What happens to Nigerians at foreign missions while trying to get permits, legalisation and Visas can not be described as humane.
This is highly predominant in Nations that house Universities that are cheap and and affordable and have loads of Nigerians in the quest for quality cheap education. Countries like Poland, malaysia,indonesia, Philippines,ukraine etc has the highest number of Unruly officials who met out many unfriendly attitudes to Nigerians.

Nigerians many times have their destinies altered, frustrated and sometimes, these embassies act as cronies to institutions abroad who tend to refuse to return Tuition fees already paid if visas are refused.

Sometimes, these officials just refuse visas in a bid to acure fees illegally under the guise of Visa appeals or even in cases of Visa Annulment.
Many Countries have staffs who odd information, or even outright rude.
A friend mentioned that an embassy staff during interview asks him "what do you want to do with your life?" That is Outright rude!
Its not your business to ask someone such question.

While we all agree to the principle of absolutism of consuls, but then refusals and conduct at embassies should be within the ambit of law.

What Nigerians do not usually do is show the embassies that they know their rights.

Many Nigerians do not know that they can write the Ministry of Foreign affairs to expel any embassy staff who behave unruly to you in your own country.

You have a right to have the ministry of foreign affairs to close an embassy if you think it is just a money spinning venture for the origin country. For instance, if they just collect visa fees from u, refuse u when u meet all criteria for visas, and then you appeal and they refuse again, especially if this cycle has been done 3 times without success.

You can also approach a magistrate court to declare any embassy staff including an ambassador persona non grata and thus expel him/her if you think they treat you unfairly.

You also have the right to report an embassy to the Continental court of the origin. E.g Poland to EU court.

You can also write the minister of foreign affairs of the country of origin having them to call their embassy to order.

You can also write an email directly to an Ambassador asking for a meeting to discuss your concerns, because you are a Nigerian, and the Ambassador has submitted his letter of credence to your leader, he/she is Obliged to meet you rapidly and address your concerns.

I just think we should avoid being treated my thrash by these foreign officials who many times have the level of clerks/data entry.
You can call the bluff of any ambassador anytime..

Its time we rise to our rights and enforce them..


I have a story of a Nigerian Scientist in 2014 who dealt with an European Nation severely because he knew his rights and enforced his rights. Along the way, 4 embassy staffs were out of their jobs and in the long run, he was honored by destination country as an anti corruption crusader and was eventually honored as a honorary citizen by that nation..
Applying Visas is not Begging. It is a legal battle. It is same as approaching a foreign Magistrate court asking them to permit you into their country for a certain reason. Afterwards, u can appeal the decision to a higher court. If u think you have done everything necessary, then u can go to an administrative court in the country. Many times people win at the courts as long as its just a visa. We also have people win residence appeal.
Some person i know was refused family reunion visa 12 times by a certain EU country, and then his marriage collapsed, but the marriage produced a son, his ex wife went into depression, so he sued and accused the embassy of causing the marriage collapse and that family was reunited. So justice in this case many times will come..

Do you know the parents mobilized 4 policemen to the school to beat the teacher to coma? Do you know that the NUT would have gone on strike until she was suspended even though dismissal should have been the case. I can again tell u that students of that school got no handbook or book of rules.. like we didnt all go to public schools.. if it is a government school, i put it to you that she will defeat them roundly.. and besides is it only me that is seeing that it is actually a case of assault due to racial discrimination?? What a shameful and Ignorant act from educated parents, the student in question should be shown mercy for this exposure to litigation against constituted authority of Ekiti State.

But the parents should be disgraced by making publication in National Newspaper for appeals to all parties sued to court.

The education sector should enact a law ,that allows such parents that come to the school premises or use their agents to fight and beat up teachers for any reasons, after proper rulings.

My take on this matter.

Presenting each student means that you will present each parent too.. because when its not a case of rape or assault, words of the underaged are not admissible evidence.. for the assaulted teachers, they have to identify the police officers involved.. e no concern this girl case... did you see anywhere where they said school activities were disrupted??

Lets be honest, that hairstyle is not indecent. The teachers were only hyper active. Besides, its a government school and looking at it all, she is not yoruba.. so stroking her twenty times making her have scars, and bleed till she went into hemorrhagic shock can not be overlooked.. there are educational laws on how such cases should be managed.. first, the parents should be invited before suspension.. did the school do that? Also, are there matriculation oaths in secondary school? Highest that can be is a document affirming good conduct..of which *good conduct* is a very ambiguous word.. the said girl was even on low cut..the Girl has a case honestly..
With Police clinic admission involved, that principal will be used as a collateral damage o.. because they didnt manage the case well at all.. because of ordinary parting.. u single a child out, which is discriminatory and gave a child less than 11 years 20 strokes of cane.. lets be honest, even us as Elders, how many of us can take 20 strokes of whips?

