Dr strange has better characters. Apart from the main character in Shang chi and his dad, which other character is memorable? Dr Strange MOM had Wong (who had a cameo in Shang Chi), America Chavez and Wanda. Doctor Strange alone has more swag than Shang Chi.

Shang Chi's villain was not exactly a threat. A father would hesitate to kill his son. Wanda was ready to destroy anyone in the multiverse to get her children.

Better pacing? lol. Shang Chi went from a Chinese history documentary to martial arts to Chinese fantasy movie. Dr Stange MOM was a consistently quirky comedy-horror with action.

The Shang Chi movie is a plot hole itself. Why would a guardian of a gate that holds evil that can destroy the world leave the keys to the gate with her two small children? What about the father? He could have easily taken the pendant from them when they were younger.



Doctor Strange MOM is a beautiful film. The graphics and effects showing the multiverse are out of this world. The concept alone is crazy- multiverses, dream-walking, alternate people (doppelgangers) etc

Story.

Watching certain movies in the cinema and at home can give different experiences.

Avatar, Black Panther, The hobbit etc are all movies that had a different cinematic experience between the cinema and the home.

Avatar was cool because of its graphics and 3d effects. It was meant for big screens. Black Panther had the zeitgeist of black empowerment at a time it was needed.

After enjoying doctor strange MOM, this feels like a letdown. It is just an "okay" marvel movie.

They’ve forgotten about smaller, personal projects. A little suspension of reality is good for your mental health by living vicariously through the onscreen characters.Unfortunately, mass production for the purpose of mass consumption leads to mediocrity and drama which exaggerates action and human experience.
Escapism for a generation raised on video games and online gaming is stories of vengeance and bloodlust covered in colorful caped uniform superheroes and psychopathic villains.

Viola Davis is an actress. Acting does not give a personal insight to movies.

I might see Thor Love and Thunder in cinema but it's on probability because I've got zero anticipation for it especially after seeing its trailer. Every other movie this year except Avatar 2 is on probability of me going to cinema for them. I'm all hyped up for Avatar 2 that I'm targeting watching it on its first week of debut before someone spoils it for me. I won't wait for high seas for that one.


LOL. Don't you feel it's waste of money going to hotel to lodge to enjoy your PS5? The money you and your friend spend to lodge in hotels can be pulled together to get another TV where you can enjoy your stuff while she has another TV to watch her favorite programs.

Whether my partner likes my game time or not, I'll never go to hotel to play them. No freaking way. She has to make sacrifices for that as I do make sacrifices for things she likes as well.

Yeah. We have plenty TVs in our house. Extra tv is not the problem. Both our wives (me and my bros) hate videogames with a passion. The hissing and the stink-eye we get when playing FIFA from them.

As for the hotel, we don't need to lodge if our friend, the owner is around. We use the lounge TV.


I'm guessing that you are older than me. I grew up with movies and game and so they are part of me. Even at 90, I will watch movies at cinema.

I don't know which cinema you go to, but the ones I've gone to, the sound inside the cinema room is crystal clear and loud. Of course, some people will inevitably talk while the movie is going on but it's not that distracting.

I've only been distracted once when two stupid teenage lovers were giggling and gossiping like two cursed demented toads some years ago but , other than that, it's been a smooth experience.

Besdies, I don't go to the cinema that much. Just once in a blue moon. I was at the cinema for The Batman and my next one will be Avatar 2 by God's grace. For other movies coming out this year, I doubt they'd elicit the hunger to go to cinema to see them.
