nefertitiram: Personally,
I felt 2 months was too early. Had to make some painful arrangements cos we didn't have a choice, at least till LO was 4 months. But on choosing a good creche. Look for the one with the least number of children per staff ratio, look at the ambience and the demeanour of other children there, are they happy?
I went to inspect one yday near my office, it wasn't spectacular but the babies looked happy and the older kids looked well taken care of Thanks.....noted though. She's 11 months. I just felt since she' with her Mom in Florida and DW is due in March, if i can put her in an American Preschool before their return cause the LO is over hyper. |

firsttymum: so In other words, we can fund the account we linked with our credit card for example the amount we intend to spend when we travel... And use d card? I think its only Diamond bank that has an effective credit card system. but whats the rate? it may boil down to same thing as debit cards. I now feel CBN may review this policy before end of January. |

nefertitiram: So this got me thinking.
Instead of looking for dollar upanddan and wailing about non withdrawal thru naira cards abroad.
Why don't we just get dollar denominated credit cards?
Worst case scenario you will be asked to invest a sum of money as collateral, which obviously you will use to buy dollars, so just get a credit card instead with a limit of up to $10,000 and we are good to go.
How una check am? When there is a will there is a way na I have one with GTB. For now, you cant deposit dollar but only withdraw which is also subject to if that branch has dollar to give you.... |

God help us all. firsttymum: Yer debit card favoredgal: Swiped 2k with my Stanbic credit card today! It applies to debit card only Now the exchange rate... Terrible....crazy. Is well It seems this ATM thingy for 1st Jan 2016 is not a CBN directive but was agreed to by the commercial banks and CBN says they cant stop them. Maybe thats why some banks sent their customers the email notifying them and others just brought down the withdrawal quota and will stop the use of the ATM in China and UAE and African countries where Nigerians import more from...CBN director for money something something was interviewed on AIT news by 8pm today 24th Dec. I stand corrected o. |

So for information purposes. TSA has changed rules for passengers in the US. Before, as a pregnant woman, you can decide not to go thro the body scanner and tell them to do a patdown. Now, if you request for a patdown, they can decide to turn you down or grant your request. If you refuse to go thro the scanner when you are turned down, you won't get on board your flight. Just saw it on cnn now. We should take note just in case you request a patdown and they refuse so you don't make trouble. Cheers. |

IjayMama: For my fellow Nigerian's who are travelling soon, I succeeded in sending my first transfer to yankee today via money gram in First Bank. I haven't suffered like this before! As I don't have an account, got someone who does. Each customer is allowed N190k per quarter @ the rate of N199-$1...However, paid N16800 extrs as tranfer fee...comes to about N207k approx...This actually comes to N230-$, not great but better than black market. So I'm currently scouting for more First bank account holders to make more transfers. This is an option to explore. P. S. Every branch can only do 1 transfer a day! I booked for my transfer yesterday but it was done today. So don't go to the busy nor highbrow branches... Wow..lucky you o...me havent succeeded...1 transfer a day is crazy and even booking in advance. kai |

Enizo: Pls how does this miles thingy work my DW travels atleast once you year. It's like a reward program for flying any airline. The longer the distance the more the miles. And if you have enough, you can use to upgrade a travel class from economy to premium or to business or first class. You can use the miles as money to sleep in some big hotel chains worldwide including Nigeria. You can also shop online with miles or pay a fraction of the cost of your ticket for your next trip if you have a certain number which defers from one airline to another. And some credit card companys give you up to 40,000 miles just for getting their card....American Airlines have such a program . But you have to register on the website of the airline you flying. After that, you search for your flight flown before and your point will display...some people you see flying business class are using miles or paid a fraction of the ticket while the miles paid for the balance.... helpful? |

Yea. Nigeria is 100 times better than the US, that is why you are still there 20years and counting.
Yes. Healthcare in Nigeria is 1,000,000 times better than the US, that is why mortality rate in the US is much higher than that in Nigeria.
$17,000 equals #23,000,000. SMH
This argument is what happens when a teenager is high on cheap Jamaican weed and instead of the Government locking his a$$ up, they send him to Rehab.
If you don't understand why people leave the best country in the world (Nigeria) to go to a much worse one (US) for child birth, then leave us to our ignorance. dont be surprised He's in a US prison where inmates are allowed internet before the xmas holidays.Let him browse his time before he's time is up. |

aye88: Hmmmm. You can say that again. That A bus is something else. Hubby and I used our Emirates miles to upgrade to business class when I was travelling to have our baby. We also used it to upgrde when I was returning back with the baby. It was a very sweet flight on the A380. Baby and I had a super comfortable flight from san Francisco to lagos and to think we didn't spend a kobo o. The flight attendants took pictures with baby, gave her a teddy bear, baby wash and diapers with wipes, blanket. It was too sweet. They spoilt me with excessive drinks. A pity I don't take alcohol, would have been drunk that day. And that their recycling seat is super to sleep with the duvet. Slept like a log wood. I didn't even know I was on air and had free wifi too. Was just chatting away with with dh. Will fly emirates over and overagain. Abeg tell favoredgal biko...yours is Business class not to talk of first class. nice one |
