I did and no feedback. I applied to five others too...only one came back (Universityof Manitoba) and it was a rejection. Waiting for the other five...University of new brunswick inclusive. Nicky123: |

Good evening all. This is my first time here. I see the thread is over 800 pages so its difficult to scroll and read up. Background. I've applied to a couple of schools for masters(second masters degree...I have an MBA from a school in Nigeria). I previously applied for Canada visit visa in year 2018. I was doing my MBA at the time so I added the admission letter to show one of my ties but was denied for home ties. I didn't know about SOP then so I didn't submit any. I currently have an active EE profile. That process now seems long thus the decision to go through study route. My two kids are US citizens(both less than 8years). I have good travel history to UK and US. My questions. 1. I understand Canada is interested in showing ties to Nigeria to be sure the student returns after study. Since I have an active EE profile, it means I fall under dual intent. How do I address this in my study permit application? How do I convince the VO I will return after study? 2. Do I apply alone for the study permit or with my family since i have an active EE profile which evidences I have plans to migrate to Canada eventually with my family. 3. If I apply alone, can I take my kids along without applying for visit visa for them since they are US citizens and don't need visa. They can stay in Canada for 6months without visa. Since my kids are US citizens, will this have any implication on my study permit(positive or negative). I would appreciate if anyone can help respond to my questions and also share sample visa SOPs for anyone in a similar situation to any of mine or point to the page if they were discussed or shared previously. I am willing to read and learn. Thank you. |

Good evening house. Please does a four month old baby need to do the covid test? Those who travelled with babies to Nigeria last weekend on the evacuation flight, please respond. My sister has been trying to get a place to test and just found one that can get the test out fast but they are charging $90 for babies but free for adults (others places say minimum of 8 business days and that will be late for her). She is scheduled to be on the evacuation flight for next weekend and her covid test appointment is tomorrow. Please help. Thank you |

Thank you to all who provided answers on evacuation flight for my sister. She has booked the one of 17th July. Though she was only able to book for herself (at the time of booking, only one seat was left). She has a four months old baby. Does anyone know how much it will cost to buy a ticket for the baby at the airport(evacuation flight is with Ethiopian airline)? She has been calling Ethiopian airlines to ask and make payment if possible but no one ever picks the calls. |

Hello. How were you able to find out/suspect the fraudulent use? I have a friend in the US who called me some months back asking that she files taxes for my kids since they are US citizens and I will get paid about $1000 or more. I told her no that they dont live in the US so they cant be filing taxes. I knew she was trying to use them as dependents to reduce her tax liability and trying to play on my intelligence. Now my worry is, she knows my kids names(first names and our surname). Can she use that to get their SSN and file the tax without my consent? How can I check my kids SSN are not in use by anyone (though I have never given anyone their SSN). I would appreciate responses please. OMOLARAFE: |

Good morning house. Been awhile. Please mums who are currently in Houston, have you been able to get US passport for baby? I have a friend who gave birth in March in Houston. She has gotten birth certificate, submitted application for US passport through post office but the passport is not ready till now. When she calls, they say they are only processing passport for emergency cases (travel for family member death or injury) and as such her minor's passport does not qualify for emergency so she should be patient. She really wants to come back home. Any advice on what she can do? Is there anything like emergency travel document to use in place of a US passport? Please help. 1 Like |

Good morning all. I left Nigeria on Sunday and arrived Virginia on Tuesday. Wrote my POE story on Monday. Using Henrico Doctor's hospital and Dr. William Fitzhugh. Went for my first doctor's appointment on Wednesday. Forgot to stop by at the billing department of the hospital to make payment. Though I had pre-registered with the hospital over the phone last year November. Decided I would pay hospital fees by my next doctor's appointment next week Wednesday. Surprisingly, my water broke on Thursday night. I'm 35weeks and 6days. I was so scared. Thank God my mum is with me. Packed a few things and we headed for the hospital. Arrived at 12:24am Friday morning, checked and i was already 7cm dilated. Baby arrived 2:33am. I didn't use epidural. Labour was short but crazy. Used epidural for my first daughter so this no epidural thing got me bad. They brought in over 5 NICU specialist doctors into the delivery room cos they said baby was preterm and she would most likely have to go to NICU. To God be the glory, they checked her and all was well and no need for epidural. God is so Awesome! Please mums who used Henrico Doctor's hospital , I need steps on how to get all baby's documents fast as I want to be done as soon as possible and head to Maryland where I have family. Also, please I need the link for my husband to notarise for baby's US passport in Abuja. The link I have is for Lagos. Please someone help urgently. Thank you. 10 Likes |

Hello all. Arrived New York via AirFrance from Abuja yesterday. Didn't get fit to fly from my doctor but they airline insisted I go to port health at Abuja airport to get fit to fly. I paid N2,000. Flight to Paris and JFK were ok. Flew with my mum and three year old daughter(US citizen). My daughter slept most of both flights...Thank God. Did self-service at JFK. Got a printout without the "X" sign so we were directed to a line where they just stamp you in. Got to our turn and the CBP(while stamping our passports) just asked how long we are staying, how much we have and if I have lived in the US before. I answered 9weeks, Bleep dollars and No respectively. He didn't check my daughters passports. Told him he didn't stamp any of her passports(US and Nigerian passports) and he said he did not need to. We went to pick our bags and boarded a connecting flight to DC. Got home and found one of our boxes was opened for search by TSA. The box was also badly destroyed at the side that our stuff were hanging out of the box. Don't know if we lost anything yet as I am yet to unpack. All in all, we thank God for journey mercies. Heading to Richmond Virginia tomorrow. Please for those already in the US, please which line can I buy that I can make calls to Nigeria for affordable rates and also give me enough data? My Nigerian lines are not agreeing to roam. Thank you. 6 Likes |

Sorry about your denial. Try getting a letter of non-indebtedness from the hospital explaining that you were self pay patient paying cash and that that's the rate giving to such patients and no insurance or medic aid was used to pay your bill. Then when filling another DS160 form, there's a place they ask "have you been denied a visa before. Explain" write in detail how your last interview went that vo was displeased with the discount but that was what you were given and you now have a detailed letter from the hospital explaining this and no insurance or medic aid paid your bill. Hope this helps. duvocharrison: 3 Likes |

If you used Del Sol, contact Nicole the financial counsellor. I made her give me a letter of non-indebtedness explaining why my bill was low and my itemized bill showed huge discount. gurlnext2u: |

Please enlighten us if you understand how it works or you are a lawyer. I always thought it needed a constitutional amendment but executive order to me sounds like he can just write and sign and it is effective immediately. I'm not a lawyer so pardon my ignorance. Beautyaddy: |
