leofab: Much to discern fact from myth You know nothing about facts and myths. In Yoruba mythology, myths are meant to hide spiritual mystery, a reality that may not be explained literally. For example, "when Orunmila was traveling from heaven to earth, he got to Ejigbomẹkun market where he met the witches... and this conversation ensured..." Ejigbomẹkun market is meant to represent the astral plane, Orunmila a messenger. Same goes with all spiritual books including the Bible. |

Guy, no amount of certification can cover for a degree. You still have a lot of years ahead in life so you should be thinking bigger.
In this our IT industry, certification is only an addition. Without a degree, you would be sabotaging your own future. The case might be a little different if you're in the USA where people are employed based on skills and not necessarily degree. But even in United State, as an immigrant, your chances are very slim without a degree.
2. University isn't just a place to get a degree, it's also a networking environment. You can never tell who you'll meet in school. Maybe one of your classmates might have the opportunity to work at Mobil and help you get in, or another classmates might show you the way to get a masters degree in the US and you end up moving all your family over. Even if you decide to be an entrepreneur, university friends and colleagues are always invaluable. This is a tip: The higher you go in life, the more people judge you based on your association. People will be reluctant to give you some opportunity if they get to realise "he no go school".
3. University isn't just for a degree, it's also a place to learn culture. When I say culture, I mean work ethics and composure. Those difficult days in school are meant to teach you never to give up in your dreams. You also learn how successful people work. Most people don't get to realize that successful people are workaholics. No one can do shakara for you after going through those nerve wrenching experience of a university.
Get a degree no matter how long. You're not getting the degree for today but for latter opportunities in life. Get certifications with it. The sky is your limit. |

Thank you for this comment. livebyday: I respect a man of honor who stands by his convictions
This man has put to Shame the narative that goes "if you can't beat them join them"
We need more people like this in Nigeria
Case in point : Oshiomole, Keyamo, et al
You either stand for something, or fall for everything in life
Cheers
Edited
For those who don't understand
They are trying to silence him with an appointment where he will get big salary and bonuses and do nothing till his focus shifts to protecting his wealth hence he becomes like them
Again case Keyamo , Oshiomole et Al
Life isn't a Hollywood movie where one man refuses to bow and suddenly the whole nation starts singing and dancing change and revolution. It's more complex than that This man isn't a Mary Sue! What can one man do in a ministry where from the administration , to accounts , to operations, to management are all corrupt and caucuses of thieves who only care about looting ?
If the government was sincere and not just intent on silencing his criticisms they should have appointed him Minister then he can effect change...an adviser can do nothing but earn fat checks and bonuses
Be realistic he didn't he best thing

That video look like a typical aluta. It doesn't warrant using live bullet on those kids. We all went through that phase. Police used to use tear gas and we throw it back at them. We won't be adding value to the world today if police used live bullet on us. They need to take it easy with the kids. It's a phase, they'll all outgrow that stage. People don't kill their teenage kids because they're stubborn. Every teenager must demonstrate that character either positively or negatively. Dpharisee: Show this video to their parents so that they can see the kind of children they sent to a higher institution.
Throwing stones and projectiles at armed security agents is madness, Aluta spirit can be destructive, we did it in our days, burnt several vehicles and destroyed facilities.
The school was shutdown for 2 months, then the school authorities calculated the value of all that was destroyed and imposed it on us. Resumption followed this sequence. 1st week: 100 Level (novices and Jambites) and Final year students (eager to graduate) = very peaceful group. 2nd Week: 400L (many of whom just returned from SIWES or Industrial Attachment) = We dont want trouble group. After one month when Lectures have gone far: 200L = semi trouble group Finally 300L = troublesome and hot headed group.
For you to enter the school gate or attend lectures on return you must present your receipt of payment for damages. We hear am that year. After we graduated, I learnt that Aluta can be successfully done without violence.
Las las, that lady on blue skirt at the end of the video, I just hope that the fence rod didnt affect that place you are thinking |

"which of course you're not" Another assertion. Every leader have their shortcomings. Obasanjo is a nation builder. You said Tinubu is not mentioned in the article. If you live in Lagos, you'll understand Lagos and APC politics. Sanwo Olu is just an headmaster. Tinubu is the governor of Lagos. I'm very close to APC govt in Lagos and I voted for Sanwo Olu. Ignorance. Obasanjo removed all the toll gates because the money were been diverted into private pocket. His govt still had enough to clear Nigeria's debt and invest in infrastructure. Tinubu is just trying to enrich himself at the expense of the Nigerian people and amassing more money to buy election in 2023. sexiestharam: It is better. I better pay for a good road than die on a free bad road. In short, let all Federal roads be commercialised. Most Nigerians won't mind paying extra to ply a good, comfortable and safe road. |

This is a fulish comment. We're talking about human lives and you're defending nonsense. There are plenty of diplomatic ways to handle these issues. That's why people don't vote for senile and lifeless people as leaders. By the time you call together a few diplomatic experts, you'll find a way. grandstar: The Saudi situation was different. There are no similarities at all
The Saudi case was a lady caught for drug trafficking by the security forces and sentenced to death by the courts. This was not a faceless and murderous like it was in South Africa.
South Africa is different. These are spontaneous attacks on defenseless foreigners by a murderous crowd. The South African police can not even reduce the high crime rate there, is it xenophobic attacks they can now stop.
These attacks will continue. Perhaps, only if international pressure from the West, especially from the US can progress begin to happen.
The US will also have to the give the South African government some carrot such as a large amount of aid and also freer access for South African made products to enter into the United States. |
