If you think Buhari will fold his arms and watch the illegality perpetuated in d last two years in Rivers slide, u're seriously sleeping on a moving bike. grin

You just go and read the interview by Buhari at his Daura country home , and deduce 4 urself what he will do in Rivers.

Though he won't condone lawlessness, but u just watch and see how he'll go about it. A military man will always be a military man, so don't get twisted bro.

PoliticsRe: Barcanista, Buhari's Social Program; More Of A Possibility by jadakiss213(m): 4:46pm On Apr 20, 2015
crownprince102:
This is a reply to you, Barcanista on how possible it is for GMB to accomplish his social programs. I stand with the fact that it is very possible and realistic.

I must firstly create awareness to you and the readers on the misconceptions in your writing and what they ought to be.

1. Buhari to pay 25m unemployed N5000/month:
Buhari promised to pay N5000 to 25m poor families or most vulnerable citizens not unemployed youth, and a poor Nigerian is entitle to this stipend if he meet certain clauses. An excerpt from Prof. Yemi Osinbajo explanation before general election stated thus;

“We will give N5, 000 to the poorest 25 million over a phased period, if their children are enrolled in school and participate in immunization.
“So we are actually doing two things; we are giving stipends to the very poorest and ensuring that in order to earn that stipend they certify two conditions”

This clearly state that a man that will be entitle to this must be a married man with kids and must meet those clauses.

* Buhari didn't promise to pay N5000 to 25m poor families at a time. In PYO's explanation on this before the election, he stressed that:

“We are looking at phasing it over a period because it will cost about N1.35 trillion to do so if we do all 25 million at once.
He maintained that, if elected, the programme will be done in batches of 5 million people a year, adding that “depending on resources we can even do more”.

This clearly explain that the schedule is for 5 million people a year and not 25 million as you earlier stated. This state categorically that the N1.5 trillion will be spent on this project for 5 years and not for a year as you stated in your analysis. Only N300b is needed for this yearly.

2. Buhari to Provide daily meal for Primary school pupil:
Thanks for bringing in the case of Osun state into this point, it will make it clearer. On this point, you came up with a total sum of N373 billion per annum. We all saw the recent statistics of revenue allocated to each state by FG, I saw it here on Nairaland, Osun is the lowest earning state and I don't think Osun's IGR is up to 30% of the allocation it get from FG. Probably why the state owe workers some months salary. It depend solely on FG allocation and their has been a cut in the allocation of each state since last year due to the fall in oil price. Osun could still afford feeding Primary 1 to 4 student despite this circumstances.

The case is simple, to save more revenue. The federal goverment could collaborate with states government in order to achieve this goal. The cost may be shared between both tiers of government in a case of 60:40 or 70:30.
If you remain adamant it should be done alone by FG, no problem, further analysis will clear the air.

***********************************
Going into your analysis we have a deficit of aproximately N1.9 trillion or we have a sum of N1.9 trillion to raise. With this analysis, it will clearly show that's a pathetic fallacy. As said earlier, the payment of the stipend is going to be done in batches, 5 million people per year. The cost of paying 5 million people this sum will equals:

N1.5 trillion / 5 years
= N300 billion a year

Also, N373 billion is needed for feeding primary school pupils a year. This eventually equals to:

N300b + N373b = N673b

This is approximately N700 billion naira per annum contrary to N1.87 trillion you stated in your analysis.

Your analysis was also base solely on the revenue generated from oil, their was no consideration for other sectors and also note that our budget is prepared with all eyes all oil revenue.

The incoming administration has promised to diversify the economy. GMB claims he will generate incomes from other sectors such as mining, agriculture, etc.

As Obiagelli stated, Nigeria annual income on oil this year if oil is sold at $60 per barrel through out the year will be N5.1 trillion naira (after 40% of the income has been transferred to the oil companies) with 2m barrels sold daily though we actually produced and sells officially 2.5m barrels daily (though some corners rumoured it to be 4 millions barrels).

N5.1tri - N4.6b = N500 billion.
We will have an excess of more than the needed N700 billion if the exact 2.5m barrel daily and possibilities of increase in oil price.

As Obiagelli stated on her thread, FIRS generates N4.6 trillion in 2014. If the same amount is generated every year, we will have:

N4.6tri - N700b = N3.9 trillion
That is an excess of approximately N4 trillion every year if the revenue remains stagnant in the coming years and their is a high probability of it growing.

Apart from this 2 ways I stated, we could also get the N700b from mining, agriculture, etc.

With this I stressed it possible for this social program to be accomplished by GMB's administration.

NOTE: I 'm not saying that GMB will fulfil the promise but I 'm only acclaiming the fact that it is very possible to be accomplished.
Your analysis is kinda flawed..I don't want to dwell on d figures you posited cos most of them are in the futuristic tense..Even if the figures ure bandying are achievable,u think a reasonable goverment will spend 25 percent of ALL of its revenue on some "social Program" when there are MORE pressing needs to be met..Infrastructure development,Power et all..It does not make any sense..

obailala:
If you consider pro-Buhari people/anti-Jonathan people as ignorant, I wonder what you would classify pro-Jonathan activists as. Remember that whichever way the argument goes, it still remains a GEJ vs GMB matter. In your humble and honest opinion, do you really think GEJ's manner of leadership was taking Nigeria in the positive direction (especially considering the monumental treasury looting and crass impunity which prevailed)?
I suggest you leave GEJ out of this for now..this bogus social welfare' package was promised by Buhari and his APC..Don't see anything wrong in doing an analysis of this..To me,those were just bogus promise made just to win an election,if u think otherwise, make use of ur brain and tell us how it can work.

san316:
The truth is that I did not read anything you wrote up there because I know it is just a vein attempt to prove that Nigeria is doomed.

