nefertitiram: I doubt that o. its true. If you get 2 years a couple of times u get 5 or 10 years. They never had 5 years in Nigeria only 10 years that was always very difficult to issue. But last year, there was a bi-national agreement btw Nigeria and US. so if you are lucky, you may get 5 years after a few 2 years attempt.... |

No bank is selling PtA at the moment ok@ not being upset....The form A is not here o....Seems the better option now is western union to DW. first bank's rate on friday was 198.5 with little charges not more than 215 to send $1000. when I go there physically to transfer, I will get the full jist. For your Information House.......If PTA is an issue now, one of the best alternative is to use FORM A. Most banks(I use GT) use it to pay directly to the hospital and /or doctor at 199 or 200 per dollar. If you know the doctor very well, you can even over pay him or her and tell the person it was an error and request for your refund when you get there.
That's what am going to use for DW this time around . Though for her, she's using the same doctor and hospital she used the last time so it's an advantage using this method.
If you are a first timer, then this method "MAY" be a little difficult since sometimes you don't know which doctor or hospital you are using. Like (Afrobrown) planned to go to El Paso and ended up in Dallas.....It may take up to 3 weeks to process |

olagirl: Hello NL,
So i came in into the US on monday. My flight was smooth until i started have contractions 3hrs to landing.am not even close to due. I was pratically in distress. I prayed my way through. Prophesying and talking to my LO not too disgrace me..lol. i made sure i was composed n didnt alert d flight attendants.i will forever be grateful to God for d miracle
I used wheel chair so it was pretty easy on landing. My poe was a breeze all the docs i carried was nt even checked.i was just told to makesure i paid my bills. I had to go straight to the hospital. I used grady. I was treated for dyhradation even though i had gallons of water on board, stress and preterm labour. I spent d day at d hospital where d contraction was stopped n dy subjected me to numerous tests. I kept wondering if was for free. Baby has behaved.we are both fine.
I await my bill for this treatment. God ia able.
Wish you all those coming in safe n uneventful flights and everyone healthy and fullterm babies. Congrats o. Your story is real miracle and you were bold not to have alerted the flight attendants before you hear they are diverting flight or announcing on the PA system calling for a doctor. I wish you a safe delivery and pleasant stay in my Country. |

Posh404: Hello house....I already got my visa before I got pregnant and planning to send a letter of intent to the embassy. My questions are, how early do I need to send the mail. Do I need to have a correspondence doctor before traveling. Will it be required at the POE. Sorry if my question sound funny o. I'm a jjc in all of this. Thanks Congrats. Everyone was once a jjc too so don't apologize. The earlier you send the letter the better especially if you have bought your ticket. Yes, Docs correspondence is very important. And they may request for it or not at your POE. Be specific and direct here, ask the house about child birth in a particular state and which doctors and accommodation they used. The cost and everything else to help you plan better. Then ask them about airlines. Goodluck on your first Missionare journey and welcome. |

iadepelemo: I seems not to get it, please how am I going to know the cost and procedure? ozycy: You are in the right place. You can start from part 1 of the thread or use the search button above. Good to know you are eager to read By reading the thread from part 1 and coming back to ask questions if you have any. The first step I think is do u have a US Visa.? 2nd, do have have about 10k dollars to spend? If question 1 and 2 are answered, the 3rd will be do you have any particular state you want to go to or family that has space to accommodate you and your baby? When you done with these, come back and tell us the state you want to go and ask your questions. If you dont have a particular state, then u can ask mothers here to assist you. That might be easier than reading from thread number one. But when you fulfill all these conditions, you still have to read from thread one o, it will help you to compare costs, give you solution to all problems related to child birth in the US from buying your ticket to doctor's appointment to shopping and accommodation if you not staying with family. Goodluck cause you have a lot of work. |

bbiz: Hello Jacksparow, Sorry for what happened to your in law but in regards to your case of mislead it will not hold up in court because they were trying to save her and the baby's life. I am sure they explained to her what she was signing but the pain wouldn't let her ember. In the case of hearing test I am sure they had to do it to make sure the baby was okay. That child could have developed unknown issues or better still died if they hadn't taken the step that was taken. Before I had my girl last year I refuse epidural and others offered to me. At the time i signed for epidural thank God i signed blood transfusion too. After I had my baby i almost coded because of low blood. At that time none of my family member was around to sign any paper for me, they had just step out. My savor was that which I signed before going in. I got two pints of blood to save my life, I know for sure if i didn't sign and my life was in danger the doctors would have given me the blood to save my life. You can try getting a lawyer , I think we should just thank God for the lives that was saved. Thank you very much BBIZ....like I said in replies to earlier posts...guess it was the vex that made me think of suing...But after what everyone here said including you. Their lives is the most important not the money. And it's a eye opener for intending missionaries here. I thank God for you and your baby's lives. Thanks a bunch again. |

nefertitiram: It's not only hearing test that she signed for
She also signed that if d bleeding was beyond be careful, they will remove the uterus
She also signed for blood transfusion
I bet she also signed for NICU care for the baby
There will be a million and one things she signed for without knowing if she didn't read that document.
Even if she sues, did dey put a gun to her head? She sign or she no sign? For them to even come and say congrats, it means dey were scared something would have gone wrong because of the baby's condition in utero.
As long as mummy and baby are fine. There is no issue. Na party remain Am sure intending missionaries here now have advanced information if they find themselves in such a position. |

feddy27: @jacksparow,
There is a clause when you register with the hospital that in case of emergency, they should do everything to save your life and that of the baby! She signed off that during registration, I'm sure she did not read before signing.
Besides, those tests were done to save her life and the baby and not for luxury! Let's not do penny wise, pound foolish here. True talk. guess the head wasnt thinking of all these until I shared the story and u guys made over sense with ur thots. Thanks |

jacksparow: The 2nd is more like it. U were given some docs to sign when you were in duress, Then after the cs you start running some tests without verbal consent...So my own now is, is that wise on the part of the hospital and/or were they just trying to play a smart one to get more money off their patient. Except you saying hearing test is mandatory in Texas? [ quote author=shawlar post=40851893] How much is the hearing test, and how much do you think the lawyer will charge to take on this case....? The truth of the matter is she signed the docs and I'm sure the nurse explained what she was signing b4 she gave her the docs to sign. Her best bet should be diplomacy, explain to the hospital management that she was beclouded by the pain and didn't intend to sign for hearing test and negotiate a discount[/quote]ok. guess everyone is right from what i have read. Diplomacy I guess. Thank you all for your prompt and on point response |
