RomanceTrump’s Daughter, Nigerian-bred Fiancé (Michael Boulos) To Marry Nov 12 by ISTP(op):
ISTP:
Read thread were she got engaged:

https://www.nairaland.com/6372893/tifany-trump-gets-1.2m-diamond

Tiffany Trump, the daughter of former United States President Donald Trump, and her Nigerian-bred fiancé, Michael Boulos, are reportedly set to marry on November 12.

According to Page Six, a source close to the couple revealed they would be getting married on November 12.

The wedding ceremony, as gathered, will host more than 500 guests and is scheduled to hold at Trump’s palm beach in Florida.

The source also said the ceremony would be a “huge and lavish” one.

There has been a lot of planning and a lot of staging. This is Tiffany’s big moment, and it will be lavish. It is going to be a huge and beautiful affair,” the source said.

Tiffany and her fiancé got engaged on January 19, 2021, at the White House rose garden — a few hours to the end of Trump’s tenure as US president, with Bolus popping the question to Tiffany with a 13-carat emerald-cut diamond from Dubai, said to be worth $1.2 million.

Boulos was raised in Lagos and he is of Lebanese and French descent. He was said to have moved to Nigeria at a young age – where his family’s business is based; he studied at the American International School of Lagos.

He is the son of Massad, the Chief Executive Officer of SCOA Nigeria, and his mother Sarah is the founder of the Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria.

Page Six gathered that Bolus was studying project management at City University of London when he met Tiffany, a law student at Georgetown, while she was on vacation in Mykonos, Greece, with Lindsay Lohan in 2018.

The couple currently live in Miami, just a short drive from Mar-a-Lago.

ISTP:
Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, has written to the Nigerian Governors Forum to request a meeting in order to decongest jails around the country.

This was made known to our correspondent by the Minister’s Media Adviser, Sola Fasure, on Tuesday.

In exactly one month, Aregbesola stated he would meet with state governors to agree on the mass release of at least 30 per cent of convicts from correctional facilities across the country.

The minister said that the interface was necessary as more than 90 per cent of the inmates were being held for contravening various state laws, noting that over 70 per cent of the 75,635 inmates at present were awaiting trial.

He said that the federal offenders in the system were far fewer than 10 per cent, adding that the bulk of people in custody were those who had run afoul of state laws.

Aregbesola said that they were therefore being kept under the legal jurisdiction of their respective states.

The minister added that the decongestion of the 253 custodial centres nationwide was necessary as some of the inmates have no reason to remain in custody.

However, speaking on the action taken by the minister, Fasure said, “The minister has written to the Governors Forum, but he has not met with them because they will have to communicate with him and give him a date.

“He wrote to them with the request that he wants to meet with them, but he is yet to get a response. In other words, the meeting has not been held.”

12,000 inmates

Meanwhile, the Federal Government on Tuesday revealed that over 12,000 inmates were released from various correctional centres across the country within the last six years in line with the policy of prison decongestion.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice , Abubakar Malami, stated this to members of the Senate Committee on Judiciary , Human Rights and Legal Matters during 2023 budget defence session with the committee .

Malami, who made the declaration in response to question from Senator Ajibola Basiru ( APC Osun Central ) , said the Federal Government was able to decongest prisons across the country through policy actions aside from the Administration of Criminal Justice Act , meant for expeditious dispensation of Justice.

“When this government came on board in 2015, the problem of prison congestion was at the front burner of national discourse , which made President Muhammadu Buhari to set machineries in motion in different ways for required solution.

“One of such machineries set in motion was a presidential committee set up for prison decongestion which liaised with other stakeholders in the justice sector for way out .

“Aside from the committee, Mr President himself also wrote letters to the 36 states governors and Chief Judges of the states for required visitations to prisons and exercise of prerogative of mercies from time to time .

‘In one of such visitations made by the Governor of Kano State , Abdullahi Ganduje , about 500 inmates were granted pardon in one day, totality of which had led to release of over 12, 000 inmates across the country within the last six years .

