Politics / Re: FG To Invest In Hydro, Solar For Better Power Supply by Itsekiriman101: 8:29am On May 24, 2016 |
This is what you get when you feel you have the monopoly of power. The Niger Delta is the looser at the end of the day. The oil that we so pride ourselves on is daily being made irrelevant because the world has had enough of the stranglehold of oil on their lives and are now seeking alternative sources of energy. Oh Niger Delta!!!! At the time when our oil becomes worthless, where do we turn to? Is it the lands that we have destroyed with the spillages from pipelines that we bombed with our own hands? Is it the river that we have polluted with our nefarious activities? Do we turn to other regions? When we have burnt the bridges that good neighbourliness would have strengthened? We cannot even farm our lands because we have destroyed it with the hydrocarbons that should have been a blessing to us. Niger Deltans think again. We cannot exist alone, stop the destruction of our land. If we are not developed, it is purely our fault. Anambra does not get 13% derivation but see the development taking place there; same with Lagos, even Ogun state. Wake up, wake up before we destroy our future and that of our children. 6 Likes |
Education / Re: WAEC: Latest Ranking Of Nigerian Schools by Itsekiriman101: 3:19pm On May 05, 2016 |
I hope that many of these schools got their ratings purely on merit. So many stories of schools assisting their students to pass exams after bribing WAEC invigilators just because they want to get high ratings and by extension grab more gullible Nigerians. Or else how do you explain the inability of their star students to write a simple letter without grammatical errors. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Fayose Adresses Business Community In China. See Photos by Itsekiriman101: 12:47pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
Fayose was not speaking to anyone. He just posed behind the podium of a trade fair center speaking (rather not speaking) to a disorganised hall of attendees. Ekiti people should wake up; this man is just taking them for a ride. How many projects has he commissioned since he came into power? Look at Willie Obiano's achievements within the short time he has been in power and yet Ananmbra is not a major oil producing state (if it is at all) It is easy to criticise, but only when you can show evidence of being more successful than the subject of your criticism. Fayose should go and develop Ekiti state. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Do Nigerians remember how many years it took before President Obama was able to locate and kill Osama bin Laden? Security experts say that once a kidnap person is not located within 48 hours, the possiblility of getting the kidnapped alive is very slim talkless of 2 years. We need to be patient and hopeful. I trust that our security personnel are doing the best they can inspite of the obvious challenges. I also belive God that these girls will be rescued alive. I pray it happens speedily. |

Dimienedonkz: So because he is your kinsman, it makes it right for him to be corrupt? Until we stop being tribalistic about corruption, we can't make progress. Are you proud to say that your late governor had to dress like a woman because he was trying to avoid arrest? Whoever in Nigeria, from whatever tribe is robbing the poor masses of our God given wealth, may they meet wth the wrath of God. Nigeria must be free. |
Politics / Re: Senate Defers Passage Of 2016 Budget To Tuesday by Itsekiriman101: 11:38am On Mar 17, 2016 |
modath: i agree 100% with the writer above. i wish Nigerians will not be blinded by our unwillingness to leave the past of who won or who lost the last election or foolish support for someone who is using the passage of the budget as a bargaining chip to try and escape his trial at the CCT. NNigeria is bigger than one individual or group. I would have expected that Nigerians will show their displeasure to the houses of assembly for holding this nation to ransom by not passing the budget as promised; but who do we blame? BUHARI. Is Buhari now the legislature? The executive cannot do any meaningful work without an approved budget. The longer they delay the passage of the budget, it is we the common innocent Nigerians that will suffer. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: N’assembly Committee Detects Fresh Flaws In 2016 Budget by Itsekiriman101: 11:12am On Mar 17, 2016 |
Nigerians should be very careful not to play into the hands of the enemies of this nation. Certain things that should be observed from the budgetary process this year: 1. it was transmitted to the houses earlier than previous buget proposals 2. This budget has gone through more scrutiny than has ever been done prior; this in itself is change. 3. Punishment for those who thought it was" business as usual" and decided to pad the budget was instantaneaous 4. Most budgets in the past were passed in record time without much scrutiny after "Ghana must go"bags went into the boot of ..... However, this time, there is no mention of such. I hope this is not why they keep shifting the date of passing it. While not being an apologist of this government, i think it is progress in the right direction for the country. Infuture, anyone thinking of padding anything will think twice before doing so. And for those in government, it signals a wake up call for them to do things meticulously. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Federal Allocation For Lagos For January 2016 by Itsekiriman101: 2:50pm On Feb 25, 2016 |
Some commenters on this forum amaze me. The total allocation is just 5.4 billion Naira to cater for a population of about 20 million people and you say that is too much? The amount for each Lagosian is just N270 !!!!. Please criticise with sense. 6 Likes |
