The Sock Situation
Firstly, let’s clear up this part of the problem. The general rule you should stick to here is to make sure your socks are the same shade or darker than your trousers. For example, blue trousers = navy socks and mid grey trousers = charcoal socks.

However, as with any truly scientific law, there is an exception – and it comes in the form of brown. Within the spectrum of brown I’m including beige, tans and khakis, just to be clear. In this situation, ensure your socks are a shade darker than your shoes. I generally find that this approach also works when you are wearing olive or burgundy trousers.

What about a suit trouser with stripes or checks? Simple: pull out the colour of the less dominant stripe. For example, a navy trouser with a grey check calls for some grey socks to highlight the pattern.

What about a stripe or patterned sock? Firstly, make sure it’s not too in your face. Secondly, use the dominant colour of the pattern as your base. So a navy sock with thin white stripes is going to be paired with your blue trousers.

The Trouser, Socks & Shoes Conundrum
Sometimes it’s the simplest of things that can cause you the most frustration. Whether it’s that one tie that just can’t be knotted at the right length or that button on your cuff that just won’t button, we all have occasions when a molehill becomes a mountain.

I found myself in this exact situation a few weeks back when considering shoes, socks and trousers – and what colour goes with which when consulted by a friend.
The problem he was having was that he needed to dress a little more conservative, due to where he was heading, his combination of bold patterned socks and beat up white bucks just wouldn’t cut it. Oddly enough, the creative and colorful side of style comes easier to me than the more subtle, conservative elements.

As per usual, this got me thinking about how many other people have this sort of problem. Because if he's struggling then there must be others out there that are in the same boat, if not out of the boat and sinking to the bottom of the big blue.

With this in mind, I have decided to put together a simple guide on how to combine your trousers, socks and shoes for those occasions where you need to appear a bit more refined – be it during business hours, at a formal event or meeting the parents. Hopefully it will help put my, and your, troubles to bed....

A boyfriend is neither a father nor an uncle nor a husband. . . .He is just a dude who is in a relationship with a girl he likes and vice versa and also a girl he is "probably" contemplating getting serious with.
He is not under any obligations whatsoever to foot the bills of a girl he is neither a father nor a husband nor an uncle to.

Truth be told, the level of foolishness perpetuated by "some" boyfriends of our generation cannot be compartmentalized. Honestly in recent times, Majority of boys and girls in a relationship do not know tha meaning of a relationship or what being in a relationship entails. I know almost all the boyfriends (and probably a few girls) reading this right now will be cursing and swearing at me but then, just hold your peace and come to the realisation that you can't continue to be fed three square meals by your folks or pals and feel you're man enough to have a girlfriend. . . .

People who depend on others for survival, yet deem it an obligation to foot the bills of a random girl are what? Errrmm maybe Muntula! Will it be wrong to say such peeps are likely to be termed "fools of no comparison"?.

Most guys have been thoroughly misguided to believe that giving a girl an allowance signifies his genuine love for her. The honest truth here is, You can't be in a relationship without spending money on gifts and on dates and eat outs....oh well it's quite understandable but paying your girlfriend a monthly salary? Now that's hillarious. . . Urrrhmmm A slap won't solve anything, neither will a reduction of his allowance stop anything either. What such a chap needs is a serious talking to by a much older lady/guy who would open his baby eyes to the realities of being in a relationship.

Categorically, it's absurd, repulsive and unthinkable, to see a young man go borrowing because he wants to impress his so called girlfriend when he cannot take care of himself let alone a girl. Worst of all, once the girl he is trying so hard to impress with all the borrowed money, gadgets, clothes and atimes car discovers he's been borrowing to impress her, she'l ditch him and the next thing you'l hear him tell whoever cares to listen is, the girl is a gold digger! Excuse me Damn it!!! Excuse me where da hell is the gold in you? You who does'nt even possess any element of silver, bronze, copper or even zinc, you dare say she is a gold digger? Where da hell is the gold in you?

Youngman, before you decide to have a girlfriend, please ensure you have a means of livelihood no matter how small it might be and also be yourself! . . .Also bear in mind that you are just a boyfriend and not her Father or Uncle! The last time i checked, its called a RELATIONSHIP and not a SITUATIONSHIP.

Shoes
High heels are nice and fashionable; however, beware of the narrow stiletto types. These are not only inappropriate but they can be very uncomfortable. Walking, climbing stairs and standing for long periods of times during busy days should be considered. And no one would want to end the day having sore toes, calluses and corns. Also avoid wearing open-toe shoes and sandals for they are inappropriate too and in fact, most companies prohibited wearing them. Definitely no athletic footwear and most of all, never wear worn-out shoes.
Wear shoes that are stylish and yet appropriate in a business attire. It is advisable to wear wider and thicker type of hills to give your feet support and comfort.

Accessories
A confident woman does not need to wear a lot of jewelry. Wearing too many accessories could draw negative or excessive attention causing distractions and intimidation to other people.
It would be perfect to wear stud earrings and a simple necklace. A silk scarf would also give the business outfit a polish look.

Makeup
Women should be careful when putting makeup. Heavy makeup may cause unwanted impressions and attention. Keep the makeup light as much as possible. Go for natural colors to achieve a fresh and look.

Bags
Choosing the right kind of bag is significant in expressing personality. A slouchy bag looks sloppy.
Bags should be elegant, however should project a well-organized image. Choose a bag that has a lot of compartments to fit any paper works and personal things as well.
Some women prefer to have a Coach bag where in they could put their personal things like make-ups and perfumes. Laptops and other paper works could perfectly fit inside this type of bag.
