spent 409 days behind bars. That's one year, forty four days.

Total time spent in prison, one year, fifty days.

He has now been sentenced to 2 years in prison with hard labour. The court however granted that the two years should be with time already served, so he is technically going to serve less than a year in prison for the crime he has been convicted of.

Is it so hard to comprehend??

Yes, that was the outcome of the case. The man's wife was however found guilty of neglect.

What should be done in since it has already gone through the courts, if there is fresh evidence then the case can be reopened and the suspects retried in court because the truth is hashtags and sentiments alone will not bring results.

I don't know when we have deteriorated to this level as a nation that simple banters we used to laugh to are now see as national issues. I remember when we used to yab ourselves with the tribe you come from and everyone will just laugh at you even your family members if you can't do a comeback but now everything is taken as tribal war. I didn't even know about this Bokku issue until I came online because offline, they are still running their business without interruption. I will continue to patronise Bokku for groceries, Ndubuisi for my foodstuff and palmoil, and the nameless Yoruba woman selling vegetables in my neighbourhood for my tomatoes and pepper. Sanni is my go to abokina for small groceries and cucumber.