Crime / The Robbery Of Nigerians By VISA And MASTERCARD by Itsekiriman101: 9:22pm On Jan 29, 2016 |
I am amazed that Nigerians have not spoken out about the daylight robbery being carried out by both MASTERCARD and VISA CARD. Using Mastercard today for a transaction in Ghanian Cedi, i was surprised to see that they exchanged N81 for 1 Cedi !!!!!. If we say the Naira has depreciated against the Dollar, Pound and Euro, has it also depreciated against the Cedi. I read of someone who also did a POS transaction for payment in Pounds at N400/1 Pound. My question is "who regulates these agents"?. Why is their price even higher than the black market? I am convinced that our banks have even started profiting from the Western Union and Moneygram waiver. Everytime you get to the bank to ask for this service, they say they have exceeded their limit. Many parents whose children school in West Africa have almost been frustrated in this respect. My appeal to the Federal Goverment is to revisit this issue and deliver us from these capitalists whose interest is to increase the sufferings of innocent Nigerians. God bless nigeria |

Politics / Re: Ahmed Sanni In Court For Corruption Today (Photos) by Itsekiriman101: 3:10pm On Jan 21, 2016 |
I wish commentators on Nairaland stop this childish attitude of looking at serious national issues through the lenses of tribalism. It will get us nowhere. Americans first of all look at themselves as Americans and not the polarisation we see here. To the matter at hand, the man should be tried in a sharia court. These are the people who use religion to beguile the people. Hypocrites who cannot live by the rules that they claim to promote. I remember how this same man almost tore this country apart with his calls for sharia. If he is found guilty, may they cut of his arms, legs and the weapon with which he has been committing paedophilia. Rubbish!!! |
Politics / Re: More Looters Will Be Jailed This Year; Nothing Wrong In Handcuffing Metuh – EFCC by Itsekiriman101: 1:59pm On Jan 21, 2016 |
coldsummer: i BEG TO DISAGREE. EFCC cannot jail anybody; they can only investigate, arrest and prosecute. It is the duty of the judiciary to adjudicate. However, what i see is that it seems as if the judiciary is greatly compromised and has become a stumbling block to the dispensation of justice which ordinarilly, they are supposed to promote. Nigerians and the Nigerian judicial Council must arise to deal with all corrupt judges like just happened in Ghana where an investigative journalist opened the dirty can of worms in the Ghanian judiciary. We must stop playing to the gallery and stand up to defeat this cancer which has dealt more badly with us than Ebola and Lassa fever put together. |

Where are the children of Kanu? Why are we so gullible as to allow so called secessionists kill our children, brothers and sisters while protecting their own? At the slightest opportunity, they take off as refugees or fugitives and enjoy the largesse of other nations while the people who fought suffer. I will say that the Ibos have more to loose from all this chaos than other tribes; the same way the Northerners lost a whole lot from the Boko Haram nonsense. No aspect of this nation can succeeed in isolation. Have we not learnt from the civil war? Those relatives that we lost, what is their reward? I appeal to our youths to spend their God given strength to pursue things that will better their future rather than create kingdoms that politicians will reap from without sowing. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE. 1 Like |

Religion / Re: Pastor Adeboye: A Prophet Or An Imposter - Sahara Reporters by Itsekiriman101: 9:50pm On Jan 17, 2016 |
The writer evidently is an athiest and probably is from the evolutionists. I have the following comments on his post: 1.It is only the fool that will doubt the existence of God. The whole of creation declares that God is and will continue to be. 2. God speaks... He has always spoken and still speaks today through various human and supernatural mediums. The Bible is full of all that God spoke in the past and still confirms today. I refer the poster to Mathew chapter 24 and tell me if God did not see today over 2000 years ago. 3. I don't blame him for thinking that Adeboye is among the myriads of fake preachers that milk seekers of God. This was also prophesied as one of the things that will happen in the last days 2 Timothy 3:-10. However, not every man of God is after money. While i will not hold brief for any man, the writer must be careful not to group every man of God as a thief; the same way not every doctor is a quack because of the misdeeds of some. 4. fund raising is not a crime anywhere in the world especially when the proceeds from such exercise are for a noble purpose. World leaders raise funds, moslem leaders raise funds; must the church now fund it's activities with saliva? money has always and will continue to remain a medium of exchange. The violent activtities of the Islamic fundamentalists are being funded by who and to what purpose 5. i suggest that the writer gives his life to Christ; maybe then he can understand how miracles happen. I have been a pataker of miraculous divine healing in Jesus'name. I have seen others healed and delivered in that name. I have been divinely protected from accidents by that same name. 6 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: The Truth About The Demolition Of Owonifari Market At Oshodi Lagos - Joe Igbokwe by Itsekiriman101: 3:29pm On Jan 13, 2016 |
