Amen! It is well with us.

Wow.. it is well. I hope we get a positive feedback soon

Wow! It is well. Thank you.

NorthernshoreTS:

UoR admission process takes a long time (atleast for MHRM). It took over 4months before she was given admission. So if your application has not reached 4months, relax it will come out eventually.

Congratulations!! Your wife and I have a bit similar professional profile and intended course of study and school in Canada. Please I have some questions. I just sent you a mail request. Thank you

purespikes:
LONG POST ALERT
This testimony is on behalf of my wife, who is a silent member of this forum and has been following this thread consistently since Part 19. The Canada journey started in 2019. We started with the EE route by doing WES and writing IELTS, but due to age, we couldn't gather the needed points. Getting PNP also became difficult. So, in 2021, we decided to focus fully on the study route. As such, my spouse and I devoted time to gathering knowledge from this thread. The biggest challenge we had was how to convince the VO on her choice of program (Master of Organizational Management) considering her career as an Auditor in the public service with previous degrees in Accounting( 1st) and Policy Analysis (MSc). She also had lump sum deposits into her account. However, we took another 3 months to systematically build her account as a self-sponsored applicant and also gave detailed explaination on every lump sum deposits in a separate LOE. So, after settling for Crandall (she got admission into many colleges) we eventually submitted her application alongside a visitor visa application for my son.

TIMELINE
Application Submitted- 6th December, 2021
Biometric Completed - 8th December, 2021
Biometric confirmed - 9th December, 2021
Upfront Medicals - 3rd February, 2022
Upfront Medical Passed - 15th February, 2022
Eligibility Started - 17th February, 2022
BVL - 21st February 2022
PPR- 21st February, 2022.

I started sending mails to IRCC email addresses on 13th February, 2022, when her medical was not updated. I sent the mails like twice daily and got the generic response.

Upon her PPR, I noticed that my son's medical was updated to pass today and his eligibility review also started today. Hopefully, his PPR is dropping soon as well.

I did and no feedback. I applied to five others too...only one came back (Universityof Manitoba) and it was a rejection. Waiting for the other five...University of new brunswick inclusive.

Nicky123:
Please is there anyone here that applied to University of New Brunswick for Fall intake?

If yes, please have you gotten any feedback from them?

Congratulations!!

I also applied to same school and course but no response from them.

Please when did your wife apply to the school and how long did it take for them to respond?

NorthernshoreTS:
My beautiful people. I feel so blessed and privileged to have joined this forum early enough. Right from the first stage of application for admission to the final process of visa application, I was guided, tutored and advised by so many wonderful and selfless people on this forum. Every single thing I know today about the Canadian study application process, I learnt from here.
This application is actually for my wife who is a first time applicant but I handled the entire process. Yes, there were times we were tempted to let an agent handle the application but the money that was being quoted was a bit too much for us so we opted out and decided to venture into the unknown by handling the application ourselves. I give God all the glory and honor for it has ended in extraordinary praise.
We utilized the NEW PORTAL for the application. I highly recommend using the new portal, it seems to be somewhat faster than using the regular gckey. Our timeline is highlighted below and please note we DIDNT pay any school fees

I applied to U of Regina too but no response from them yet.

When did your spouse apply and when did they respond?

Jacklens:
Good morning, friends!
Thanks to everyone/gurus for taking time to share and educate us - the newbies.

I need advice:
- My spouse has been offered admission in university of Regina. Fall 2022
- Annual tuition is approximately $20,500 (B.Ed)
- Class resume end of August, 2022.
- Required tuition deposit of $500
- Yet to apply for study permit and visa, pending reply/response from the house.
- Spouse intend to leave with 3 kids same time.
- I will also be applying for visitor's visa to accompany, settle them, before returning to my regular work in Nigeria.

Please, can our learned friends advice me if i should apply for everyone at the same time; or defer the kid's application till the mother secures her visa?

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by isysleek: 1:07am On Jan 26, 2022
Good evening all.

This is my first time here. I see the thread is over 800 pages so its difficult to scroll and read up.

Background.
I've applied to a couple of schools for masters(second masters degree...I have an MBA from a school in Nigeria).

I previously applied for Canada visit visa in year 2018. I was doing my MBA at the time so I added the admission letter to show one of my ties but was denied for home ties. I didn't know about SOP then so I didn't submit any.

I currently have an active EE profile. That process now seems long thus the decision to go through study route.

My two kids are US citizens(both less than 8years). I have good travel history to UK and US.

My questions.
1. I understand Canada is interested in showing ties to Nigeria to be sure the student returns after study. Since I have an active EE profile, it means I fall under dual intent. How do I address this in my study permit application? How do I convince the VO I will return after study?

