@Aporo do you think stock exchanges also do calculations in valuing stocks? that is, how do they come up with the daily stock pricing? |
Whilst i am not an expert on stock analysis, i can identify the following fundamentals:Interesting but most of these are not things you can do math on. |
how are fundamental analysis made? what are the things that factor into this analysis? |
Are penny stocks not hard to get?it seems to me that the time to home is during a public offer. |
Roughcut, I have sent a mail to you. I am very much interested in buying your 50k plus units of access bank shares. I need IBTC too. Big numbers or large units, if you will. |
READING WHY WE WANT YOU RICH BY ROBERT KIYOSAKI AND DONALD TRUMP, HE SAID HIS RICH DAD ASKED HIM ON A SERIOUS NOTE NOT TO REVEAL THIER IDENTITY. WHY BECAUSE THE RICH LIKES SECRECY. AND HE STRESSED ON THAT FACT VERY SERIOUSLY. SO DONT BLAME HIM IT WAS AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN HIM AND HIS RICH DAD FAMILYSecrecy or privacy? Either by their mouth or by their acts, everything the rich says or does is always making a loud statement. That's why you hear them asking you, assuming you are not one of them, "do you know who I am?" "don't you know who I am?" If the rich wasn't asking you that, why else would he be in a car with lots of empty seats while you are cramped and suffocating in a bus? Why else will he drive a car with a plate name while your's is a plate number? The rich like secrecy huh? how come Aliko Dangote was prompt to give an interview to respond to a perceived wrong when it wasn't him on forbes richest black person ranking. So much for secrecy! Kiyosaki has pulled the wool over your eyes friend. |
One of the beauties of RDPD is that it pushes the idea that making money is as simple as you stopping to think about it. You identify the rat race and avoid it. That ought to be common sense but unfortunately it isn't. I didn't like the tone of John Reed's review as it came out like a furious personal attack but he made a valid point that was as common sense as Kiyosaki's approach, i.e, that Kiyosaki had a long list of people he aknowledged in the acknowledgement page except one person, the very person on whose principle his work is hinged on, RICH DAD! A very big ommision there. Perhaps Rich Dad can't use an acknowledgement since he is a myth! poof!Poof! |
@ IwereborOk, I just read it and it's lovely. However, the attempted rhyming at some points dimmed the shine a little. It seems to me that works like that are best allowed to run free. Keep up the good writing. |
sprezatura, You have broken the Jinx by being bold enough to post a poem here and it's an imaginative work. Though the metaphors are uncomfortably morbid. |
Why are we so afraid to put out a few works rather than talk about it? It's routine on most sites to read people's drafts and actual constructions while they ask for reviews. Almost all my works are in public domain. Plagiarism would actually be a compliment. |
I would tell you if you can prove to me that you are neither a robber, policeman nor an EFCC official. |
Rich dad is definitely a mythic creation of Robert Kiyosaki. The sharp contrast in personality he had with Poor dad simply doesn't exist in real life. I am currently reading Rich Dad poor dad and I found alot of exaggeration in the intelligent conversation nine year old Kiyosaki was having with Rich Dad. The credibility of a writer matters even though his work is ingenious. Read Jeffery Archer's Cane and Abel. His two characters became very wealthy and powerful in the story because they knew what they wanted out of life and focused on it. Jeffery Archer in that book identifies traits necessary for entering that realm but he doesn't tell you how to, that's for your imagination and intelligence to figure out. Jeffry Archer was gracious enough to categorize the book as Fiction and it is a best selling book. So yes, the ability of an author to admit where reality stops and where imagination is filling up is very important. I care. PS: And I might add that Kiyosaki was honest about one thing,i.e, that he is a best selling author but not a bestselling writer. His writing style is so amateurish. Yet it has an appeal because of that same simplicity! |
I didn't subscribe for Dangote Sugar but I heard the Share certificate was out fast. Something tells me that the proposed less than two week period of sale of Dangote Flour would mean a quick release of certificates. Can anyone remind me of how long it took DSR to release their certificate? |
K2 @Iwerebor. The scenario of 200k to 800k in three months is called greed. I can also guarantee you that unless you do away with this overnight, sudden riches mentality, not only in the stock market but also other investment strategies in your life, you're setting up yourself to get burnt. You might have the luck of the draw and hit a 1% chance of success but I can assure you that you'd end up going away naked in the market square. I'd advise you go back to the drawing board and set realistic expectations on your investments. As they say, "Bulls make money, Bears make money but the Pigs get slaughtered".No grudges, although I didn't say what you thought I said but I could say it and still be in my form as an investor, it is not called greed(that's a dirty word) It is called ambition. Robert Kiyosaki (in rich dad poor dad) said there is a limit to which you can fall: ground zero! but there is no limit to which you can rise. There are testimonials of stocks appreciating 5000% in the NSE. Who could have seen that? Always Keep an open mind or someone would have proved you wrong before you finished explaining why it can't be done. |
