Christianity EtcRe: Tempted To Assist A Family With God's Money (Tithe) by Iwerebor(m): 9:07am On Oct 03, 2011
Assuming you give him this time do you think all his problems will go away?
If not, what will you do? Will you keep giving him God's Tithe?
When dealing with God you must learn to cast down reasoning.
You are not in a position to decide on tithe.
IT'S NOT YOUR'S in the first place.
If you give away that money, the blessing will stop and the curse will follow.
The devourer will be allowed to do his job.
Read malachi 3.
Fear God my brother. He is not a man.

Leviticus 27:30 "'A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD. it is holy to the LORD.;

Matthew 23:23 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former

Heavy buying of oceanic bank's shares today. In the region of N4.07b. Number of deals also jumped 300% from the previous day's.

Isn't this the same company that the media was reporting it's death throes?

Afribank to pay dividends of 50k per share and a bonus of 3 for 1. pretty cool.

@shad

i think linkage is a good buy, but i about lasaco. . . . . hmmm, well let fadaof2 speak up
Linkage is good no doubt but please look at the number of deals it has registered  in the past two days:
11 yesterday and 4  today.
Talk about hoarding!
I have bidded for Lasaco with no success even at the days max price.
In some cases, huge volumes are seen but with very low number of deals. For example:
Wapco today traded 10,215,493 units in just 14 deals. I think the big ones are getting preference these days.Perhaps this is the share buy back playing out. Interesting times.

Does anyone know a quick link where I can get the daily stock positions on the NSE,I mean the one that indicates upward price movements in green, downward in red and non-movers in blue just like it used to be in the old NSE link before they started asking for link activation that doesn't work.

PS;The TRW link is not bad but I need something more detailed as above
Thx

Hi gurus,

What do you think of these 4 stocks for short term? I'm looking at buying significant quantity of each today.

1. Dangote Sugar
2. CAP
3. Nestle
4. Wapco

I'm waiting on you, guys. The time ticks,
Hi Bioye
CAP & Nestle looks good for short term. Roomy. They are two stocks that were almost mortally wounded so are now healing. I just pray you will get a reasonable amount because holders are holding tight especially with CAP.Netsle's volume is improving.
Wapco has been on the run for a while. You are about to enter when Sellers are waiting for the signal to exit. Just look at the opening price of yesterday's transaction on the stock. The price depression should tell you something about the mood of holders. If you get then you must be on HIGH ALERT!
No comment on DSR except to say look at the graph yourself and decide.
I am not responding as a guru o. Just an sharing an opinion, ultimately the decision is your's.

Kevin Mitnik was a celebrated computer hacker. He was something of a marvel. He realized something:He didn't bother beating the machine. He exploited the weak link in the chain, man.

The market has got psychology that needs to be understood.

Fo2 once said that the market is riddled with codes. Absolutely true.
Each days pricelist speaks volumes.
Two things happen basically when shares are exchanged:
buying and selling.
Each action is a force that causes price MOVEMENT.

Remember Newton's law of motion? Objects will remain at rest or continue to move except a force is applied to interrupt them.
Results, rumors, news, profit taking, government policy etcr will only CAUSE either of this: BUYING or SELLING. These two actions are the true market forces.

Don't trade if your knowledge of economics excludes the law of demand and supply.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Iwerebor(m): 4:28pm On Apr 22, 2008
Those who say it cannot be done are usually interrupted by those who are doing it.
As volatile as the markets appear they obey the law of demand and supply very strictly.
The fundamentalist worries about whether it's cheap by always scutinizing PEs and other variables.
The Technicalist focuses on PRICE which is a product of BOTH PE and EPS but he is more concerned with the demand and supply curve.
The fundamentalist is very intellectual but the Technicalist is practical.
I don't see any place for chance in this market. Some things are actually very predictable.
Every man his own.
Bioye, I think you should be talking to FO2.

thanks. .i actually stopped following the bids position of that site. Sometimes they don't update the bid positions for 3 days.

I'll verify with the bid positions on the NSE site to see if its actually what ure saying. I agree with you Monday will decide on whether to sell or hold.
I personally still feel those stocks will still continue the bull runs next week. lets see how it goes sha.
Thank you
Never knew stock positions are posted on NSE site. Just surfed it but looks like alot of areas on that site is open only to paying subscribers. Is this the case?
Help me with the link, please.

