Well by now you should have checked ur admission cos ppl that have been shortlisted has been callin me and from me i say congratulationnnnnnnnnnnnnnsssssssssssss to you and do i hear u give thanx to God Almighty first and if u r a muslim do i hear u say Alliamdulillahi 3x.i am very happy for you and if u r not shortlisted as well plz still give thanx to God cos He knows better atleast this is just the first list another list is comin out so take it easy and why wil u not even give thanx wen some that even wrote the jamb then are not alive again atleast for being alive is enough so let all give Praises to the Almighty God.
Now that you have been shortlisted,i can authoritatively tell u from my experience that u r 80 to 90% in UI.all that u just need is to come and defend ur result and most importantly increase ur prayer so that u will meet the good side of the interviewer and also make sure that u
1.pray.
2.let the self confidene be established
3.Prepare and be at the venue as early as possible
4. use simple english so that they wil not ridicule or turn u to laughing stock.
5.be free with them,they r fathers and mothers as well and they want the best for u.it is just because of the ppl that buy there results that they r trying to fish out cos they want only the serious ones in ui.
6.relax and be conversant wit ur results and ur course of study.
wen i mean ur course of study,i do not mean that u should know much about medicine or engineering but i mean the elementary of ur course of study cos they do not expect that u know that since u r just comin in .E.g is someone that is comin for electrical electronics such a person shd be vast in elecronic aspect of physics and physics as a whole and he shd be sound in his mathematics and be prepare for all the why questions of this world eg why do u choose ui,why economics etc .

this is wat Naija mark wrote earlier on how to calculate the average score and he is right Hi everyone. I just read through your posts and since I have the information you all wanted, I decide to share.
Here is how the University of Ibadan calculates candidate's point for admission:

1. Your score in JAMB divided by 10. i.e if you score 270 in your UME just divide that by 10, this gives you a maximum of 40% and in this example it will be 27%

2. Write down your grades in in five relevant subjects. i.e English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (for Engineering, Science Applicants, Medicine inclusive of course). While English and Maths is compulsory, choose other three (most likely, the three choice subjects you wrote in your Jamb)

3. For the five subjects above, calculate your O-Level point thus:
A1 , 6
B2 , 5
B3 , 4
C4 , 3
C5 , 2
C6 , 1
D7, E8, F9 , 0
Add-up your points for the five subjects and multiply your result by 2. This gives you a maximum of 60%

4. If you are Mr Brains and you have 400/400 in JAMB , that's 40%. And another A1 in 5 relevant subjects that's 5 * 6 * 2 = 60% which gives you a total of 100%.

Bingo! that's your point. If you calculate your point to something like say 60% man, you can go to sleep because UI will take such percent.

i was at the admission office 2day to make enquiry abt de(direct entry) for ui and i was told that there is notin on ground for now and that i shd check for next week so am planning to check back on tuesday so all Direct entry students to ui shd exercise patience.
And if u r thinkin of a direct entry into a law programme then i suggest u try ui cos ui wil be admittin more de law students into 200l this year cos there is no any not even one law student in 200l so they wil be using the de to balance the whole tin.so if u qualify think ui law.

Now that u r almost tru wit the filling of ur registration form, i want to urge u to try and calculate ur average score so as to see wat ur chances are like and note also that the very first list ui will release wil be merit list and after that they wil request all that apply but were not pick to apply for change of course, To be contd.

yes the card is 2500 and u can get from any of the banks on the etranzact network but i personally recommend banks like zenith,gtb,access,intercontinental,uba etc just ask for the university of ibadan 2008/2009 etranzact pin and try and ask ppl where they got theirs from as well and if u have gotten one plz share the info here for ppl to know.

you can visit www.ui.edu.ng/admissions for the instructions but the destination for filling the form or submission of result is still www.ui.mycportal.com and as at the time am writing, the site is not opening,it then means that you will have to be checking it from time to time from now onward.
the price of the pin is not stated, the branches of the banks where u can get the pin as well is not stated but am trying my best to see if i can get that from the authority so for now prepare for the registration and make sure u only submit wen u have finally cross check the info u r submitting and make sure u do not miss the deadline.

Yes the university of ibadan admission dept has release the details for the 2008/2009 admissiions exercise and deadline has been set so follow the instructions as u fill the form and inform other intending uite both your friends and enemies because the exercise will not be too long.it is within a short period of time.

well i ave been trying to check out the admission page but i was unable to so wat i wil just advice all to do is to still seek for info b4 filling.like i was told th ui senate wil meet today to discuss on the finalist result and probably on the admission stuff n just make sure u get the ful info b4 filling any thing
