Three Suspects who were involved in the kidnap of Channels Television reporter, Friday Okeregbe, has been arrested.

The reporter was kidnapped in Lugbe Area of Abuja on the 22nd of March, while trying to park his car.

According to The Nations, the kidnappers were said to demand a N50million ransom for his release.

The identified suspects are Hanniel Patrick ‘m’ 29years from Akwa Ibom State, Abdulwahab Isah ‘m’ 28years and Salisu Mohammed ‘M’ 32years both from Kogi State.

A hilarious video of a couple has gone viral on social media and in the video it seems the couples were somewhat forced to kiss each other on their wedding day.

In the video, the bride and groom were practically forced to kiss themselves. The reluctant couple seem not to approve of the usual rite.

To avert what they thought would be a tragedy, the friends and relatives of the celebrants had to literally push their heads forward so that they can lock lips.

Even more, from the appearance of the couple's face, it was evident that they were not enjoying their own wedding ceremony. Not only was the groom's face creased badly, the bride's attention was torn between the exit and the man standing in front of her.

Looking at the video one could see that the bride's eyes were wide open, not closed for a minute with one stubborn look on her face.

A mechanic identified as Abdulrahim Mustapha has been sent to prison for raping a 9-years old girl.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, an Upper Area Court III, sitting in Kasuwan Nama in Jos, passed the sentence to the 21-years old man.

The Judge, Yahaya Mohammed, who sentenced Mustapha without an option to pay fine, said that it would serve a deterrence to others who would want to indulge in such crime.

The Prosecution Counsel, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on April 5 at the Laranto Police Station by one Yusuf Dada of Rikkos Village Jos, who is the complainant.

Gokwat said that Mustapha tricked the 9-year-old girl into buying pure water for him and dragged her into an uncompleted building and raped her.

A Twitter identified as Jackson Ude shared a viral video of a pastor using soft drinks to bathe his members, coke and fanta as seen, for spiritual breakthrough or cleansing.

Via the video, one could see as the church members queued up with bottles of soft drinks to meet the pastor, which in return open all bottles and emptied the content on them.

The acting Lagos fire service director Rasaki Musibau and six others have been released after been abducted by suspected kidnappers.

The victims were abducted in the Ejirin area of Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area of Lagos State on Saturday.

DSP Bala Elkana, said the director and others were released unhurt at about 11:45pm on Tuesday night.

In his statement...
"He said, ” On 09/04/2019 at about 11.45pm, the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau and 6 others kidnapped on 06/04/19 at about 8.00pm, at Ketu-Ereyun, Ikorodu were released unhurt by their abductors. The Victims have since reunited with their families.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has threatened to embark on a one-week national strike over alleged failure of the Federal Government to implement the agreement reached withe the union recently.

According to the New Agency of Nigeria (NAN), recalled in early February, suspended its two-months industrial action over non implementation of the federal government.

Mr Chris Nkoro, ASUP National Publicity Secretary, said the decision was taken during the 94th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union, held from Monday to Friday at the Shehu Idris College of Health Science and Technology, Makarfi, Kaduna State.

Nkoro did not, however, say when the planned strike would commence.

“The union views the persistent lethargic disposition of the Federal government and its agencies towards re-negotiation of FGN/ASUP agreement as a ploy to cripple the system and perpetuate suffering on members.

“The NEC urges the federal government to without further delay, commence the re-negotiation process.

The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire Ministries worldwide (MFM), Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya has lost his mother, Madam Janet Olukoya as she dies at the age of 95 years.

Officially announcing her death yesterday, he said, she died peacefully in her sleep on 31st of March, 2019, which was the exact date his father died 25 years earlier.

Dr. Daniel Kolawole stated that the last announcement of Mama Olukoya's death was to allow the Church round of the monthly Power Must Change Hand programme of the church last weekend.

"Mama has gone to be with the Lord. She was a fervent worshiper, a prayer warrior and a member of Elder's group in the church."

"Mama's burial arrangement will be announced later" he said.

Late Mama Janet Olukoya is survived by children, grandchildren and other family members

Twenty people have been killed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in Ungwan Aku Village, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The community was attacked by persons in military uniform as about 7pm on Monday.
The attackers carried weapons like AK-47 and machetes, and shot sporadically.

An eye-witness, names withheld, said "As they shot sporadically, some of us escaped to the bush. the attackers were in military uniforms and bullet proof vest.

It was also reported that the police came with 8-Hilux vans but could not go into the bush to fish out the attackers

The former President of the Adara Development Association also confirmed the killings.

No fewer than 19 persons have been confirmed dead and 38 others injured in a ghastly accident that occured in Daudawa-Funtua road Faskari Local Government Area of katsina state.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed this on Friday 5th of April. Godwin Ngeuku, FRSC Sector Commander in the state made the confirmation to jouralist.

He said the accident happened on Friday morning at Daudawa, few kilometres to Funtua LGA of Katsina State involving a Mitsubishi vehicle.

He also said the driver lost control of the vehicle while speeding, went off the lane, somersaulted and killed some passengers instantly. The vehicle with the registration number of DKA 654ZP was on its way to Sokoto with about 57 passengers when the accident occured.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 16 new cases of lassa fever in 5 states in Nigeria.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, disclosed this in Abuja on Saturday while giving an update about the disease and effort by the centre.

He said the 16 new cases has now brought the number of cases to 526 out of the 2,034 suspected cases since January 1 in 21 states.

He also said a total of 121 deaths has been confirmed since the outbreak.

Dr. Ihekweazu said Ondo, Bauchi, Edo, Ebonyi, FCT, Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Benue, Kwara, Enugu, Kogi, Rivers, Imo, Delta, Kebbi, Oyo and Cross Rivers states have each recorded at least one confirmed case.

Also, he said, 29 patients have been hospitalized at the designated centres.

The NCDC boss also confirmed that one healthcare worker was affected in Plateau state, bringing it to a total of 17 affected healthcare workers in 7 states since the outbreak of the disease.

Ihekweazu said a total of 6,489 people suspected to have contacts with those infected had been identified across the 20 states.
