FxDuke: bro preach on...the reality is that nigeria just find it dificult to tell herself the truth, there are certain principles we are not following of which even great countries have deviated from and are finding hard to follow.....once you miss the way or path, you are out!
Okanokan: That's the problem with the present Administration led by President Buhari, they don't think through policies before implementing, thats the issue we have with the TSA, Similarly how do you ban an item without the knowledge of the people who are affected. The President and the Apc apparachik must think through its policies holistically and if possible involve the people, before implementing; let the people contribute to Government policies. Finally, the present policy on Generator is bad intoto, since it targets a class of people the POOR and the Government seem at loss as to alternative that the people should embrace. Good Policy are policies that cuts across all strata of society.
Check the date of the ban before you start blaming the president.
OP you did a good job in your write-up but saying these are facts means u haven't being following happenings in the NNPC lately because so many changes have taken place ranging from contract cancellation to review of various appointments. You can do better by getting yourself more acquainted with the latest happenings under the new NNPC GMD. Though it may not be up to the figures the media houses have made Nigerians to believe but you can't be very sure she is a saint because her demeanour that first week GMB assumed office gave her away as having something in her cupboard.
It's just a shame that most of the supposed leaders of tomorrow find it easier to apportion blame to someone else than reason constructively. Instead of trying to understand the root of the issue before commenting on what you have no full knowledge about, I think the best thing to do is to be silent than appear to be without wisdom with your comment. I laugh when I see so many people blame PMB for any little problem in the country forgetting that there is also a governor in the state they reside who has an immediate role to play to better their life than the President of the country.
May God help us to direct our wisdom as a nation!!!
EverestdeBliu: Simple, just 3steps... 1) learn and understand the Hebrew language, for the Bible was originally written in Hebrew. 2) Get the original Bible, untranslated and read the whole from word to word. 3) Before venturing into 1 & 2,pray for the SPIRIT's guidance and divine understanding and interpretation of His word.
Old testament was written in Greek while New Testament was written in Hebrew, so learning only Hebrew will only give you an understanding of the New Testament.
Sile12: 29. The Gerald Ford is an American aircraft carrier. It is scheduled to launch in 2016 and will be the most advanced ship in the world. It is more than 100,000 tons with an 1100 foot flight deck. It has 2 nuclear reactors and carried 4200 men and 75 planes, currently planned as F-35 fighters. 10 ships are planned, one every 5 years until 2040. The ship has more offensive capability by itself than most countries. It can travel at 30 knots and go 90 days with no resupply at all. It cost $14 billion.
MaziOmenuko: The probe on NNPC has not even been commissioned yet and they are squealing already!
Its amazing how the operations of NNPC that had always been shrouded in secrecy is being openly and generously shared with the media. NNPC seems to be over-willing to talk to the press and release info after operating like a secret cult for years.
Note that the combined capacity of our refineries happens to be 445,000 barrels per day. Together with other by-products, we can get up to 50mil litre per day for local consumption.
If our refineries work at full capacity, we will turn out 50mil litres per day, use 40mil litres for local consumption and still have surplus 10mil litres to export.
So when president Buhari said he doesn't understand the concept of 'subsidy' he knows exactly what he is saying. NNPC knows this and that's why they are now willing to do the right thing. It would have been business as usual if GEJ had won. They would have continued their unending promises of fixing the refineries to no end.
I keep saying, subsidy was and still remains a scam.
amazingspiderma: Steps like this should not just be taken without reviewing the implications. He should discuss with the religious leaders on the issue before going ahead to make this decisions. When you take the bread from the poor without making any fair compensation or plans, you are forcing them to do anything to survice, and I mean anything. It is like subsidy you don't cancel it without an alternative.Nigeria generally speaking is a subsidized economy. It does not matter if you have a job or not,we all benefit from subsidy one way or another. Nigeria is a society not a factory and social factors are part of the cost of running any society. Lastly I strongly believe he knows what he is doing because most of those affected by this decisions voted him into office without a shadow of doubt,I know this because I grew up in Kaduna.
Speaking of subsidy, when was the last time you bought PMS at the approved price for two consecutive weeks? There's no point blindfolding Nigerians anymore since the poor masses are the ones bearing the brunt of the hardship. If the decision is for greater good in the long run, which in this case is, then it should be supported.
Though, like you said, he should have consulted the religious leaders before the decision but a source from Kaduna told me he did tell them but that the notice was too short for them but don't forget also that he hasn't spent up to 1month in office.
As at this moment, not up to 10 states have been able to pay last month's salary, that's to show you the severity of the financial crunch facing the nation. Drastic measure has to be applied for most states to survive and I think that's part of what he has started doing.
ollah1: HTC M9 plus is mtk. It's yet to be released tho so I don't think it should be on the list but it's some of the phones there aren't released then m9 plus should be there and also topping it
vparle: H Let me ask u who and who are the leaders of tomorrow? The youth or bokori at 72 political age, not this actual age. The old are the leaders, stop deceiving urself okpo
Young man, you should have tried to understand my comment before quoting me. With the comments you saw on this thread, did you see anyone clamouring for the young men to run for any elective position? Did you see anywhere I mentioned anything about the so called 72 years old politician? You may do well to explain your point because I see no reason why you quoted me.
With all the comments I have read on this thread, I can only weep for this nation for the fact that most of the said 'leaders of tomorrow' have have lost their common sense of reasoning to politics. Instead of being the solution they're indeed part of the problem.
Only few reason rationally, while many are so free with words to the extent they have forgotten to put reasoning behind every utterance (comment).
Is this the generation of youths our founding fathers paid dearly with their lives for or is it that common sense has lost its place in the minds of most young men?
1miccza: Hmmm may God in heaven never allow me to experience such in the nearest future but if i meet with such kind of woman,na there she go dey wey i go look for another woman ASAP... No time to waste oo....
It may sound very easy but in truth, it isn't at all. We're talking about keeping your home together. Am not in any way supporting the woman but I think there's something they're not telling the court. Don't always take family issues at face value cos there's a whole lot more involved.