That's quite ambitiousAmbition is what drives the stock market @Iwerebor. As they say, "Bulls make money, Bears make money but the Pigs get slaughtered".K2 200k of 800k is only 25%. I beg to differ with your definition of greed. Look at this scenerio: my 800k acquires 200k units of a penny stock @4naira, That penny stock appreciates by one naira in three months, has that 200k not been achieved? |
@ Iwerebor, First bank should take a while. Oceanic and UBA got lifted ~2 months after the offers closed. Thanks Easimoni. Perhaps FBN is not the stock to pick for a three month time frame which is already counting. 2 Months before it's lifted and I was thinking mid august max! I can't possibly expect FBN to fly to the 50 naira mark I am aiming in one month. Now what am I to do? I know next to nothing about picking stocks, was staking on FBN because of their pedigree. Good investors here: how would you go about making 200k out of 800k plus in a three month time frame? |
@All Judging by the bullish run made by banking stocks like UBA, OCEANIC & Zenith is it realistic to make a short term investment on first bank and expect it to rise to 50 naira in about three months? And when will this stock's bull be unleashed , it is still being leashed? |
@All Does anyone have any idea when First Bank's technical suspension will be lifted? |
am happy about this forum, a million thanks to Seun and all the contributors.Savie96, I'm also new to stock trading, I had a lot of questions in mind like everyone new has in a new environment. Most ready made answers can be confusing. A good way to start finding answers is to look at the stock listing in newspapers and see the performances or lack of it there. And then keep watching with every passing day and note changes, i.e, price fluctuation. Ask yourself questions like, what are the factors that influence the behavior of stocks, why is a company rated higher or lower than another when they are both doing the same business? and if a company in the same business (sector) has risen so high, is it at it's peak? do the ones below have potential to rise and catch up etc Make no mistake about it, those figures you read in the papers are speaking if you can figure it out what. Another approach is to read through all of the discussions that have gone on through this thread. It's like reading an FAQ. I'm sure you will find enough testimonies to fire up your passion. I am figuring out the language of stock trading quickly, swiftly and intuitively. And then, you must develop a strategy for investment,i.e, short term, mid term or long term. And don't make a habit of calling anyone a guru. Judge everyone on the basis of each post. Some gurus sometimes come up with analysis that have more holes than my gran ma's dentition. Best wishes. |
If I were you I would stay off Cashcraft. I had bad experiences with them and others have reported similar issues on this thread and elsewhere on nairaland. Their services are just too inefficient in general.@bioye If you were me, where would you go? |
Thanks Otoks, I greatly appreciate this info. It's very helpful |
Can an amount like 50k/100k be traded with? Is there any broker who will accept it? |

Does anyone have any idea when the Technical suspension on First Bank will be lifted? |

The Holy Bible. |
please i need some investment advice on some of the cheap stock because im thinkin on investin on some of them, please i really need your advise on some of the prospect of the cheap stocksWell Urboy Cheap stocks have one strong advantage over costly ones: It is the advantage of numbers or volume. They don't grow much but the cumulative effect of their little growth can and does surpass those of the expensive ones. Make sure when you buy them you buy alot of numbers and then all the Kobo kobo will sum up nicely to crisp naira notes. Happy investing! ![]() @All Has anyone's research made them have good feelings for Wema Bank Plc lately ? Any opinion of that stock's potentials in the next three months? Is there a public offer in the making from them soon? If there is, how does one know when to dispose to avoid the Technical Suspension that will follow? Will appreciate answers. |
Two Hungers, One in the stomach & another in the head, The Nigerian ranks that of the head below and that of the stomach above. In the desert, what are people burning for, books or life sustaining water? I think it takes being in Nigeria and a Nigerian to truly understand else all judgments will be without knowledge. |
A perverted world surely, It is willing to pay out billions of hard earned cash for Harry Potter, The Da Vinci Code etc Yet millions go naked and hungry, what does this tell us? The end is here! God can't stand this for too long! |
Hey Frank, I'm new here but I've noticed your brilliant contributions. I understand why Timono is ready to spill blood for your sake. If you have access to Yahoo! messenger then please let's talk a little. I've got an investment decision in stocks to make on Monday and I am having a hard time deciding on one. My Yahoo! ID is : freddy_lincoln@yahoo.com |
When you consider that the money on offer is the exact amount that will buy you a space into Club Freedom's network marketing scheme then Mr Dipo Torpedo's posturing will be less altruistic. |
