[quote author=RuMiRgO1stSon post=128688245]“Things are becoming too expensive,” Nigerian woman laments the increasing cost of living in Canada. It is very simple solution. Come Back to Nigeria. Home is always good! |
ManirBK:This is one of the situation that leaves one with the question, “What does the core northern part of the country contribute aside absurdities like this coupled with terrorism, illiteracy, poverty, non-progressm, fanaticism etc. |
Edo makes up half of the list. How Edo, a people termed minority is contesting with the so called big-for-nothing tribes in virtually all facet of national achievement is phenomenal that should be studied. Education- Edo. Music-Edo. Travels- Edo . Sports-Edo. Even politics. |

Ologbo147:Not even all Akoko-Edos are Yorubas. Most villages and clans in that Local government still argue till date that they historically and culturally Edo and the ancestors migrated from Benin majorly during the reign of Oba Ewuare(I). |
Elliotwaveforec:Edo is not just the name of the state but also the name of the various peoples whose ancestors migrated from Benin(Oe’Edo), the center and traditional headquarters of the Edo people. Yes! Just like every major languages, the Edo language has it’s various dialects(like you have Ijebu variant of Yoruba language and Ebonyi or Ohafia variants of the Igbo language) but these are to some degree intelligible with the major Bini language depending on the distance of the sub-ethnic group from Benin. For example the Esan could understand Bini to atleast 70-80%. The Owan people speak almost the same dialect like the Esan. When an Etsako man speaks an Owan woman could understand almost perfectly. This goes same for an Etsako person listening to an Esan man. It goes all around this way. Finally, although each group may have their own traditional rulers, however it’s the Oba of Benin that is regarded and homoured by all as the Grand Traditional Ruler of the Edo people and hence the permanent chairman of the Edo state traditional council. Before the British came, the Edos were already civilized. They were the owners of most of the space known as Southern Nigeria today including some parts inhabited by both the modern day Yoruba and Igbo people. They are a proud and intelligent people who know their history. You can’t divide them not when they are outside here. Don’t be ignorant! Be educated! Be wise! |
Elliotwaveforec:Mumu just like the ijebus, Egbas, Aworis, Ekiti, Ibadan, Ondo, Ilajes, Owo etc are not Yorubas. Let make it clear just like Yorubas and Igbos, Edo has sub-ethnic groups/dialect which are just parts of the whole group called the Edos or Igodomigodo. Calling the them Bini isn’t that bad although some sub-group may not want this. The peoples of the |
Greenfaces:Come and carry the power now. You think this is Northern Nigeria? Look we don’t regard you people as bonafide Edo people if done know. Your forefathers were intruders(Nupe/Fulani) who came to our lands. Go back to Nothern Nigeria where you belong. This is Edoland and not that Fulani your kinsmen. |
NOW GIVE IT TO THE EDOS. They actually becoming the most enlightened tribe in Nigeria. What else can you say? A state producing 3 candidates in top 10. |

I have been hearing this notion but it’s not entirely true. Power isn’t technically transient when it’s royalty or theocracy. It’s only transient especially in democracy. In this submission, I am not factoring in death which is common to all forms. |