Nobody has said that the Igbos must stay in Lagos. Like the saying goes, "if you must live in Rome, you must behave like the Romans". Lagos is the home of the Lagosians; you cannot tell them how to build or beautify their home land just the same way they cannot dictate to you in the east. The painful thing is that these demolitions are necessary to make Lagos the model town that it should be. It is people who do not want good change that will continue to desire the use of pit latrines when water system toilets are more hygenic and modern. Igbos should stop the siege mentality. Lagos is for all of us. They MUST obey the laws and government of the land. Joe Igbokwe, you have spoken well 8 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: NGE Confirmed They Took N50m From Jonathan, Claims Unfairly Targeted By Buhari by Itsekiriman101: 5:12pm On Jan 07, 2016 |
BERNIMOORE: There are marked differences in this matter: 1. NGE is not an individual profit making body; but a body of elders of the journalism profession. This day is a profit making body owned by Nduka Obaigbena sole 2. The donation of N50m was done towards the building of their secretariat (which has been completed) in public and reported widely. Obaigbenas one was done in secret and only exposed during the probe. 3. For an individual to have been given N630m as "compensation" for what Was the Government of the time claiming responsibility for the bombing? Why compensate? Or were they paying for some other thing? As a Limited company, should he not have insurance? What he alone got is over ten time what a body of elders got. Does Nduka Obaigbena even pay tax? I think we should not be pettey with this matter. Until people begin to suffer the consequences for corruption, we will not move forward. God bless Nigeria |
Religion / Re: TB Joshua’s Prophesy On North Korea by Itsekiriman101: 4:48pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
Nostradamus predicted a lot of things in his day that came to pass. Does that make him a prophet of God? We should be careful to separate divination from prophesy. Just as God has the original word contained in the Bible, there are a lot of fake diviners showing themselves as men of God. In these last days they will be many. People, return to the Bible and renew your relationship with God; he will speak to you and show you who his true servants are. God will hold you responsible for your decision and opinions, not any man of God. |
Politics / Re: N50m:Editor’s Guild Will Respond To Obaigbena’s Allegations Against Me – Adesina by Itsekiriman101: 4:26pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
egift: What Nigerians are turning this discussion to just shows me that a country gets the rulers it deserves. Maybe the thieves in GEJ's government is what Nigeria deserves. Or else how do you explain that a leader decided to fight the hydra headed monster that has ravaged this nation for so many years (corruption) and we with our own mouths are fighting the leader. The Federal Government (and not the NSA) donated N50m to the guild of Editors for their secretariat. For Obaigbena to be bringing this as a discourse is a ploy to divert our attention from the real issue of the hundreds of millions that he collected for his own company. NGE is not a company but a group of Editors which has a governing board. It is not and cannot be owned by Adesina. |
Politics / Re: Dasukigate: Femi Adesina Collected N50m – Obaigbena by Itsekiriman101: 4:00pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
openmine: I see you did not quite grasp the point i was making. The so called N50 million was donation for the guilds secretariat. How can it be said that it was given to Femi? Relating this to AIT does not make sense. First of all, AIT is solely owned by Dokpesi; same thing with This Day newspapers. The Guild of Editors is not owned by Femi but a groups of Editors of various newspaper and run by a governing board. Let's compare apple wit apple please. |
Politics / Re: Suicide Bomber Kills 5 Refugees In Borno State IDP Camp. Graphic Photo by Itsekiriman101: 2:27pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
Every suicide bomb we ask "where is Lai Mohammed". Suicide bombing is a tactic used by terrorists who have lost the ability to carry out conventional fights. That they succeed in bringing down soft targets once in a while does not mean that they are winning; rather it shows that their numbers are greatly depleted. Nigerians must see terrorism as a war against every Nigerian and not just a political party or office holder. Please pray for our armed and intelligence forces. I believe that the total end of terrorism is at hand. |
Politics / Re: Plunderers Will Vomit Loot Says Buhari In February 1984(pic) by Itsekiriman101: 12:51pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
A man's antecedents show his innate character. Buhari has been and will always be an anti coruption activist. Those who could not stand the heat then organised his overthrow. Those same criminals are still lurking in the shadows trying to do the same again. Nigerians must never allow it. Corruption must die so that Nigeria can live. I am amazed at how people comment on Nairaland. Femi Adesina as an individual is different from the office of the Chairman of the Guild of Editors. If the Federal Government under GEJ decided to donate N50m to the Guild of Editors for the building of their secretatriat which was widely publicised in all media; how does that equate with Femi collecting N50m from Dasuki I see a dying man (Dasuki; Obaigbena) trying to draw others even the innocent with him. Nigerians should be carefu. if we must fight corruption, we must be willing to support this government and all supporters of anti corruption; except we are saying that Nigeria is a hopeless case that cannot attain a corruption free status. |