The only question I would ask you is,

If you were wrong about GEJ winning the March 28 presidential election, what makes you think you will be right about this one (the assumption that GMB's policy wont pull through)?

The fact is that you have never been in the corridor of power and have no idea how things work except from the things you're fed with by the media. Same with all of us.

Way forward: Wait for the regime to commence work and if you like, keep praying things don't work out.

Reality: GMB will be president for the next four years and whatever you do or say cant UN-VOTE him.
Oga,calm down..The analysis the op made is not rocket science! U don't have to be in the corridors off power to understand its workings..The proposed 'social welfare' package as promised by the APC is so NOT feasible..the op put forward an analysis for debate..You don't have to resort to what u put up here..The op obviously feels the those plans are not feasible.if u think otherwise, pls put forward a more reasonable line of argument..tenk u!

PoliticsRe: Is A Federal Minister Superior To A State Governor Constitutionally? by jadakiss213(m): 6:47pm On Apr 17, 2015
omeddy:
By the constitution, the President, VP, Senate President, Speaker of the house of Rep and all 36 Governors enjoy immunity . They cannot be prosecuted while in office. However, the governors are very powerful in Nigeria because the constitution receognizes them. A minister is often nominated by a Governor to work with the president.
Oga,the senate president and house of rep speaker do NOT have any immunity from both civil and criminal proceedings..Technically,the Governor is superior to a Federal Minister, but by protocol,I think the Federal minister comes first..He is a representative of the President, his actions and inactions are credited to the Presidents.

CelebritiesRe: Dbanj Is Not Broke: 10 Differences Between Dbanj & Donjazzy by jadakiss213(m): 7:08pm On Feb 06, 2015
goldendiamond:
Usually I don't do this but to respond to multiple threads on nairaland that Dbanj is broke. As a follower of dapo oyebanjo since 2004 when he first performed at Ayo Shonaiya & DJ Abass' R70 world's independence concert in london with Queen an ex member of JJC & 419 squad, I have seen this very humble man grow into a global brand. I remember when he brought his Cds to my school back them in year 2013 to distribute(same university kswitch once attended). I remember his 1st album launch at "white house" on toyin street ikeja. I remember his 1st endorsement with power fist energy drink. Every year just keeps getting better and better for him.

How can a man with properties at home and abroad be broke. How can a man that commands sponsorship from multinationals and banks be broke, how can a man with multiple endorsements be broke, how can a global ambassador be broke, how can an artist with the highest appearance fee(since 2010) be broke. How can a man who is a landlord of many buildings be owing house rent. Small artistes like 9ice, Dr Sid, flavour, Timaya and even Wizkid are all landlords, how much more Eja nla, bangalee himself.

Its so sad that most nairalanders seem to know nothing about the entertainment industry. Its not about making hit songs alone(if you must know most of the proceeds of most musical artistes go to the record labels owners and the almighty marketers at alaba). No artiste can keep making hit songs for life. Even the likes of Rkelly, michael jackson and our own 2face at one time faded out and re-surfaced again. When last did u hear any hit song from lagbaja or femi kuti but they make more money every single year(through their world wide tours and private shows). Europeans and americans pay well just to watch them because that's the kind of music that captivates them).

Dbanj has achieved more for himself within 2years after the mo-hits break up. He organised the biggest concert ever by any Nigerian artiste - the koko concert that was sold out despite the high ticket fee. Only an artiste with a large fan base can do this. To show it wasn't a fluke he staged another DKM concert. Within this 2years he has achieved more when compared to years of mo-hits(2004 - 2012).

Entertainment is about 5-main sections.
1. Events
2. Music
3. Media
4. Movies
5. Business.

People like one of my mentors, baba himself "ben murray bruce" has excelled in all five aspects.
Let me ask you a simple question when last did sean combs(pdiddy) roll out any hit song. dbanj is following in the foot steps of these business moguls.

Dbanj has become more of a business man and expanding his brand on an international scale. Donjazzy is nothing compared to dbanj. Please stop the tribal war and look at facts. Its better to be more objective in your comparison between this two friends(who still communicate despite the media portraying them as enemies). Even donjazzy won't mind a collabo with dbanj due to his level of influence.

No Nigerian artiste achieved like dbanj in the last two years and in year 2014 he performed and mingled with the high and mighty both locally and abroad - mo ibrahim, bill gates, our president, U2's Bono, dangote, femi otedola etc to mention a few). He also bagged the biggest endorsement ever - the apple deal.

Its only a blind or deaf man that won't know that this boy is blessed and highly favoured by God. I end this post with dbanj's words in oritsefemi's double wahala remix. "Wetin u wan do, I don do am o, where you wan go, I don pass am o. If u still doubt it, google and search u will find me". The more you hate this young man, the more God will keeps blessing him so haters please keep hating...

Stated below are my 10 differences between Dbanj and DonJazzy. For haters I expect you to challenge it and if possible create a counter thread but all I will say is Dbanj has been consistent since 2004, was the brain behind's mohits success and no weapon of the enemy fashioned against him will prosper in jesus name(amen)...
You must have attended CU
