"NURSES ARE MEANT TO ASSIST THE DR: I TAKE OFF MY GLOVES & GIVE TO THE NURSE TO DISCARD IT BECAUSE IF I DISCARD IT MY LICENCE CAN BE CEASED" (DR OBEMBE NMA PRESIDENT) ON NATIONAL TV (CHANELS TV)"

My attention has been drawn to the above written obnoxious comment credited to the leadership of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr. Obembe.

These are some of the issues on ground wherein an abusive, offensive, undisciplined and uncouth individual, of the stone age will imply that Nurses are mere servants to Doctors and get away with it.

It is sad that a group of highly intelligent persons will have a moronic,over-fed, pot-bellied fool as it's leader.Nurses know their worth and roles andthus cannot be intimidated by an indecent, ego- driven and pampered nonentity seeking attention.

Nurses will not accept or tolerate such abusive behavior from any quarter as demonstrated by Dr. Obembe.
Imagine a man from whom people expect a well behaved and disciplined leader belittling, and insulting Nurses, aired live on television with the intention of making Nurses feel like the bottom of the food chain.
This must be challenged by our parent body and a retraction obtained from him.
Be that as it may, It will take more than a prejudiced and unprincipled bigot to get to us. We are still in charge of our clients, standing resolute and unmoved.

In the interest of industrial harmony in the health sector, the government should call Dr. Obembe and his likes to order.
Change is dynamic, and a time is coming in the nearest future when doctors will work on their own and Nurses too will do their work without dancing to the tune of silly individuals who see themselves as God just because they bear the title of GP.

In conclusion, it is a thousand times better to have common sense without education than to have education without common sense.

Politics › What The Heck Is This Goodluck Jonathan’s Presidency For? by Jackeeh(op): 6:53am On Jul 12, 2014
By Adebayo Ademuwagun

President Obama was speaking at an event last April to mark an anniversary in America. Then he told a story about former American President Lyndon Johnson.
Lyndon Johnson was President John Kennedy’s vice before the latter was assassinated in 1963. Then after he took over as president, he wanted to speak to Congress and persuade them to pass a major civil rights bill. However, his advisors warned him that it would be risky and tried to discourage him.
But he told them, “Well, what the hell is the presidency for?”
Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan shares one similarity with Lyndon Johnson. Like Johnson, he was the vice president when the president died, and he was sworn in to take over.
Jonathan’s rise to the presidency evoked a lot of admiration and optimism among ordinary Nigerians because of the dramatic manner in which he became the president. He seemed to have risen to the top from nowhere, and he had an innocent personality. However, his performance has been so outrageously unremarkable since he took charge four years ago, and a lot of those Nigerians who felt admiration and optimism at the time are now utterly disappointed. Like Gary Younge’s question about Obama in a recent article, the question right now is, what the hell is Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency for?
To be fair, the truth is that Jonathan inherited most of the problems gripping the country today. Corruption was rife before he came on board. The standard of living was deplorable for most Nigerians. Infrastructure was deficient, and a lot of systems (e.g. education) were in a state of crap already. The problem is that he has done substantially little to deal with these problems and, in some cases, has even perpetuated them.
For instance, he officially pardoned a corrupt ex-governor and thereby put him out of jail despite strong disapproval from civil societies. A number of ministers in Jonathan’s cabinet have also been indicted for corruption. But despite the telling evidence against them, he either didn’t sack them or he didn’t make sure they were prosecuted. At one time the Central Bank governor also cried out that billions of petrodollars had been stolen by some people in government. But instead of ensuring that the governor’s claims were properly investigated, he alienated the man and effectively fired him. He even said in one interview that corruption is not the same as stealing. He has hardly done anything to fight corruption in this country where corruption is so prevalent.
Yet, if there’s anyone who should be doing more to make life better for the Nigerian people, it is Goodluck Jonathan. Why, because he is not one of the political elite who have been calling the shots in this country for decades. He was indigent as a boy and grew up under poor circumstances. He knows what it is like to walk many miles to school barefooted, carrying your books on your head. He experienced lack and deprivation.
And ordinarily, one would expect that a person with such humble history would be more public spirited and passionate about turning things around for the people of his country.

Disappointingly, Jonathan has demonstrated none of that. The question is: what the hell is his presidency for?
Politics › When Will President Jonathan Apologize To Nigeria? by Jackeeh(op): 6:44am On Jul 12, 2014
I was reading Reuben Abati recently, doing his paid job of trying to defend the president of Nigeria in the case of the three month-long abducted, ‘raped and killed’ girls. I wondered how he feels when he wakes up every morning to another day where the art-of-lying-and-discombobulating will again be perfected and applied at and to literally all matters of national interest. It must be one H of a tough job.
Today it is almost three months that the Jonathan government has been ‘unable’ to rescue over 200 abducted girls, and over three years since the first sets of abducted boys and girls have been with – and died at the hands of – Boko Haram in Sambisa, with the government simply not being willing or able to save them. As the agricultural economy is being destroyed in the north, over 80,000 peasants have been killed and 3 million northern farmers displaced; the third highest displacement in recent recorded World history.
Despite a quarter of Nigeria’s budget being allocated to security, Nigeria’s insecurity is worse than ever in our history, a worse level of carnage than the civil war as NL Wole Soyinka stated.