2. Do I apply alone for the study permit or with my family since i have an active EE profile which evidences I have plans to migrate to Canada eventually with my family.

3. If I apply alone, can I take my kids along without applying for visit visa for them since they are US citizens and don't need visa. They can stay in Canada for 6months without visa.

Since my kids are US citizens, will this have any implication on my study permit(positive or negative).

I would appreciate if anyone can help respond to my questions and also share sample visa SOPs for anyone in a similar situation to any of mine or point to the page if they were discussed or shared previously. I am willing to read and learn.

Thank you.

Thank you very much. I've been so worried.

ANIT1:

No one can get the SSN of your kids unless you give it to them secondly it can’t be gotten from just having there full names thirdly bear in mind that after you received there SSN the only way to get another one if anyone even claims them will be going to social security office and you know what that means that the person must be able to prove full guidance by presenting documents like birth certificate that I believe has your name as well as IDs too. So you have nothing to worry

Good evening house.

Please does a four month old baby need to do the covid test?

Those who travelled with babies to Nigeria last weekend on the evacuation flight, please respond.

My sister has been trying to get a place to test and just found one that can get the test out fast but they are charging $90 for babies but free for adults (others places say minimum of 8 business days and that will be late for her). She is scheduled to be on the evacuation flight for next weekend and her covid test appointment is tomorrow.

Please help.

Thank you

Thank you to all who provided answers on evacuation flight for my sister. She has booked the one of 17th July. Though she was only able to book for herself (at the time of booking, only one seat was left). She has a four months old baby.

Does anyone know how much it will cost to buy a ticket for the baby at the airport(evacuation flight is with Ethiopian airline)? She has been calling Ethiopian airlines to ask and make payment if possible but no one ever picks the calls.

Hello. How were you able to find out/suspect the fraudulent use?

I have a friend in the US who called me some months back asking that she files taxes for my kids since they are US citizens and I will get paid about $1000 or more. I told her no that they dont live in the US so they cant be filing taxes. I knew she was trying to use them as dependents to reduce her tax liability and trying to play on my intelligence.

Now my worry is, she knows my kids names(first names and our surname). Can she use that to get their SSN and file the tax without my consent? How can I check my kids SSN are not in use by anyone (though I have never given anyone their SSN).

I would appreciate responses please.

OMOLARAFE:
Hello All,
I will appreciate if anybody with information/link on how to notify the authority of a suspected fraudulent use of one's child's social security number can please share with me here. Thanks and God bless.

@Omobendel and other gurus should kindly assist. It is very crucial for me now please.

Thank you all.

Good morning house. Been awhile. Please mums who are currently in Houston, have you been able to get US passport for baby? I have a friend who gave birth in March in Houston. She has gotten birth certificate, submitted application for US passport through post office but the passport is not ready till now. When she calls, they say they are only processing passport for emergency cases (travel for family member death or injury) and as such her minor's passport does not qualify for emergency so she should be patient.

She really wants to come back home.

Any advice on what she can do? Is there anything like emergency travel document to use in place of a US passport?

Please help.

Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by isysleek: 5:05pm On Mar 02, 2019
Good morning all. I left Nigeria on Sunday and arrived Virginia on Tuesday. Wrote my POE story on Monday.

Using Henrico Doctor's hospital and Dr. William Fitzhugh.

Went for my first doctor's appointment on Wednesday. Forgot to stop by at the billing department of the hospital to make payment. Though I had pre-registered with the hospital over the phone last year November. Decided I would pay hospital fees by my next doctor's appointment next week Wednesday.

Surprisingly, my water broke on Thursday night. I'm 35weeks and 6days. I was so scared. Thank God my mum is with me. Packed a few things and we headed for the hospital. Arrived at 12:24am Friday morning, checked and i was already 7cm dilated. Baby arrived 2:33am. I didn't use epidural. Labour was short but crazy. Used epidural for my first daughter so this no epidural thing got me bad.

They brought in over 5 NICU specialist doctors into the delivery room cos they said baby was preterm and she would most likely have to go to NICU. To God be the glory, they checked her and all was well and no need for epidural. God is so Awesome!

Please mums who used Henrico Doctor's hospital , I need steps on how to get all baby's documents fast as I want to be done as soon as possible and head to Maryland where I have family.

Also, please I need the link for my husband to notarise for baby's US passport in Abuja. The link I have is for Lagos.

Please someone help urgently.

Thank you.

Hello all.

Arrived New York via AirFrance from Abuja yesterday. Didn't get fit to fly from my doctor but they airline insisted I go to port health at Abuja airport to get fit to fly. I paid N2,000. Flight to Paris and JFK were ok. Flew with my mum and three year old daughter(US citizen). My daughter slept most of both flights...Thank God.