Special attention was given to awaiting trial persons who constitute the bulk of the inmates across the various correctional centres in the country by taking Magistrates and Judges to the centres for on the spot dispensation of Justice .

Earlier in his remarks , the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele ( APC Ekiti Central), said the 2023 budget estimates for the Federal Ministry of Justice and its agencies as contained in the Appropriation Bill submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari , is N71.291billion.

ISTP:
A former presidential candidate and the Lead Pastor, Household of God Church, Chris Okotie, has explained why the presidential campaign promises made by those contesting for the seat of the president in the 2023 presidential election will fail.

In a statement made available to The PUNCH on Monday, Okotie said all the presidential candidates were basing their campaigns on modalities, without actually addressing the main problem, which he said is the Nigerian constitution.

He said none of the candidates were addressing conditionalities, stating categorically that modalities would not solve the problems of the country.

He wrote, “All the major presidential flagbearers are talking about modality – how they would do what – none is addressing conditionality, that is, the constitution, true federalism, resource control, as the primary solution to the Nigerian quandary.

“Nigeria’s governmental incapacity is not modalities (about requisite knowledge and procedure), but conditionalities (inherent conditional obstructions).”

It further read, “To attempt to base any actualisation of political promises on the present dysfunctional constitution is a journey in futility.”

The Reverend then declared that the only way out is to adopt his brand of restructuring based on Aboriginal Democracy, which would produce an acceptable constitution that would meet the yearnings of the people.

EducationEmmanuella Mayaki Gains US University Admission by ISTP(op): 10:35pm On Nov 07, 2022
ISTP:
Thirteen-year-old Nigerian-born Emmanuella Mayaki has set a new record as one of the youngest persons to be accepted into a university in the United States.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Mayaki was accepted into the Programme for the Exceptionally Gifted at the Mary Baldwin University, US, to study Computer Science in the spring.

Mayaki’s letter of admission made available to NAN in Benin read, “Dear Emmanuella, congratulations on your acceptance to the Programme for the Exceptionally Gifted at Mary Baldwin University! Welcome to the PEG class of 2026.”

She scored a 91 percentile mark of 1,300 in her Scholastic Aptitude Test.

One of Mayaki’s personal accomplishments at age 11, in the year 2020, was the opening of an Information Communications Technology Academy for girls in Abuja, Nigeria.

The academy was her mission to provide sustainable empowerment for the girl child to acquire digital skills and to close the gap on digital literacy, and for training and equipping youngsters in digital technology.

Mayaki said the academy had a vision of securing the future of the girl-child.

The academy, named ‘CodeKid’, which was incorporated under the companies and Allied Matters Act 1990, on the second day of December 2020, with registration number (RC: 1741234), was set up to train the girl-child on the basics of computer literacy from simple Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint functions to the more complex skills like programming and coding.

The young tech developer and programmer has always nursed a strong drive to share knowledge and positively impact people, especially the girl-child.

This led to her decision to launch the after-school, weekend and holiday club in Nigeria.

Mayaki noted that this programming school was influenced by her experience with the United Kingdom after-school club experience, which she successfully duplicated in Nigeria.

Her focus is on the girl-child who falls within the age range of 6 to 15, which includes a beginners’ class to Information and Communications Technology.

Here, newbies to the endless possibilities of the ICT are tutored on Introduction to Computer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing, WordPress, Graphics design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, among others such as object-oriented programming – Python and Java.

In addition, Data Science Nigeria, invited young Mayaki as a guest speaker during their Interactive Workshop for kids and teens with the theme, “How to start a future in Data Science and AI”.

Besides, in May 2022, she was nominated as a STEM icon by STEM Kids New York City. The organisation went on to name her as their inspiration after researching social justice issues around their target audience for their app.

Mayaki was first offered a teaching appointment in the UK while she was aged 11 at the Southfields Primary School in Coventry, England.

Her preferred area of study is in the field of Computer Science.

NAN reports that her passion for Information and Communications Technology beginning from the basics of desktop publishing which includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Corel Draw came when she was aged just seven.

