Two suspected bandits have been killed after farmers bravely resisted an attack at Lata Nna village in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident occurred around 7:50 a.m. on Monday 26 October 2026, while the farmers were going to their farms.

The attackers are reported to have opened fire on the farmers, who then responded and engaged them in a fierce gun duel.

Two of the suspected bandits were killed during the confrontation, while two others fled the scene.

The incident comes following previous attacks in the area by bandits, which made residents of Lata Nna take precautionary measures when going to their farms.

Further details of the incident including identities of the attackers are being awaited from the security authorities.
