What could be the problem? Check your input very well....there could be an error from your input. If your input is actually correct, then it might just be a technical issue. So, you have to keep trying. |

JaceyOpara: I submitted my application on the 29th and it's also showing "waiting for approval ".
Although, I applied for renewal. So, I did my capturing yesterday at Ibadan Immigration Office. Applied for renewal on 29th August after I read about the increase and made payment on 30th August. My application was approved and VETTED on 17th September (quite long), probably because I was renewing for 10 yrs. My initial passport is 5 yrs. Another reason might be because my passport hasn't entered six months to expiration (Na there I take scam Dem, shebi Dem wan scam Nigerians ). I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't go for capturing until October 2nd. When I got there and told them what I came for, I was directed to the waiting area. I just sat there hoping that someone will come attend to us (a very big mistake I made!). I finally stood up and went to SERVICOM and the man I met there was not happy with how I was treated. He directed me to where I'd be attended to. I went there submitted my documents but by the time it was my turn for capturing it was past their closing time. Even when someone begged on my behalf they started to look for faults in my application, because I put place of birth as Agege Lagos instead of Lagos. This was a very minor issue that they could correct, but no they wanted to extort me for it and I refused. I had to come back the next day again (that's yesterday). Lucky I met their boss and he explained that my info wasn't all that accurate, which I acknowledged but he didn't know that his people wanted to extort me. Finally, he said I should wait in line for capturing. They did their thing and I did my capturing. I was handed a slip with my enrollment number. I tipped the officer that directed me to their Oga 1k and asked him when I should come back for the passport, and he said it should be ready by December. DIY is the way o Don't let anyone intimidate you but make sure your details are accurate, otherwise they'll use that as an avenue to extort or punish you. This is Nigeria! |

Ziyech: ICAO Compliance Issue(s) Your image processing request cannot be processed at this time, please try again later.
Some folks mentioned that they usually outline the specific issues with the photo upload right? So why is it giving a different response now? This people are up to something This passport stage is a scam , cos when you go for biometrics, you'll be captured and that's what will be on your passport. Not this ICAO shit we struggled to upload. Anyways, thank God for everything. Did my capturing yesterday. |

MrOposter: so what should I do? Go back and complain? When did you do the change of data? If it was before your biometrics, then it should be resolved by now. If not, head to the Servicom office and lodge your complaint. |

lilbarracuda: How was it at alausa? i have an appointed there next week. since i DIY i know they wont reply me in good time can i go there hours before appointment time because its looking like they don't follow the time My first passport application was in Alausa (back in 2021). I recently applied for renewal in Ibadan cos I currently reside in Ibadan. Take note: Recent threads suggest that Alausa is still a friendly passport center for DIY applicants. You can search those threads and read through the testimonies and experiences of others. |

Olaoptech: So, greetings to everyone here. My sincere appreciation goes to Jenifer007 , JaceyOpara , and everyone who contributed to this thread, as it has been constructive.
I will be narrating my experience at the Immigration Office in Ibadan today, so that it can also help those who will be needing this DIY idea and experience soon.
I made my payment (DIY) on 27/08/2025, and my capture was scheduled for today, 03/09/2025, despite having 'Waiting for approval' on my application page. I sent emails and reached out via calls, all to no avail.
So, today, I stepped out to capture and got to the Agodi Immigration Office in Ibadan around a few minutes past 8 in the morning. People were already seated and already reaching out to those who assisted them with the registration.
At 8:50am, an officer came with a bunch of booklets to call out those whose files had been submitted through their respective officer assisting them to process the registration. After calling out the names and marching them towards where they will be captured, I sat there looking like I was the only DIY applicant there. Anyway, I wasn't even expecting my name to be called.
I stood up and walked up to the security guard to ask for the SERVICOM office. I was directed to an office, which I went to, after narrating my ordeal, the officer I met described another SERVICOM office for me... I went there and I met this well-mannered officer who arranged my files, signed them, gave me back, and led me to the next office.
I got to the next office and my booklet was collected, the officer there started asking me some questions to confirm if the application truly belongs to me. Then he signed and asked me to go and sit under the shade.
While sitting, people were already reaching out to those who helped them with their application, while I was patiently sitting, waiting for a miracle from SERVCOM. At around 12:15pm, this officer walked in again and called names. Lo and behold, I was among. He narrated that there was a network issue, which was why we were delayed. So, we sat at the seat provided to us closer to the Capturing office, and by 1:00pm, I was already done with my capturing. Even the birth Certificate and Other documents aside my registartion slip were not requested.
So, after capturing, the man wrote a paper for me, with a number, and I signed it.....While I was about to leave, he held my hands and asked me to tip him. I jokingly told him I am broke pass the lowest earner in this office, and every one of them laughed. I promised him that when I come back for my passport, I will surely prepare something for him, and he said no problem.
That's not all, back to my benefactor, SERVICOM. I went back to the man, I greeted him, and appreciated him. I wasn't with much, so I thanked him with the 2k in my pocket. That was how I did my Registration without paying those outrageous fees being called by those people there.
Do It Yourself is Bae.
Summary
Payment made on 27/08/2025 Captured on 3/09/2025
Awaiting notification to come pick up my passport.
Thank you everyone for your guidiance.

9wkgb: I tried registering for a new passport application this afternoon and it's saying NIN is invalid - tried again right now and it's still same.
Has anyone else experienced it or it's from their website? Thanks
Note: NIN entered is correct and valid. If the system says NIN is invalid, then there must be an issue. Better still try again in the midnight hour or before dawn to avoid traffic on the site....that could also be the issue. |
