How I Survived Fire that Gutted
my House - Obasanjo.
*“If it had happened at night, I would have been a
dead person by now".
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday
recounted what transpired during the fire
incident that gutted a part of his palatial building
in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, last week,
saying he would have died in the inferno.
According to Obasanjo, if not for divine
intervention that made the fire to break out in
the afternoon and not midnight, he would have
been suffocated to death and become history.
Obasanjo, who was Chairman, Board of Trustees
(BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
disclosed this while receiving a delegation of
executive members of the party from the Lagos
State chapter, at his hilltop residence.
He was full of praises to God for sparing his life
and for the opportunity to witness a new year,
stressing that the smoke that beclouded his room
would have killed him.
While recounting the experience to the
delegation that was led by the Chairman of the
Lagos State chapter of the PDP, Mr. Tunji Shele,
Obasanjo said many documents and consumables
were destroyed in the inferno.
He said: “The fire, which occurred in the office of
my Private Secretary, resulted in thick smoke,
which pervaded my bedroom.
“If it had happened at night, I would have been a
dead person by now.
“I want to thank all, and all those who called me
on phone both within and outside the country.
“Let us appreciate the mercy and kindness of
God.
“There are many, we started last year together,
but no more today.
“We are not mocking them, but to extol God.
“In fact, that I am able to stand erect is God’s
blessing.
“Many of my age group cannot stand well.
“I am not mocking them, but I am thanking God.”
While disclosing that he continued to receive
telephone calls from within and outside
Nigeria over the incident, the statesman prayed
that the New Year would be a glorious one for the
country.

Hello sir,am using curve7,I bought it like one month plus ago,but d problem I observed from like 4days ago is that d fone generates much heat whether in use or not.I was advice to remove d battery for a whole nite,I did,but it still persisted.I was also adviced to switched to 2g only,also advice to go n reload d os.I have done all this,yet,it still persist.what should I do?tanx for ur prompt reply.

D only error I noticed in dis video is about the date,I.e feb 14,2009.by dis time,we never had flat screen monitor,even if it existed,not in Nigeria.so,to me,that's an unnoticed error by d director.but above all,d video is tight.

7 . ILLBLISS : The ‘Ibo Boy’ finally returned withhis A-game in 2012 after a subtle absence. Although he spent most of the year grooming R&B singer Chidinma who is currently under hisGoretti label, he released his ‘Oga Boss’ albumwith the hits ‘Anamachi Kwanu’ feat Phyno and Heartbeats feat Banky W.
6. NAETO C : Mr Super C kept it pushing this year, the most remarkable thing was signing on as a Hennessey Artistry headliner along with M.I. He also released his ‘Tony Montana’ single and remix with a big budget video featuring D’banj. Away from music a bit; he tied the knot with his beau Nicole at a high society wedding.
5. REMINISCE : In 2012, Mr Remilekun Safaru finally got the respect he’s been clamouring for by working hard on his skills and street image. Being one of the two Yoruba-lingo rappers to dominate this year, Remi pulled stunts with the release of his debut ‘Book of Rap Stories’ which brought the street anthems ‘Kako bi chicken’ and ‘2musssh’. He dedicatedtwo weeks throwing jabs at another rapper Vector and spent the latter part of the year performing outside the country.

M.I : Jude Abaga takes fourth spot for releasing the ‘dopest’ mixtape of the year ‘Illegal Music 2’ which he launched on his website MIABAGA.comand renewing his contract as VP at his label Chocolate City in April (dispelling rumours he was leaving the label, following the launch of his Loopy Music label). 3. OLAMIDE : The Yoruba-speaking lyricist took the world by storm, returning with a powerful sophomore, what we might call the rap album of the year. He parted way with CODED Tunes and launched his own label YBNL Nation working with Tony Nwankolo as his manager.
2. VECTOR : V.E.C was quite busy all year – performing, recording or touring. He won two awards each at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards as well as the coveted ‘Lyricist on the roll’ at The Headies. In 2012, he also recordedand released a song and video with Jamaican dancehall singer Mavado. He has also recorded with rapper DMX. He released his ‘Bar Racks’ mixtape only to drop the album’ The Second Coming’ in December.

The rapper clearly made the most money this year,performing back-to-back in and out of the country – the after effect of his debut ‘Everybody Loves Ice Prince’. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR : That title goes to upcoming rapper Boogey who only in 2012 featured on Modenine, M.I and Terry tha Rapman’s mixtapes. He successfully released his mixtape ‘ Artificial Intelligence ’ and reportedly signed a deal before calling 2012 wrap.

Robbery is the Only Job I Can Do – Arrested Robber
“You again”? This was the question posed by an operative of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, Lagos, on sighting a member of a robbery gang that was arrested recently by his colleagues.
The suspect, Kolawole Ajayi, was discovered to have been arrested on two occasions by the Squad for robbery and charged to court. Between 2006 till date, he was discovered to have served five years in jail. But after serving each jail term, rather than turning a new leaf, the recalcitrant suspect would go back to his own vomit, more hardened.
Hear him: “I am a School Certificate holder and also computer literate. I was formerly selling computer and phone accessories at Computer Village but I had no shop. All I was doing then, was to hawk them along the street of Computer Village. That was since 2006. Along the line, I started buying stolen goods and laptops from some of my friends in computer village. You see, most ofthe items they sell along the street in Computer Village are stolen. But because I was making huge profits from it, I could not resist the temptation ofcontinuing.
“I was arrested in 2006 by policemen from Mosafejo division for buying a stolen laptop. I was charged to the Igbosere High court but was granted bail, after awaiting trial for two months in the prison.”
His mere visit to the prison apparently opened his eyes to other acts of criminality,as barely had he returned than he graduated into other forms of robbery.
Other suspected members of the gang “In 2007, after I was released, I got a gun and started robbing people at gun point. It was a one man’s show. I stole laptops and phones at gunpoint. But again, I was arrested and charged tothe Ikeja High Court, from where I was remanded in Kirikiri prison where I spent two years”.
After serving his two years jail term, he reportedlycontinued what he knew how to do best and as expected, was arrested, charged to court and ended up in his second home, the Kirikiri prison forthe third time!
Like a dog that would always return to its vomit, the Ogun state-born suspect who was released after one year, continued his heinous crime. But this time around, he decided to form his own gang which specialized in armed banditry.
“After I was released in 2012, I went to the African shrine in May, where I met Olalekan, Femi, Sylvester and Lucky. We got friendly and exchanged phone numbers and from there I formeda gang of five. So far we have operated in areas like Ikosi, Ketu, Ogudu, Dolphin estate and Magodo.
And our targets are usually residential homes. Before operation, we would just be roaming round the area until we see a building we could easily penetrate”
The gang as gathered, started operating in June. In the month of December, they reportedly intensified their operation in preparation for the Christmas celebration. But unfortunately for them,they met their water loo, following their arrest.
The gang as gathered, stormed a building at Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, in the first week of December, where they dispossessed their victims ofcash and other valuables.
But while the operation was on, one of the residents was said to have alerted policemen attached to Dolphin division, who stormed the scene. Sighting the policemen, the robbers scampered in different directions for escape. But unfortunately for one of them later identified as Chibueze, he was shot in the thigh as he attempted to scale through the fence.
He was transferred to SARS and during interrogation mentioned the names of other members of his gang. Sources at SARS said it took them two weeks to trail Kolawole. His arrest, reportedly led to those of four members of the gang.
Asked why he did not resign from robbery, he replied: “ Robbery is the only job I can do. My several visits to the prison have hardened me. So, Ican’t do a decent job other than robbery.”
