Thanks.rate please. bouqounmie: Hello dear, I was able to pay through Form a at Diamond bank last week. They claim to give PTA only if you have an xclusive account with them. You can just walk into a branch and make enquiries.
I also went to a Stanbic bank branch and I was told I could pay through Form A too. You can also get there to find out.
Hope this helps.

I've used them to London in 2013. They had in flight entertainment. Seats were comfy but rubbish food. XX01: who has flown Ethiopian airline before? My friend just booked hers and her DH has been putting fear in her that the seats are too uncomfortable, that there is no entertainment, the flight is too long etc. Please epp. |

The fight was ok... I liked it cos it was cheap, on-time, hostesses courteous and plenty empty seats to rest well. they have like 5 programmed movies for inflight entertainment so not great. You can get movies on your tablet. I didn't even have time for that one thanks to my small madam. They give African food on board, efo riro, edikinkan, jollof etc. And then snacks later. They land in gatwick so you won't experience the craziness of heathrow when you want to do VAT refunds on your departure cos no crowd at all. I was the only one when I did mine. Hope this helps. favouredmum:

You can't walk into the bank and buy.. You have to a valid reason to buy dollar eg form M(import/export) or form A(sch fees etc). How it works is, you apply and then the bank bids for you at CBN. If the price you quote is within the bid win rate for that day,you application will pull thru. If not,you have to bid again the next day. Just the way treasury bills works. For now, they are trying to clear the backlog of FX trxn so form A for medical is on hold. PTA too. All info according to my bank(UBA). evemama: What does this mean bankers? Can I walk into any bank and get d dollar for this amount? Abeg how does this translate to me?
Also heard from one banker that cbn has stopped form A for medical. Is this true?

Naming on the eighth day is biblical. Circumcision too. Check your bible. Ajujuju2:
Im Igbo and catholic too... DH is pentecostal but was born in an Anglican family. So sometimes there is a mix of beliefs. Lol. For my first there really wasnt any such thing as naming day but we started praying from day1.
For my second i stayed with my cousin who goes to redeem and their pastor made it a point of duty to come on the eight day.
Whats d point od naming ceremonies if not PRAYER?? |

Update on UBA card for online transactions. I posted about UBA rate being 208 when I tried buying stuff on amazon few days ago. I chose the "pay in naira" option like I've always done in the past. It declined. Tried with two friends cards but also declined. Just spoke with UBA card fulfilment customer service and I was told "pay in naira" option has stopped. That I have to choose "pay in dollars" and I will be charged the naira equivalent. Rate on Friday was 377. 1 Like |

Abeg check Ur statement like some weeks later. UBA behaves like MTN from my observation.
Moreover,CBN has stopped usage of naira cards outside the borders of naija. ![](/faces/huh.png)

UBA card. I shopped with it on amazon today and rate was N208.51 for the "pay in naira" option. NaijaMama: I usually shop with my Stanbic IBTC and GTBank cards on Amazon and choose 'pay in Naira' which gives me the rate of N209 to a $. However, I noticed that the option is no longer available from about 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know any other bank card that still accepts that option? |

Congrats!
The POE wahala has reached UK sef. When I went to the UK with my daughter two weeks ago, POE was not a breeze cos POE officer saw my daughter's American passport.
She asked why I went to give birth in the US, why I gave birth on a B1/B2 visa, if I paid my bills...am I very sure I paid my bills, if UK was also giving passport just becos baby is born there will I also come to UK to birth, that she thought US has stopped giving passport just cos baby was born there bla bla bla. I just taya!! Finally sha, she stamped us in with bad eye. In my mind I was like"who sent you this one o, oversabi".
Abi we should start taking receipts when travelling to UK too? *eyesrolling* *longhiss*
[quote author=Egonne1 post=46507335]Hello good people. In the spirit of giving back to the thread, got into the USA on Tuesday through BOSTON poe. My daughter has been strong hence looking posting. Journey was very tiring with a 16 month old daughter, extra active. Got into Boston at after 8, long queue, nobody look Belle move us forward. Waited for our turn while praying. Got to our turn. Was asked if I had gotten any hospital, I said yes, officer asked if I made any payment, I said no that the hospital insisted I come in before making any payment. He kept asking why we didn't pay. I informed him that when I insisted on paying, the option they gave me wasn't available in Nigeria (electronic cheque). I also informed him that I sent funds to my sister and came with cash. The guy wasn't convinced. He stamped hubby and daughter in and sent me for secondary inspection. 4 Likes |

Thank you. Amother4life:
Yes . If your visa is still valid you can travel to the United States with your two passports, as long as the visa is valid, not damaged, and is the appropriate type of visa required for your principal purpose of travel. (Example: tourist visa, when your principal purpose of travel is tourism). Both passports (the valid and the expired one with the visa) should be from the same country and type (Example: both Nigerian regular passports, both official passports, etc.). When you arrive at the U.S. port-of-entry (POE, generally an airport or land border) the Customs and Border Protection Immigration Officer will check your visa in the old passport and if s/he decides to admit you into the United States they will stamp your new passport with an admission stamp along with the annotation "VIOPP" (visa in other passport).

Thank you. oyin3:
You don't need a consent letter, or birth certificate, to travel with your little one, many mamas travel with their children, without their DH, London or America, if asked, you are one of the child's parent. Plus, you mentioned that your new passport has same surname. I'm sure you should have no worries. ![smiley](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/smiley.png) |

My people pls a random question.
1. My visa is in my old passport. I have a new passport and I have done change of name. When travelling, all I need is to present both passports(expired old one passport with visa and new passport with surname changed).
2.Please when travelling to London for instance, with your toddler, do I have to carry any document to show I the mum? Eg birth cert. Tho I have changed my name so our surnames are the same.
Since I'm not going with hubby, just my lil one, does hubby need to write a consent letter saying he's her dad and consents to my travelling with her.
Questions may sound silly but pls I need answers.
Please note that this trip is to London not America.
Thanks pple. |

I used arik. Please search for my post on it and others that have used them. They are very difficult with pregnant women. You must not be more than 28weeks. They won't accept your fit to fly. They will send you to port health and those ones won't collect bribe if it's arik. Plus they can cancel flight ehn! My mum missed my delivery cos they kept cancelling her flight with no date of possible travel. She had to request for refund and use Virgin Atlantic. It is well with you sha. happytbaby: You didn't see my post about how I dropped my 'inyanga' and bought the ticket on friday? You should read it and laugh. I cannot be drinking gari to born baby abeg.
I am still making other decisions. I have not been able to choose between El paso and Chicago. The decision no longer boils down to cost but convenience. Wish I had family and free accomodation in Chicago sef, because Chicago is closer and I just want some kind of support system. Crossland (MIHS) haff spoilt me
