Hello house, Ecobank Wuse 2 Abuja branch said no PTA for now but even if they have, I have to have an active account of not less than 6months. Dormant active just reactivated don't qualify as active account.

Standard Chartered said they give but their account opening process na die! Savings account must have two references, account opening amt for savings acct is 50k! Your account name must be the exact name (in the same order) you registered for BVN. If you've changed your name after BVN, then you have to go back to the back you registered for BVN to effect the change name b4 SC will accept it and open account for you.

Na wa o!!!

Hmmnn...this Abuja is not PTA friendly at all.

Unity bank in Wuse2 said they have too many applications so not collecting anymore.

Went to Heritage bank, told me to open account and I will get PTA in three days, all for them to say today that no dollars for now. And I have opened acct and funded o. I just weak.

I'll try Standard Chartered and Ecobank tomorrow.

Please keep me posted if you get PTA anywhere in this town(Abj).

Thanks
I will locate their Abuja branch tomorrow.

No requirement. Just walk in and open. The only thing is that you need referees even common savings account
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by isysleek: 5:10pm On Apr 13, 2016
What's standard Chartered requirement? Account opening? Do I have to maintain the account for awhile?

shithapuns:

intend to go the standard chartered bank route, and my acct officer assured me of high chances of being given...just that it takes 10 working days...he also mentioned the prefunding issshhh.

u may consider hedging ur bets...ie try 2k from scb and try the other 2k usd elsewhere..............ie prefund/request only 2k from standard chartered bank.......

Thanks. Not pregnant though so I have enough strength to waka till I get. Lol

I don't mind opening account with any bank because of PTA. The only issue is that 3/6months wait to get it.

modath:

Yep & since they are the new bride in town, heard they've started the 6mths thing... try to waka there & see, luck....nothing ventured, nothing gained..

Try Unity as well, cool bank.... wish you success in the waka, preggy & stress, not easy.

Hello house,

I just got back from seven banks...Diamond, UBA, Access, Zenith, GTB, Stanbic IBTC and Fidelity. All in Abuja.

Fidelity(beside Ceddi Plaza, central area) does PTA, they will put me on queue but you have to have an account with them and the account must have been in operation for a minimum of three months.

Stanbic IBTC(on the same street that has Rivers house in Central area) does as well. They said you will apply here in Abuja, be on queue and when cash is ready they will call you for pick up but cash can only be picked in Lagos head office in person. No proxy allowed.

I just taya!!

Please anyone know of any other bank/branch here in Abuja that does?

Refund with arik? Hmmnn..its best you just manage to fly back with them cos the refund amt will b less than N30k.

I used them when I went to give birth. On my return, wanted to change to Virgin so I asked for a refund. They said since its voluntary, then they will charge for it and also take out taxes. When I asked how much I wil get,it was like N20 somthng and virgin ticket was like N500k. I just closed my eye and flew back with arik o and swore never to fly them again both local and int'l.

jayjay4lyf:
.
As per arik ehn, i wish i cud use my 60kg wtout goin on the flight cos i cant go back with the flight, i cant stand the service, looking out for a direct flight to lagos frm houston... sm1 said i can ask for a refund for the other leg of my flight if i dont use it, pls explain how o. Mayb i can get a refund frm arik n il need to get frm whichever flight i return with.

@KDK, congrats to you and your wife.

But I can't see your detailed poat and budget sheet that everyone is talking about. Abi justwise has removed it. Pls I want to read the post and se the budget sheet.

For those going for visa interview lately,is Dr. Fagbohun' email and cost still valid for interview?

Thank you.

KDK:

She went this month and I used statements from 3 weeks ago. They will usually check for the flow of fund into the account. I don't know how I will defend a black market rate if quizzed on it. So I stuck to the official rate as I am officially going to exchange fund irrespective of the 'wonders' these banks are performing. If you or your hubby works in certain companies, they will probably not look at your financial statements as the companies speak for you.

You are so right at IsySleek, Those peeps at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC are just funny, I paid for expedited and the young man there asked me to come back next day, when I met my aunt who works there and told her I was leaving and that I had paid for Expedited Passport and was told to come back next day she was so angry, she went to them took back our money and gave back to us, and still we got the Passport same day, in fact she told me to go home that she will bring it when it is ready instead of me waiting.

Nigerians are truly the same everywhere, I was so shocked, and that their business centre in the embassy, very funny idea, everything is billed.

1. Fill your baby's name as applicant.
2. Yes scanned copy is accepted just make sure you print it coloured.
3. The letter should just state that you and hubby are baby'shower parents and you both give your consent to the issuance of naija passport to enable baby travel back to naija with mother. Then at the bottom of the letter, both of you should write your names and sign. So Huby shuld write two of you names (each name on both extremes of the letter. Let him sign his part then scan to you. You print and sin your own part.

Hi isysleek

Kindly help, I'm trying to apply for my baby's passport in DC.
1. If i'm filling the form online, am I going to put my name or my baby's name (as per the applicant) im asking this because of the places I saw email address etc
2. My husband is not around hence, I need a consent form from him. Will the embassy collect a scanned copy or he has to send the original copy from Nigeria
3. Do you have a sample of the consent letter you used (if you used one)
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by isysleek: 11:46pm On Jul 10, 2015
She's is talking about naija passport and not American passport. Scanned copy is accepted.

spagg56:

A scanned copy wont be accepted he ll av to notorize it here frm a lawyer nd send d original copy to you via post office or fedex.
call United air dat u want to add an infant to ur ticket. Infant less dan 2yrs re entitled to pay 10% of d fare.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by isysleek: 11:44pm On Jul 10, 2015
Scanned copy for consent letter for naija passport will be accepted at naija embassy in Washington. That's how I did mine. Just make sure you print it as coloured and let your hubby sign and leave space for you to sign as well. They won't even look at it to know if it's scanned or not. They will just collect it from you and put in a file. Read my post on naija passport in Washington,

fola62:
Hello House, Please I need your urgent help

1. Anybody who has used united airlines to travel back to Nigeria should assist on how to go about buying an infant's ticket (either 2ways or 1way) because one way is more expensive than two ways and someone told me ill also need to show a two way ticket for myself before id be allowed to purchase a two way ticket for my infant.

2. Also, consent form for obtaining a Nigerian Passport. My husband is not around and I intend obtaining a Nigerian passport in the Nigerian Embassy at Washington DC. Id like to know if a scanned copy of the consent form will be accepted at the embassy.

Please help.
Thank You.

Thanks. Just sent u a PM. Pls respond.

FinanceFitness:
Yes, we all got this bill separately. The good thing is you can settle it online with your card. They are the company responsible for all the blood tests carried out on you at the hospital. Your blood samples must have been taken when you got there, they would have taken samples for your baby too.

Hello house,
I just received a bill of almost $100 from Rio Grande Pathology Services,Dallas for tests they say they carried out on me and my baby. I don't knw who they are,I'm not aware of any of these tests carried out on me or my baby at the hospital.

Please has any1 who used doctoresparati in El Paso gotten any bill like this?
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by isysleek: 11:55pm On Jun 19, 2015
Once you have naija passport, you don't need a visa.

When returning to naija, just present both the naija passport and the American passport.

Visa is $350. That's what a couple of pple I know in El Paso paid for it. They used one Edwin guy in Atlanta. But I hear if you go to naija embassy yourself to do it,its less dan $200

Newmum15:
This is quiet informative. But are you saying you paid $232 for Naija passport alone? How much did you now pay for visa?