I am a guy, currently 22 years of age. For some time in the past I usually have occasional chest pains which comes and goes within 10 minutes. I thought it was as a result of my sugar intake as I consume soft drinks a lot with little or no exercises so I decided to cut down on my soft drink to no avail because I always end up going back to it.

Fast forward to sometime last month, I traveled to Europe to get a medical degree and when I got here, I started living on junk foods, KFC and McDonald’s as I could not cook. The chest pain came back one night and I decided to complain to my dad. Immediately I complained to him, I became conscious of it and I started fussing over it.

I went to google and everything I saw about pains in the chest always leads to cardiac arrest, stroke and dying. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, I was always trying to check my heartbeat every chance I get. My dad said it was due to the junk foods so I stopped junk foods and soft drinks as my cholesterol could be high. I still couldn’t shake off the horrible feeling I got whenever I checked my heartbeat.

I started having panic attacks and difficulties with breathing and always feeling tired. I eventually went for check up and my heartbeat showed a beat of 68 bpm. I got checked by a cardiologist, neurologist and an orthopedic doctor and they all said my vitals looked normal, blood pressure normal, blood oxygen level normal, blood sugar normal except for the orthopedic doctor who told me I had to fix my slouching posture.

It’s been a week after the check up but my life isn’t back to normal. I can’t keep complaining to my parents because I gave them quite a scare with my first complaint and I know they have their own life to live but I’m just scared, I live alone in my apartment here and I’m new so no friends yet.

Anytime I check my heartbeat it still feels irregular,I can’t enjoy the foods I use to love, I get scared of doing strenuous exercises like jogging because I’ve heard stories of people who collapsed while jogging, i don’t enjoy my sleep anymore as I read that most people with cardiac problems die in their sleep.

For a week now, I have been going for evening walks to keep fit and exercise and I only eat once a day. I eat 2 apples every day and I swallow a capsule of omega 3 fatty oil daily. The only protein I consume now is salmon or mackerel fish because of their heart strengthening capabilities.

I can’t focus on my studies anymore but I can’t complain because I don’t want to bother my parents anymore but I’m scared. Some nights I wake up with panic attacks and every morning I feel happy for sleeping and waking up successfully. I hate how flawed the human design is. Sometimes I get distracted but as soon as I feel any slight discomfort in my chest, I check my heartbeat and it feels irregular. There’s occasional sharp pains in my head that goes almost immediately and sometimes I feel blood throbbing through my veins in different parts of my body. Tomorrow I’ll be going out to get an apple series 6 watch so I can monitor my vitals better.

You need to explain your symptoms very well..
What you have is just Angina pectoris.. from your knowledge ans explanations your vitals are okay.. so it's pretty a case of maybe a minor angina pectoris..

To overcome these, applicant should just write the letter of intent and specifically mention that you have added documents (mention the documents you added) to *JUSTIFY the PURPOSE OF INTENDED TRIP* please use this Phrase in the letter

Example of document to add include

All tickets including train tickets within the Polish territory. Show that you have paid metro trips for at least 2 weeks between your proposed accommodation and your office address.
Also, pay for a GYM membership or sundry stuffs in poland and attach membership cards and receipts. Ensure you also mention that you are a dedicated fan of a sport team in the city where you are going to work.. if u can buy jerseys and take pictures with it.. know 5 players in the team and know their date of establishment..
Mention that you want to have a work-life balance time in poland.


For point number 9, let applicant show Marriage certificate and specifically say that your spouse and kids remain in Nigeria till you return. If you have received prior Visas, specify the dates it expired and how you have returned back without overstaying your Visas. If u have previously received European Visas, especially Croatia, Ukraine, German or Lithuanian use those strongly to state your case and say this trip will be no different.

Inform the embassy that it will be wrong to overstay a visa because u understand the socio economic impact of overstaying and that if u wanted to stay longer, u would apply a resident permit.

Then finally and most importantly, have a Poland based Translator to translate the Letter of intent to Polish and Notarise by a Polish Lawyer. The English copy, notarise by a Nigerian Notary Public. You can make an high court sworn affidavit stating that you are returning. Please do a federal high court or use a popular legal firm(Notary public).

That's how it is done..
They just tightened their defense a little not that they have began refusing.
