There is a notice on the application page, that once you are redirected to IHS site for payments, you cannot make any changes.

Yes they are. I transferred from my normal savings account last month to accommodate the exchange rate, and waited for 28 days, now 28 days has completed, and the rate has changed again. So I'd just combine the two accounts and send it. Funds in both accounts have been sitting for more than 28 days.

For those waiting for their bank statements to meet the 28-day requirement, don’t forget to monitor the exchange rate on Oanda especially if you didn’t make extra provision to hedge against sudden spikes in exchange rate.

Go on the 8th. Print out your appointment with reference number showing 8th. Most likely your name will not be on the list for that day, but persevere. Wait till they have attended to the legit people of that day, then they may give you a chance to do yours. That is how I did mine

While filling IOM data, I filled the address of the person I'm going to stay with in the UK.

While filling my CAS draft I filled same though stated that I was going to stay with this person for 1 month while I sort my accommodation. The school told me that I must go and choose 1 or 2 accommodation from thier accommodation page which I later did but still mentioned that I was going to stay with a friend for about a month before I finalize the deal. But the school nigerian rep/agent edited the whole thing before he passed it to the CAS team stating directly that the chosen school accommodation was where I was looking to stay. He deleted the part of me staying with a friend first, completely.

My concern is that this alteration makes my address data different from what was registered with IOM and what was registered with school.

Is this something to worry about?

Hi. Where did you fill the IOM data? Was it online or they gave you a form at the clinic? Why I'm asking is because whilst filling their form online, I did not see any where to input the UK address

Dont play yourself ooo. All appointments must be confirmed by the iom center via call or an email to them. Better call or email them to confirm the date for you.

Um, I got an email confirmation from them. Am I supposed to still call or email them to confirm again?

Hello all. If you are trying to book an appointment with IOM and you need a quick date, try this.
Book any date from the 18th, get a reference number, then login to your IOM page, click on manage appointment, it will give you the opportunity to change your date. I just did this and got a date for next week.


P.S: please ooo, where did y'all fill in the UK address? Whilst I was booking, there was no column for that. Just my personal details and my pp number

I was given 15 September
On Monday that I paid, I was told d earliest date they have is 14 September,so I was thinking I will get a better date.
Today, I was told d date available is 15 September, so I had to choose 15.
Your best bet is to choose 17 Sept to avoid later days

2. The name on my passport is different from my new surname as I just got married and did a change of name, something like formal name: Shola Oladele and new surname Shola Oladele-Adebowale. Will this be a problem? Would I need to go to immigration office to change the name on my passport? As my husband is planning to join me few months after. So I'll know the next step to take. Thanks

Hi. Most schools are giving late arrival dates. Why don't you check this with your school, and keep trying. Some people have not even gotten CAS, others are still on tuberculosis test. Be calm, you will get a date eventually.

To an extent, I think the best thing is to leave it. If it gets to Second week in September and I don't get any date that will not stress me, then I will ask the school to defer my admission to February so I can just focus on my work and stop messing myself up.
This experience is one I don't even wish for my worst enemy to go through.

Verve Card irrespective of the issuing bank? The card will still work on page?

You need to have a verve card to able to use paga. Also open a paga account, then link your paga account to your naira verve card at the wallet section. Paga has best rate you can find. I guess around 380 to a dollar

That what, i was told by the bank customer care who attended to me, actually i just requested my 29days of statement of account, then i was asked what i intended using it for, which i replied for Uk visa, then they told me, thy can't issue the one i requested, that it's against their policy.

I know Diamond bank does this (but for schengen visa). They would generate the statement and send it to the embassy, then they would give you a code to take to the embassy. You can submit this code also, but to be on the safe side, request for an account statement that would be stamped and signed by the bank. Just make a request as though it's a personal thing, this way you win on both ends

Some schools don't accept cash for security reasons. Check your school's policy on this.
Yes, you can carry £6k tuition in cash and as soon as you register in school, get a status letter (some banks require this in addition to your school ID, passport and BRP while some don't request for a status letter) to enable you open a bank account.
I'd advise putting your cash in a £ card (you can pay with this online or using your school's POS) if possible because that's safer since you won't be opening an account till after you register with your school and pick your BRP.

I would like to get a generator that would power 1 deep freezer (Scanfrost), One pumping machine (though they will not be in use at the same time. But whilst either is in use, i would like to power one TV, fans and light bulbs in the house.