Did self-service at JFK. Got a printout without the "X" sign so we were directed to a line where they just stamp you in. Got to our turn and the CBP(while stamping our passports) just asked how long we are staying, how much we have and if I have lived in the US before. I answered 9weeks, Bleep dollars and No respectively. He didn't check my daughters passports. Told him he didn't stamp any of her passports(US and Nigerian passports) and he said he did not need to. We went to pick our bags and boarded a connecting flight to DC. Got home and found one of our boxes was opened for search by TSA. The box was also badly destroyed at the side that our stuff were hanging out of the box. Don't know if we lost anything yet as I am yet to unpack.

All in all, we thank God for journey mercies.

Heading to Richmond Virginia tomorrow.

Please for those already in the US, please which line can I buy that I can make calls to Nigeria for affordable rates and also give me enough data?

My Nigerian lines are not agreeing to roam.

Thank you.

Thank God for you. Please I'm also using Air France. Did you get fit to fly from your doctor in Nigeria to show to the airline? Also does Air France have a format for fit to fly? Thank you.

Leez29:
Hello Mommas , hope everyone is doing fine. My trip went on quite smoothly - came in through JFK from Lagos with airfrance . Then took Delta flight to Elpaso through Atlanta, it was quite a tirey journey but glad I went through JFK .
My visa had expired but I dint do Dropbox as I saw from this thread that most people got called for interview so I quietly donated myself for a fresh interview without dropbox to save time and stories .
Using Doctoresparati letter (same I used in 2015 when I had my son) I applied with my sister (since am going with my son and will need help) but she was rejected. So I was scarred to apply for my mum cos of someones experience here as well.
My mum's visa was approved no much question only asked why she was going , my visa page, how many kids and grandkids she had.
When we got to JFK, I showed the officers my son America passport and she asked I join the citizen line and go ahead to do the self machine stuff. I stayed on the line for five mins and the officer asked me only one question - how long are you here for and I told him 3months and he stamped me and said have a nice stay . That was it , no agriculture though I had few food items and had a little below $10k as I dint want to waste time declaring.
I bless God for His favor cos we were treated like we just came back to our country. No hassles , no questions , nothing .
Am in Elpaso now in a very comfy accomodation I secured through airbnb -
Sorry for my long writeup. I wish everyone going for interview and those who have gotten visa a safe trip and safe delivery for all of us. May God grant us favor and above all Wisdom in making any decision.

Sorry about your denial.

Try getting a letter of non-indebtedness from the hospital explaining that you were self pay patient paying cash and that that's the rate giving to such patients and no insurance or medic aid was used to pay your bill. Then when filling another DS160 form, there's a place they ask "have you been denied a visa before. Explain" write in detail how your last interview went that vo was displeased with the discount but that was what you were given and you now have a detailed letter from the hospital explaining this and no insurance or medic aid paid your bill.
Hope this helps.

duvocharrison:
I went for a 221g interview today in Lagos embassy was so empty.in all abt 9 people inside.i met d wrong vo .note she was screaming y my bill I paid 8600 that is low that the discount hospital gave me is too much .my hubby explained talked and talked even me.she was just screaming if is nig hospital will they give such.i told her d quotation hospital gave I paid all .she now said she can see dat but her issue is the discount is much and I still want to use d hospital again WHMC I now told her if d zero balance discount she is seeing is d issue I will change hospital.she now said the least am meant to pay is 15k dollars imgaine.biko see me see wahala dat on that note she won't approve our visa.i .can reapply .I have just 1month left.is so painful.that usa hospital once they see nig people with cash they will quote anything just to collect cash from them

If you used Del Sol, contact Nicole the financial counsellor. I made her give me a letter of non-indebtedness explaining why my bill was low and my itemized bill showed huge discount.

gurlnext2u:

Sorry about your ordeal. To be honest, I think these hospitals should provide a document stating that discounts are usually given to cash paying patients. From your interview, you did nothing wrong. You paid your bills and declared your intentions at your previous interview.
I’m yet to do drop box because I used doctores in 2016 and the itemized bill I received showed a huge discount. I’m really concerned.
If you really want this, you can re-apply.
You can monitor the website to see if you’ll find another date before your EDD.
I wish you all the best.

Please enlighten us if you understand how it works or you are a lawyer.

I always thought it needed a constitutional amendment but executive order to me sounds like he can just write and sign and it is effective immediately.

I'm not a lawyer so pardon my ignorance.

Beautyaddy:

lol!...why are you going along with the unnecessary panic news? undecided

He can't change the Constitution unilaterally...he needs Congress to do it.
