easiest way to verify your domain at sedo is to change to their name servers after listing over there; NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM AND NS2.SEDOPARKING.COM. once edited, the domain will be verified within 1 hour. After the verification, you can use your preferred name servers / sales lander.

A domain date starts counting from the day you registered it whether it has dropped before or you coined it new. And as you said, it can't be transferred out until its up to 60 days old. If sold before 60 days, you simply do a domain push.

Domain push simply means moving a domain from one account to another account WITHIN same registrar. You can push a day old domain.
Most top domain registrars and marketplaces supports this. Afternic most times prefer a normal transfer which they usually automatically do if you've opted in for their premium fast transfer network. And for the domain to be eligible for this, it must be up to 60 days old.

The funniest thing is that the domain was for sale for a long time the former owner acquired it for $700 or so and couldn't sell it . an inbound offer of $1,500 came yesterday night and I accepted the guy paid immediately

I followed up and asked why he hasn't proceeded with payment, he gave me some unconnected response and backed out. Little did I know that he's gone to register the plural for 5 years and has redirected it to his main site.

Chai. Well move on but next time, during the negotiation process (may be short or long) take your time to check the plural out. If it's still available, get it. Some oyibos don't know much about domain, some need an SEO expert for advice, and some personally knows about it very well without outside assistance.
