Politics › We’re Under Threat For Endorsing Buhari – Christian Group by itetemi(op): 7:59pm On Feb 27, 2015 |
A Christian group, Northern Christian Leaders Eagle Eyes Forum, which endorsed the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), said the members now live under threat. Specifically, the group on Friday raised the alarm that its leaders’ lives were under serious threat following its endorsement of Buhari. Addressing journalists in Kaduna, Chairman of the Forum, Pastor Aminchi Habu, simply described the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan as a disappointment. Habu said in 2011, the Christian community overwhelmingly voted for Jonathan but regretted that the President had failed the entire nation, adding that Jonathan’s “poor performance” informed the body’s decision to support Buhari. He said the Forum could not be intimidated in any way to vote for Jonathan on the basis of religion or ethnicity. The Christian body argued that they believed that Buhari could rid the country of insecurity and underdevelopment. Habu said, “Our decision to endorse Buhari was informed by our patriotic commitment to build a free, fair and a secular society, where the inheritance should be justice to all. “After the endorsement, our members, especially the Chairman of this Forum, have continued to receive threats through phone calls and text messages, labelling them a sell-out, who have abandoned a Christian candidate in the person of President Goodluck Jonathan. “We supported the present government in 2003, 2007 and 2011. However, after critical analysis, the Forum decided to endorse General Muhammadu Buhari, based on the abysmal performance, the security challenges, outrageous corruption in public places, coupled with economic downturn in the country today. “Our enemies accused us of collecting N500m from General Buhari. This accusation is not only wrong, but a blatant lie from the pit of hell. We charged anybody with concrete evidence of any money, collected by anybody on behalf of the Forum, to come forward with such evidence. “The endorsement of Buhari was done publicly, and not secretly like our accusers will do; yet a segment of corrupt minds is employed to water down the good intention of the Forum, which is to build bridges and promote peaceful co-existence within our complex diversity. “We shall not betray our trust as religious leaders for any monetary consideration. We shall do everything humanly possible, within our calling, to protect the interest of our image. “We are therefore calling on Christians not to be deceived by these religious bigots and shun sentiment by voting the right candidate in the forthcoming general elections.” http://www.punchng.com/news/were-under-threat-for-endorsing-buhari-christian-group/ |

Politics › A 72 Year Old Man Has Nothing To Offer Nigerians – Dame Jonathan by itetemi(op): 7:46pm On Feb 27, 2015 |
The First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan yesterday stated that her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan deserved the support of women in the country because he had delivered on the promises he made to Nigerian women in 2011. She spoke during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Women Campaign Rally held in Makurdi, the state capital. Dame Jonathan said, “today pregnant women enjoy free antenatal care, we have realized our 35 percent affirmative action and more women are beginning to realize their potentials under this administration. She told the women to reject Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, “because a 72 year old man has nothing to offer Nigerians.” Wife of the Benue state Governor, Arch. Yemisi Suswam, in her speech lauded the efforts of Dame Jonathan for carrying women along, particularly in the actualization of 35 percent affirmative action for women. Mrs Suswam said Benue women were desirous of President Goodluck Jonathan’s return to Aso Rock because of his impressive achievement in all sectors of Nigeria’s economy. Wife of the Senate President, Mrs Helen Mark, in her speech said the women of the state would vote the PDP in all the elective positions, and urged all women to turn out en-masse to vote all PDP candidates in the elections. Governor Gabriel Suswam, on his part described the first lady as a reliable woman who had remained firm in supporting her husband to record resounding success in governance http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/a-72-year-old-man-has-nothing-to-offer-nigerians-dame-jonathan/#sthash.FyAjMDFM.dpuf |

raumdeuter: We can see its mostly aggrieved ungrateful guests that Lagos saved from the suffering, poverty, hopelessness and ineptitude of their home governors that are lamenting there.
Without Lagos they might have been used for nkwobi by their own people. Today another thousand of them would be seen fleeing the despair in their own home state
Go back to your state and vote Jonathan but as for Lagos, The governor has spoken.
Bi ewure be binu to fi ese ha ile, Se o fe bu olowo re je ni?
If a goat gets angry and scratches its foot on the floor, Can it bite its owner?
If all these guests get angry and rake till next year, what can they do about it? Other than to vote between two indigenous Lagosians Agbaje or Ambode?

alaoeri: Won't exchange abusive words with you, GMB is from Katsina & won't get 100% votes from there same goes for GEJ in Bayelsa, what Fashola meant by Lagosians won't for Jona simply means Jona can't win Lagos which is obvious & that doesn't mean Jona won't get little votes, am referring to those attacking Fashola 90% are from a certain region that hates APC because of ethno/religious sentiments. you dey mind the clowns, they don't like orderliness, they prefer to sell their spareparts on the road, their okirika shops in the front of the road and park anywhere they like.they don't like to be in an orderly place.clowns, they should vote anyhow they like, apc go still win and buhari go win lagos as well.we dash pdp and apga their vote. |

Darlduchi: Despite the news and declassified informations at your finger tip, yet most Nigerians especially Christians have failed to realize that this global Jihad is deeply rooted in politics.Middle east Muslims were considered educated and tolerant of other religion but what the commentator didn't know was that they were just helpless. Now that they had their hands on sophisticated killer machines, Christians and their place of worship has become non existence especially in Syria and Iraq. In the other hand African Muslims especially Nigeria muslims are even far less Tolerant as they have faithfully demonstrated by the killing and maiming of non Muslims especially in the North from time. They started with knives and machetes, and like their Arab relatives they laid hold on mass killing machines and now look at the result. The Muslims has shown you daft Christians a clue of what is about to happen to you yet you remain daft and clueless.
This is election isn't about corruption, nor good governance, rather it is about consolidation a gradual and total islamization of Nigeria. Islamic world has stake on it. Before you come up with your daft and unreasonable argument of the population of Nigeria Christian and how impossible it is to Islamize Nigeria, need i remind you that Nigeria does not have to be 100% Muslim to be totally Islamize rather all it takes is power and the control of it thereof. If you are a Christian and still practices your faith you have an obligation to be your brothers keeper. Your fellow brothers were burnt alive 500 of them in one church at a time by the same people of faith who are mesmerizing you with the word change yet non with a discerning mind. If you can not fight physically are you also helpless with your voice and vote?
If you are a Christian out there, stand up and defend what God has entrusted in your hand, be the voice of thousands of Christians dead and buried in mass graves all over the North and East and West. You Christians are smarter than this, you are the light and the salt of this world. another crap from the jittery party.election is not about corruption, can you imagine. GOD cannot be mocked, he is not in support of corruption. |

eastman11: One thing that is certain is that PDP will win Lagos and the presidency. For those of you who reside in Lagos you only need to interact with dafo, taxi and okada drivers to understand what i mean. Also interact with non indigens who constitute 65% of the population to understand what i mean. Elections don't take place in social media. another joke, non indigenes 65 percent.yet una never produce ordinary deputy governor. |