@iwerebor
please, explain the signs you saw today for those on board of Costain and Etherna
I don't think i saw any signs. . .please, share with us the signs so we can unfasten our seatbelts

How can? with the unfulfilled bids on the two of them?

@Iyke-D
Its not all you see that you say. . .learn to keep quiet
Well, according to this site http://www.fidelityunionsecng.com/index.aspx the unfulfilled bids for both are marginal.
Except the figures are inaccurate or a surprise may arise. Whichever the case is let us be ALERT.
If I were on board though I would let Monday be the Deciding day for my sell or hold decision.
Monday is usually a bullish day. If those stocks don't act true to form then your decision is as good as mine.

Rumor mill is also spinning a tale that Intercontinental bank is packaging a dynamite in the name of Year End result. The adjective used to describe the result was "unprecedented"
I hope it turns out true cos I almost considered offloading a substantial amount that I got years ago at a bargain smiley.

Simply wait for the season to change. Don't personalize this or you will get yourself in a panic.
Every portfolio is bleeding in various degrees, even those of the gurus. Its a market wide thing. It's a SEASON. Seasons change.
Please do not worry. Alot of folks are looking for money to pick UP your bleeding stocks. If you know anything about economics, then guessing the effect of that action won't require a degree.

Hi all,
Looking at the newly released result of BENUE CEMENT COMPANY and in retrospect WAPCO Lafarge tells me that all may not be well with the BUILDING MATERIALS sector.

Ashaka cement is yet to release it's result and they will anytime soon. This particular company presented a very good buy opportunity due to selling pressure last week and I think many CICOers may have swooped on it, so I am advising against complacency. For some reason I don't want to hold that stock when the result breaks, so the next week's trading sessions should be very critical for me.
All caveats observed!

Hoped to get your UBA bid and offer status of the market.
I use UBA stockbrokers too but can't get them to include me in their mailing list. Everything about their service indicates overworked staff who haven't got time to attend to anything but buy and sell mandates.

pumping777:
Many prices occur between the low, the high, the open and the close prices. You won't find your individual sell or buy prices on any site except you bought or sold at the low, high, open or closing price for the day.

You should only be concerned if you stock was bought or sold at a price lower than the lowest for the day or higher than the highest price of the day.

Of course I won't complain if it is sold at a price higher than the highest of the day grin or bought at a price lower than the lowest of the day grin
I don't know how you know this pumping but if it's true, then my confidence has returned. I thought the fluctuations of a stock are fully captured in the opening, high, low and closing prices.
easimoni:
According to my FSDH sheet, the lows for the aforementioned companies are
FBN 48.75
GTB 36.36
UBA 49.81

Your broker sold your shares within the day's ranges. Abi did I misunderstand your question?
Your understanding is in order easimoni.
I couldn't have wished for better answers from you guys.

By the way Easimoni, I looked at your your recent upload for this thread, was really amazed how you came by all those data and the patience you managed in compiling them. That's really painstaking job.Very commendable.

I used it to further my research on Union bank. Was scared by the share outstanding you calculated for them. You increased it from 11b to 14b. Remarking on it you said there is a 9billion goodwill to be written off.
Didn't really understand how paying off goodwill increased the share outstanding. Is there some sort of conversion at work?

Hi All,
Isn't CSCS trade alert supposed to be error free?

Twice now that I have noticed, their trade alert figures have not matched the pricelist on various websites.
Today for instance, they reported the following prices for these shares I disposed:
FBN, N49.80
GTB, N36.74
UBA, N49.95

I have checked across various websites and can't find a match for them even in the fluctuations.
These same shares when they were bought were some kobos higher, now in selling they are some kobos lower.
What's going on? taxation or what?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Iwerebor(m): 8:01pm On Feb 11, 2008
CICO the way FO2 does it is simply buying at a discount and selling at a premium from that discounted price.
It's about exploiting the fluctuations a stock goes through because of the forces acting on it.
Sometimes, this fluctuations leave gaps that a trader sees as an opportunity to profit from.
You just need to know what to look for for this to work for you.
It's about recognizing opportunity and exploiting it in a timely manner.
If you understand it well, you can enrich yourself even from companies like CCNN, transcorp etc.

It has merit.