Her passion and rapid rate of learning the basics encouraged the young Mayaki to gain more knowledge about programming languages and augmented reality through online courses from SoloLearn and Udemy.

Some of the courses and certificates she obtained in pursuing this preferred career are a certificate in the HTML fundamentals course, a certificate in the PHP tutorial course, a certificate in the CSS fundamentals course and a certificate in the SQL fundamentals course.

Also, she obtained a certificate in JavaScript tutorial course and a certificate in JQuery tutorial course. She went further to obtain a certificate in Logic Building, Python and Java programming.

Mayaki was nominated to be featured as a recipient in Microsoft’s Legacy Project Virtual Museum’s Women’s History Month Experience in year 2021.

She was also identified as one of the most influential, ground-breaking female change makers of our time, and an inspiration for young girls around the world.

In the year 2021, she was featured in the CBBC’s My Life series for International Women’s Day.

AsomArchitectNG:
Thank you sir...

Today makes it the 40th day...
AsomArchitectNG, please, I'd like to ask a question.

Question 1:

How do you cope with movement?

E.G Presently, you're in Akwa-Ibom for a project.

Client A has a project he/she wants you to supervise and execute until the finish stage in Lagos and at the same time, client B has a project he/she wants you to supervise and execute until the finish stage in Abuja.

How do you shuttle the different locations?

Question 2:

How do you calculate the duration of a building to be completed?

E.G, Engineer A has a 3 bedroom bungalow to be completed for 30 days. Engineer B also has the same 3 bedroom bungalow to be completed for 60 days.

Do you give durations according to your schedules or according to how the building will be constructed or according to how the capital is available?

Question 3:

As a professional architect that you are, do you give customize/specific adjustment/design on buildings?

E.G, Client A wants a basement/underground facility in his/her building but doesn't want it shown on the building plan? Or, client B ask for a 5 bedroom duplex and during construction, he/she wants it changed to a 3 bedroom duplex with a penthouse

I await your response Sir! wink smiley

The Tanzanian passenger plane that crashed on Sunday claimed 19 lives as of the time of filing this report while 24 survivors were rescued.

This was confirmed by Precision Air in a statement issued shortly after the crash which had been blamed on bad weather.

Precision Air regrets to confirm that 19 fatalities and 24 survivors have now been reported by the emergency services at the scene of the accident involving PW-494 which crashed at Lake Victoria in Bukoba today,” the airline said.

This was also corroborated by the country’s Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa who told reporters: “All Tanzanians join you in mourning these 19 people … who have lost their lives.”

Aljazeera reports it was not immediately clear if the 19 victims included rescuers who drowned or whether the 48-seater aircraft had more people on board than previously disclosed, a regional official said.

“We are continuing to investigate,” said Chalamila. “There is a possibility that two people were not onboard but died during the rescue effort.”

Precision Air, Tanzania’s largest privately-owned airline, said it had dispatched rescuers to the scene.

“An investigation team consisting of Precision Air technical staff and Tanzania Airports Authority has also departed to join the rescue team on the ground,” the airline said in a statement.

“We have managed to save quite a number of people,” Kagera province police Commander William Mwampaghale told journalists earlier in the day.

“When the aircraft was about 100 metres midair, it encountered problems and bad weather. It was raining and the plane plunged into the water. Everything is under control.”

News reports showed photos of the plane mostly submerged in the lake with only its green- and brown-coloured tail visible above the water line.

Speaking to Al Jazeera from Dar es Salaam, journalist Faraji Saidi said emergency services were at the scene.

“According to the police commander in Bukoba, the plane crashed due to bad weather, fog. It is raining around that area. Rescue efforts are still ongoing. The airline has worked in Tanzania for so long and has had no crashes,” Saidi said.

Bukoba Airport is on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Rescue boats were deployed and emergency workers continued to rescue other passengers trapped on the plane.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan called for calm during the rescue operation.

“I have received with sadness the news of the accident involving Precision Air’s plane,” she tweeted. “Let’s be calm at this moment when rescuers are continuing with the rescue mission while praying to God to help us.”