It is more than obvious that the state of insecurity is paying-off elements in the nation’s military and executive government – the continued proliferation of Boko Haram terror, facilitating the provision for squandering of this quarter of the nation’s budget funds...
This explains why Boko Haram is supplied with Nigerian military armored vehicles, Nigerian military guns and tanks and even cover of the Nigerian air force jets and helicopters to continue its reign of terror on the farmers and traders of the north. Terror pays.
In yesterday’s headlines, Vanguard reported the ascension of Nigeria to the world’s top position in Oil Vandalism. Yes we are now officially #1 according to OilPrice.com, a global organization that reviewed multiple countries and their rates of oil pilferage. Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan gave millions to an unrepentant Niger Delta terrorist, Government Tompolo and gave him the rights to bear arms and finance a parallel army, whose duty, the Reuben Abati’s claimed, was to secure the oil facilities in the Niger Delta. Are we meant to believe that Tompolo is being financed and armed to defend the nation from oil theft when today we have the worst level of it in our entire military and non military history and have achieved the #1 position in the world? Certainly not.
The list of national criteria in which Nigeria under Goodluck Jonathan has achieved the worst ranking in the world is no news. We have written and published on this, times without number. We are all aware that Nigeria is now #1 kidnap capital of the world; #1 most terrorized nation on earth; #1 for dangerous high sea piracy; #1 in oil spill pollution; #1 in poverty in cognizance of population/economy figures. The list goes on and on. It is also no news that the Jonathan government loves criminals and terrorists; that for the four years of his government, which also are the four years of Boko Haram’s real reign of unlimited terror, not a SINGLE sponsor of the terror group has been convicted by the Jonathan government; that this government frees all criminals and killers, the likes of Al Mustapha, the publicly registered killer of Kudirat Abiola.

We all know how Abba Moro, the man influenced by Satan who killed 25 of us, is still minister of the interior, how Fayose, an indicted criminal, was sponsored with our missing 20-127 billion dollars to re-take Ekiti; we know of Alamieyeseigha, we even know the president’s wife, Patience, also caught by the EFCC in State looting and laundering activities. We know of Abacha, who poisoned us to death with deadly, imported petrol and stole our billions of dollars, who is honored by the present ruler. Our national army today, once a very prestigious regionally recognized force, has been diminished under this government and is now globally recognized for deadly corruption, hopelessness and terror aiding, today known for killing its own soldiers, supplying arms and cover to terrorists and inflicting direct terror on the citizenry with the open burning of towns and public transport buses.
With all this, as Nigeria falls down, down and becomes a globally registered and acknowledged nation of youth unemployment and state targeted murder, oil pollution, terror politics, corruption, over 70% of treasury looting, insecurity with armed robbery, kidnapping, child abduction, high sea piracy, terror exportation, and every terrible indices there is, the question is – is there any point where the president of Nigeria will apologise for this incomprehensible wickedness?

She could not walk well because she was on a very high heel. A very slim wedge heel. She obviously could not walk fast because of the heels. If I should curse u, it will happen to you. In fact u are an ass hole for talking like that. My mum was between life and death and u say I was jealous of her. I was angry because she did not look serious. She looked more like a marketer than a doctor. Who says doctors cannot wear high heel, should it be worn in accident and emergency section? Are those not part of the ethics of the job. Shey if there are many patients on ground, how do u walk fast and diligently wiv high heel. Don't let me curse u. Idiot

Your eyes will soon clear. The game has changed and Nigerians are about to witness a return to the era when our hospitals rank among the best in the Commonwealth because they were not managed by doctors. You should face your book and pass out of medical school first after all you have chance to have resit up to three attempts. You hear? There's only doctor-patient interaction only in the hospital, abi? The patients don't see the nurse, pharmacist, med lab, physiotherapist etc.

twoondei: There are pharmacy technicians and lab technicians who are "auxiliary" to the pharmacists and lab scientists. However, medical training is too detailed and sensitive to permit such. There are minute details you pick by mere observations. Only a doctor can explain this. No matter how long you practice as a nurse, you can't be a good doctor.
Good points raised. But don't get me wrong. I don't support one profession trying to take on the duties of another profession. What I'm trying to say here is that doctors should quit training so called auxiliary nurses. There are schools of nursing and universities specially equipped for nurses' training. If anyone wishes to become a nurse, he or she should pass through accredited institutions.

I have heard and know of medical doctors who train "elizabeth" nurses ( otherwise commonly known as auxiliary nurses. Yimu!! Auxiliary indeed) and use them cheaply. What I don't seem to understand is the reason these same doctors can't produce "auxiliary doctors" too. National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives is there nothing you can do about these? Other professions don't seem to have "imitations", except in Nursing. What's the way forward?

