Also, I hardly take data from Parrot Analytics seriously these days. It's metric of rating is somewhat shady and not so reliable. It's largely inconsistent across various programs.

All shows grow by popularity as the seasons progressed. Abi you think say Game of Thrones na one year e take build that hype. Even The Boys that burst the charts everywhere earlier this year, I can categorically tell you that we that watched it in its first season was way fewer than number of people watching and hyping it now.

What I saw with AOT huge blast in popularity earlier this year is because it became readily accessible for viewers everywhere. It was on Hulu, Disney+, Funimation, Crunchyroll everywhere. It's distribution improved.

I said the same thing...
AOT has been big over the years...

But the S4 hype grew even far higher than it ever reached....
Part of it was it's marketing... especially being marketed as the final season...


For The Boys S3, you can definitely tell how much marketing they did for it...
The show was popular for the first 2 seasons but the hype for S3 was crazy...everyone was jumping on it...

They launched social media campaigns and official accounts promoting it everyday, if you follow The Boys content on social media, you'll be amazed by the amount of marketing S3 had...

It's just that Bleach is not as popular among NEWER anime fans compared to the rest of the Big 3...but it was definitely among the shows most anime fans watched back in the days with Naruto and One Piece

For Demon Slayer, I don't even know where the hype came from...I never heard of it before the anime adaptation...
Then all of a sudden it became very big and the manga started breaking record sales...
From what I hear, Demon Slayer sales was sparked by the anime

This was in 2020 before TYBW's anime adaptation got announced in 2021. That's how big the fanbase was before the first trailer was even released. Before MAPPA came into the picture, CSM already had a multi-million strong fanbase.
I'm not denying MAPPA 's influence. I'm simply asking you not to exaggerate it.

Marvel have the biggest fanbase of any cinematic universe presently. No one comes close.
MCU has been wildly successful over the years and it's mostly due to its fans and not necessarily has to do with good marketing.
Marvel can make a movie about shitty characters with shitty scripts and ppl will still turn up to watch. Not about marketing.

Eg Despite the shitty trailers and complaints from fans didn't stop ppl from watching She-Hulk and Thor: Love and Thunder.

The fanbase that's why you'd see ppl flock more to Batman content over something like Black Adam that I feel was over marketed. Despite no Batman in Joker, no action, an unusual and unfamiliar story, and critics initially shitting on it, people still flocked theaters in 2019 and it delivered a banger.

MCU no doubt has a huge fanbase...bigger than DCEU but marketing also adds to it...
Look at the marketing of Black Panther, became like an anthem for Blacks around the world...

CSM is one of the most promoted anime in recent time....

MAPPA is just as good at marketing as other popular anime studio. There's nothing exceptional about their marketing. They make announcements and release trailers just like every other studio. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The fanbase was already waiting since the trailer release was announced and they started a hype roll that snowballed into the massive reception the anime is getting now.

Like I asked, has another trailer from MAPPA popped up on your feed? Of course not. Because they haven't released anything else with a big fanbase yet. You didn't get the trailer for Dance Dance Danseur and you're not going to have the trailer for the Campfire Cooking Isekai pop up on your feed because none of them are pulling a million views in an hour or 7 million in 11 hours. Dance Dance Danseur's trailer never got up to a million views up till now and the anime itself was well received when it was aired in the Spring season, but still remained underwatched.

Chainsaw Man wasn't as popular as some other manga? NAME THOSE MANGA. Let's see which of them are new.

What was the last new MAPPA anime with big hype? Jujutsu Kaisen. Another title that already had a big manga fanbase.

MAPPA are not the kings of hype. They don't contribute any more hype to a project than any other popular studio.

Movie does well to show the futility of war and it's tragedy and how the govt toyed with the life of soldiers
However I personally struggle with character appearances and looks in German movies and series and it happened here again...
I can barely recognize or differentiate the looks of characters.

Also the movie imo doesn't do enough to focus on the characters...instead it's focusing on the broader picture and the war so much that it feels more like a documentary...

I personally still prefer war movies like 71: Into the Fire which focused on characters and helped the audience empathize with them.

Someone people were overhyping it here...

And you can't tell me Jujutsu Kaisen had a better first 3 episodes than CSM...
That's not possible...I love JJK but no way it's first 3 are better...there was barely any backstory or anything by episode 3...
Episode 3 was where Nobara was introduced...I watch reaction videos of JJK so I remember it well

I used a VPN on YouTube and thing just unlinked all my downloaded videos. I knew it might react that way cos It has happened some years back (2018) but didn't anticipate the shït I saw.
I thought things might have changed but e be like YouTube brain no dey change.

Normally, back then it'd just refresh the thumbnails and make the vids available to you after you switch off the VPN and use a normal connection. Takes little data.
I had forgotten I had amassed a large library of offline videos in YouTube over time. I had like 304 vids. I Underestimated the size of my library.
Instead of it to just refresh my videos back to normal, it started redownloading them from ground up despite having the core file in its memory.

I had to delete several videos permanently make e no consume my data finish. I lost some videos I would have loved to keep a little longer. From 300+ vids to now 108 videos.

For this Naija wey data price don hike na en YouTube do me this strong thing. Life no balance. E be like say na to start the pain of downloading my YouTube content permanently into my phone instead of YouTube's app.

Make I just use the 2GB+ of entertainment wey I download console myself.

I use an external YouTube downloader called VIDMATE so I cannot relate ...

But sorry ehn...next time use an external downloader or a site

Imagine a Bleach fan complaining about 3 episodes of a show..

Bleach that almost bored me out the first 16 episodes...until the appearance of Byakuya and Renji

Even Naruto didn't get good till episode 20

It took me about 150 episodes to get into One Piece...

But criticizing a show that has one of the best pilot episodes I've seen this year in anime after just 3 episodes...wtf

don't know what you are on about but this is how bleach animation tends to be, it's the plot that normally carries the show and once in a while depending on how massive the fight scene is, they tend to up the budget and animation for that particular episode... am not being toxic more like defensive, a lot of CSM fans were going on about how the show was going to blow bleach away, so far so good, I haven't been impressed! the fight scenes sef tend to annoy me cos I cant see the rawness of the fight, the chainsaw just slices through and boom the villain is dead! and there's blood everywhere, it's not like jujutsu kaisen where you get to see a fight scene in all its glory and plot is dumb so far, the dude motivation is to touch a girl boob! not doing it for me tho, sh!t, I like boochi the rock and the new gundam more than CSM

my issue with the new bleach animation is how colourful it is ...
Especially how Hueco Mundo looks and how the characters look ...
That's a personal issue as most people like it anyway...


For CSM...all you're saying is blind hate...
We've seen Denji's backstory and understand why he is that way...besides he will start growing and learning probably in today's episode sef...
I've read the manga so I know what's to come...
Unfair when you're using a character flaw to judge an entire show...even other characters acknowledge how Denji is...u can see how easily Power used him as a result of him being naive...
He will grow

Does CSM have peak story? No
But the manga is damn good...the imagery, visual storytelling and characters...and of course the craziness

Season 1 will probably end with the Katana arc ...a pretty crazy arc but still nowhere near the arcs that are to come in later seasons


And finally, stop comparing Bleach that had 366 episodes to get us into characters and so needs no new character introduction...to another show that is just beginning with 3 episodes out


I love bleach but if we compare the first 3 episodes of Bleach to CSM you know CSM blows it out of the water...
