Omoapena:Assuming you know the meaning of your moniker. Isn't this hypocritical coming from Omoapena. If he had shown himself on a mountain casting and binding, I am sure you won't go into the advice mode. |
Funkyswagzz:Nope. He is there as a billionaire white man philanthropist. He doesn't belong there. |
ComeToJesus:That means you don't even know the god you worship. It is about time you research the history of yahweh/els |
I see a new market legislation coming. |
yinkus6750:I supposed you have an insider knowledge of how much it takes to produce 1 litre of petrol? If not on what basis do you suggest a 300/litre? |
Zionmdde:The owner is in the best position to answer your question. |
CyrusVI:Actually, it makes it invalid. Unless you believe he loves a distant African country more than his own. His country has trillions of dollar debt because billionaires like him refuse to pay tax at the same rate as the middle class. Why isn't he advocating for blocking tax evasion in the US? The fact that he is Bill Gates doesn't mean he knows anything about the Nigerian economy. Going by this statement, he is as ignorant as the average Joe on the street. He likely picked up the talking point from the various textbook economist articles which postulates solutions without proper contextual understanding. The current government even has a dedicated team for tax policy. If they think they have some novel and effective means of tax collection aside the import duties and VAT that place heavy burden on the poorest, then, they should let us hear it. A fact any reasonable economist won't argue against is that no country has ever taxed itself out of poverty. Increased taxation follows economic boom and not the other way around. |
Says the man who hires several lawyers to help him avoid tax. |
chopnaira:Oh god of journalism, when did you include the bold in your divine rule? The only thing "journalists" need to do is ensure factual reporting, they are not under any obligation to help you fight your private enemies. |
Zionmdde:Most of the mods are not paid, they are volunteers. |
Ikaeniyan0:US is not a member of ICC, so Netanyahu is free to visit. Netanyahu will not visit the UK or Germany. |
jmoore:It is not about number of tankers but the number of independent buyers. A buyer with 100 tankers is a better client logistically than 100 buyers with 1 tanker each. |
jmoore:The bold would be a logistic nightmare for the refinery of such size. |
Anither563:You don't need to say that. He is in business for profit and not charity. |
ecolime:Have you asked yourself how much it costs to ship petrol vs the actual cost of the petrol itself? For Dangote to sell below average international price, he must have discovered a way to reduce his production cost far below international costs. |
nony43:The toilet cleaner cannot even afford a decent home in all the major cities abroad. They can't afford to travel back home to see their family. How can such person even go on vacations? Being surrounded by wealth doesn't automatically make you rich. |
Your brother will be dead soon if he does not separate. Either the adulterous wife or the Yahoo boy will eventually want to get rid of the obstacle in their path. A stitch in time... |
patrickcollins:It is not about how much earned but how much is left after essential bills have been paid. |
Difrent:US moved against Binance owner, France moved against Telegram owner but you are here celebrating locking up a mere employee. Just hope he doesn't die in custody. |
The source added that only the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited would be authorised to sell the Dangote fuel at the moment. This is a no-brainer. Only NNPC can buy high and sell low with subsidy. |
hisgrace090: ![]() Another village boy dreaming of eldorado "abroad". |
LordBiden:Don't mind them. These Nigerian "abroad" fantasists amaze me. They would dream up a perfect picture of a country they have never visited and have little to no idea of how low-wage workers struggle to survive. Imagine comparing a toilet cleaner to a bank manager? |
Earthkumy:You are not a kid anymore. Nobody is stealing resources. You either sell or you eat and drink them. |
Rapmoney:Have you bothered to find out why such happens? No financially secure man will enter into such marriage unless they are getting something big from it. Only in the dream or Nollywood movies can a financially stable and educated Nigerian lady marry a broke and uneducated man.It happens too but not just frequent. |
The world will never progress because none of those in that picture will be able to agree on any issue due to the uncertainty principle ![]() |
ZaddyJ:They both have to move to Canada and then issue a direct threat to life against other Nigerians. This is a Canadian case and not a Nigerian one. |
Smithkafors: Factcheck0001:She wasn't arrested for insults. But threat to life. Even in Nigeria, insults is hardly a crime, let alone Canada. |
obamiyi:Shouldn't you at least be interested in whether the facility has far outgrown its food and welfare budget? |
ogolemati:Even if you kill all Nigerians, that won't change the NNPC. We are talking money, you are talking fantasy. But if oil imports is taking away from NNPC and let it focus on exports and local services, then the money problems will disappear. |
Factcheck0001:Living in the US or having a family in the US doesn't change the reality. Trump has never had a manifesto. He works with talking points. Just like replacing Obamacare with the "best healthcare plan ever". We know how that went. And even if he does have a manifesto, he is so incompetent that I wouldn't lose a sleep over them. This is the same who had both house at the beginning of his first term and he couldn't build the so-called wall. He only remembered the wall after losing the house to the democrat. His most radical idea this time is the plan to deport millions of illegal immigrants. If it was another candidate, I would take them seriously but with Trump, I laughed so hard. The only thing that a Trump presidency, which I think is very unlikely, will achieve are core republican agendas. Lower taxes, scaled back regulations and generally pro big businesses policy. Every other thing he promises are nothing but braggadocio. |
You raise salient points. But I disagree on point C. A mineral doesn't necessarily have to be locally useful before it can create real value. As long as it can be exchanged, then it is useful. So, the real issue isn't the usefulness of specific minerals in local industries but the net gained in value from exploiting them when we factor in population. If a country where to gain massive value from a "useless" mineral through export, nothing stop such from investing excess export gains into other industries where the country could have a competitive advantage. I believe Africa countries generally are not resource-rich due to earnings per capita courtesy of high populations and not the presence or absence of specific minerals. |
The chance of Adeleke's reelection just improved dramatically. |