EvilBrain1: I'm not bitter and pained, I'm trying to save your life so keep the christian tribal attitude to one side and listen.

Did you do a confirmatory test? Because the HIV test they usually do to screen people is a "quick and dirty" type that has a high rate of false positives and false negatives. Once someone has tested positive, you don't repeat the same rapid test again. Instead you do a proper confirmatory test which ideally would be a PCR test to look for HIV DNA, or at the very least a full ELISA test. Write those acronyms down and ask your doctor to refer you to the nearest federal teaching hospital's APIN clinic to do them (or NAIMA at Yaba if you live in Lagos). If you do a confirmatory test and its negative, I'll agree and even pop some champaign for you. But you have no business telling yourself you're negative if you haven't done a confirmatory test.

You are playing with serious fire. HIV is now a disease you can live with to a ripe old age and still have healthy HIV-negative children without any outsiders even knowing you're positive. But AIDS is a different matter, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Go and do the confirmatory test. And if you get bad news, face it head on, take your drugs and move on with your life.

Seriously!!!
All I can say is, "eeya".

Why do you think I read the thing so many times? You can't explain the problems with the bible by claiming that you need magic eyes to truly understand it. Practically every religion from Islam to Amorc make similar claims about their own sacred sacred texts and its all nonsense.

If you tested positive, you should be brave and face reality. HIV isn't a death sentence any more. There are drugs now that are very effective and widely available. HIV is now basically a chronic illness like hypertension and diabetes, take your drugs and you'll be fine. You're not helping yourself by living in denial. And you're not helping others in similar positions by promoting this fairytale that god can magically cure AIDS. And worst of all, you may be endangering your loved ones by not taking precautions to stop them from getting infected from you.

The fact is that for now there is no cure, not in church or anywhere else. That is the reality and you need to deal with it. I hope you realize the truth before you start getting sick.

Leetunechi: ok.thanks

so.if one wrong God now...and later repent from such sin completely. God would punish that person again for the sin he/she commited ?
From my earlier post, I tried to show u that every punishment for your past sins were meted out on Jesus on the cross of calvary. So when you truly and sincerely repent, God forgives and embraces you. No punishment or condemnation anymore. All is forgiven. Because of what Jesus did for you and I. So it's up to you and I to receive our forgiveness by faith and also believe. A lot of times, satan hinders many Christians from experiencing God's love by making them dwell on past mistakes and by this , guilt builds up. When u give your life to Jesus yet u keep thinking of past sins and punishment, ure indirectly telling him that you don't accept his sufferings on the cross for u. You unknowingly reject him. And this is exactly what satan wants. So ban all thoughts of punishment from your heart. Believe that you've been forgiven, you're loved and move on with your first love, Jesus. It's that simple

I suppose you're Nigerian? Good. Let's assume I give you a book written in mandarin. Will u understand what u see? You won't even be able to read let alone understand. And you may need help i.e in form of an interpreter. In like manner, I don't expect a natural man to understand the things of the spirit. The next time you want to read the Bible, humbly ask the Holy Spirit to interpret. He will. He does it all the time. Then you will know that the Bible isn't contradictory

Leetunechi: Little explanation

if a child wrong his parents..certain punishment may like to follow due to the gravity of wrong the child did/commited.
And also if the child humble himself to ask for the parents forgiveness, the parents on their side may forgive and also drop the punishment which was meant for the child

now God is our heavenly father,he forgives whenever we take time to ask for his forgiveness..and i was made to understand that, despite God can forgive our sins..we must suffer the punishment which he maped out for that particular person.

So here is my question

why shd we still suffer the punishment despite being forgiven in the first place ??

And what is the essence of the forgiveness when we are likely to suffer for the same sin/sins huh

I need answers please smiley
And where is it written that you have been forgiven but must still be punished? I charge you to wipe off such mental image of God from your mind. Don't listen to such lies. Don't accept such lies. Do you even know the reason why Jesus came down to earth? Simple. So that the punishment that was meant for you would be upon him Isaiah 53:1-10. The punishment had already been borne. And carried out in full. So instead of dwelling on the many atrocities you committed as a sinner, choose to concentrate on the love of God for you. It's unconditional.

Simply because you're carnal doesn't make the word of God contradictory. To say the least, I don't expect a natural mind like yours to understand the things of the spirit. God is spirit and they that worship Him must do so in Spirit and in truth, not in reality. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all things ( including "reality" ) will be added unto you. From the world's point of view, I ought to have died or at least prepare to die since I was pronounced HIV positive. Pls tell me, are there drugs for its cure that I'm not aware of? I didn't go to any "powerful " man of God for prayers. I completely and "foolishly" relied on God's word even when it seemed hopeless. If there's no God, how on earth has my health status changed from positive to negative? I ask again, are there drugs that cure HIV? If there were, maybe you could say the drugs saved me. I pray you seek God through your spirit and not through your emotions and senses. Only then will you find him. It takes me just seconds to understand a passage in the Bible by the Holy Spirit's help than it would take you years, even if you read from cover to cover till eternity, through your natural mind
