Kobojunkieee:You obviously didn't understand my point. It is just like saying that any 10 year old child without a degree and good paying job is a failure. Your metrics are meaningless in the Nigerian context. Yes, it is your opinion but it is still doesn't make sense. What I said about waste management is a possibility not reality and definitely not a 1 year or even 2 terms achievement. Perhaps you have any data to suggest otherwise? So judging by your criteria, your entire list is impractical. I find it odd that you latched on to only one point that I think is achievable even though I didn't include a timeline as evidence of the validity of your metrics. |
Oshomole knows that nobody cares. No voter will change their mind over his comments. It will all end in online or article condemnation. |
Paraman:Why is it so hard to understand despite breaking it down for you like a 5 year old? I generally don't engage your type, so find your way. |
Paraman:More than 40 million sims are unregistered, so we must urgently save this helpless victims, perhaps we should hire Indians to come help us complete it quickly. I understand your frustration, complex issues can be very hard to digest. |
atiku4President:You are not a kid anymore not to know that nobody cares about ethnic image. If Buhari had an opportunity for a 3rd term, he would likely have won. I don't know why you think the Igbos as a group are generally different or better administrators than other Nigerian groups, but there is no evidence to support such. Do I think all politicians are the same? Not, there are those with marginal differences in ability but such distinctions aren't based on their ethnicity or party but personal history and cognition. |
Kobojunkieee:I never said any of your listed item has been achieved, I think they are impossible with the current government revenue. I only pointed out one possible service that could be achieved with relative ease, waste management. So, your list is mostly aspirational. |
Akamon:So you are just guessing? Government is run by money and expertise and not ideas. Whenever you think you come across simple new "solutions" that the "dull" people in government refuse to implement. It is more likely that such solutions have been tried before, reduce politicians income, threatens a party's re-election chances, too costly, impractical, experimental or even illegal. Such letters in my opinion are mostly useless but could be effective for getting political appointments. |
Kobojunkieee: ![]() Aside waste management, no governor can do any of the listed even if given 20 years. Unless you have secret vault filled with billions of dollars to give to the governor. Government(federal or state) works based on scale of preference due to limited resources. You added welfare that is even very challenging to manage for advanced economy. Well, it is good to dream. |
Trump doesn't hate foreigners, muslims, blacks, democrats or whichever group you think. Trump's only goal is to say and do(sometimes) what he thinks his supporters love to hear. |
MEEVEET:No, you won't. Not even with 500 thousand well-trained soldiers. There is a potent weapon that will make your conquest impossible or short-lived. Ethnicity. |
Paraman:If they say tens of millions of Nigerians don't have a car, does that mean tens of millions of Nigerians wants a car and can't get one? Also, there are people who have still not properly registered their sim till date, would you also conclude that this group desperately wants to register? Of course not. What many of you don't know is that meter is not free, even the subsidised one. So, the only people who need meter are those who have applied and paid for one. Merely being a disco customer doesn't mean a person need meter. Moreover, meter is mostly sought where electricity is unstable to avoid paying for darkness. As I stated before, if you really want to know the number of customers who need meters go and source for meter applications from you your state discos. |
Akamon:Can you cite such times with positive result and why you think the advice was external instead of internal deliberations? |
sulaak:While money can be replaced, time cannot be replaced especially in football where stars shine briefly and then goes dim. It is not good for Osimhen to be in the bench for the next 2 seasons regardless of the wage he earns. |
Namaster:You are wrong. Even Ighalo clearly states that Osimhen is NOT happy with his circumstance. There are some things a person who just escaped poverty will celebrate but would be bad news for an already made man. Earning the most money is everything at some point in life but not at all points. |
These are uniformed armed robbers. |
Starpro87:It is not a puzzle. Independent marketers never sell a loss but profit. NNPC is fond of selling at a loss while calling it under recovery or shortfall. |
deji17:The problem is subsidy. Dangote wants subsidised crude but the government wants more crude forex. Eventually, they will reach an agreement. |
Burob:He said politicians and senators. Only a foolish Nigerian would deny the endemic extortionist system that is visible even to the blind. There is no apparatus of government that does not demand and receive kickback or bribes while performing their function. Of course, senate committee members are too smart to directly demand payment into their personal accounts, they always use their aides and fake company account for plausible deniability. No, senators are not too big to accept kickback. There is absolutely no reason why the German will make the claim unless he has been propositioned. So, if a German, a Ghanian or even a potential Nigerian coach made the above claim, then it is most probable that it happened. |
MadPolitician:Nope. 90% of the current check points came about after Kanu launched IPOB. You can confirm from your elders. |
Lifestone:Those he spoke to are not random people on the street. The coach is not foolish that he can't identify his potential employer and their aides. Whether the accused are working for their bosses is another matter, but your claim that no politician want 10% is laughable. |
The scourge can't be tackled without resolving Lagos homeless population growth. |
Paraman:There is no reason why indigenous companies can't expand their production. I can assure you that the Chinese company given this contract is not currently producing millions of meter ready to be shipped. They will also re-organize their business(take loan, hiring, factory expansion etc) to meet up with this contract obligation. BTW, millions of Nigerians don't need prepaid meter. Don't believe me, go to your state disco and inquire about active meter applications. Even if the imaginary millions exists, meter is not food and its need should not trump Nigerian's yearning for industrialization. |
I see a lot of people condemning or rejoicing with the "news". The article isn't about test result but percentage of total tests conducted. |
neyopompin2023:The kidnappers didn't just release her, someone(family or government) have paid paid ransom. |
immortalcrown:Infidelity is not a crime in Taiwan, so no punishment is expected. I know that the man's right ends where another person's right begins. But the man needed evidence against the wife. Please, what other evidence could he have provided to prove the wife's infidelity? Or, could the court have believed that she was cheating on her husband, if the husband had not presented the footage? The verdict is pure insanity, a wife or a husband should not expect privacy from a room they shared with a spouse. If a spouse wants full privacy, they should rent other room outside the shared home. I wonder if the lawyer did present such argument. I hope the judgement will be the same if a woman does exactly what the man did.It may or may not be because this judgement does not make sense. Another judge may rule very differently regardless of whether a woman or man is the complainant. |
princemillla:Connection syndrome and income inequality is a major factor for this police abuse. When two people of equal wealth clash and involve police, they both are quickly released and asked to report later. But when one of them is cash loaded or has a "connection", then the other suffers even if the initial complain was not a crime. |
Jubrilv:You don't need to wonder. IRAN. |
There are indigenous companies producing electric meters in Nigeria but the FG prefers the Chinese for reasons best known to them. I hope there is a clear and favorable contract termination clause in the agreement to avoid another string of international embarrassment. |
Farooq is wrong. There is absolutely no valid reason to block a 16 year old from writing WAEC. Farouq argued that it was the enforcement of previous laws but so was subsidy removal and yet he keep railing against it. As a general practise, education policy on age progression should serve as a guidance and not some divine laws that must be enforced by every means necessary. If the government doesn't want to subsidise education for under 18, then the parents should be allowed to opt out of such subsidy or loan. You can't force everyone into a rigid scheme. Take American SAT for example, it has neither minimum nor maximal age. So if a parent wants to waste their money by enrolling a 10 year old , they are free to do it. |
Sapasenator:Yes, he is but that is perfectly LEGAL since he is not the government. |
