See the epic response (in the usual manner) that the EFCC twitter account handler gave to this twitter user, who wanted a face put to the EFCC twitter handle. Apparently, Nedu is a "corper". ![]()

jmoore:A frozen account cannot be credited or debited. However, an account with "Post No Debit" status can still be credited but cannot be debited. That is the difference between "Frozen" and "Post No Debit" |
I find this interview distasteful to the memory of everyone that was murdered that day in Awo Hall. Some of us that were lucky to survive are scared of hearing "banger" sound to this date. Don't come and boast of some mystical bull-crap tortoise saving your life. Thank God you are still alive today. May the dead continue to RIP!!! OAUPeeps: |
greenhulk:The skepticism is unnecessary! Not all banks mandate the use of hardware "token" for transfer of funds. I use one of those banks. Congrats OP on your survival of this terrible incident. The kidnappers' days are numbered! One day, their monkey go go market, e no go return. |
Like it or not, one thing delights me in all these! Sahara Reporters unbiased mode of reporting. It is arguable, no doubt. Have they gotten 100% of their stories right? Absolutely no! However, their statistics of accurate stories is comparable to the best. The best being Premium Times, for their investigative journalism. One of the tenets of good journalism is objective reporting. I find it 100% in this story. They investigated, and presented their findings. The Army also defended their Oga. Its now left for Oga Patapata, PMB to act. Hope He acts quickly too. |
There is no clime where "tax evasion" is condoned. Individuals go to prison for this in sane societies. Wesley Snipes spend some years in jail for tax evasion. Let's not be unduly sentimental! You can argue that the government is not doing anything with your tax. The tax law does not recognize that excuse for tax evasion. Just vote them out at the next elections. IT IS A CRIME TO EVADE TAX!!! |

The government has put in place a process for addressing such issues. People, who have been benefiting from the inefficiencies in the system, would not allow the change to happen. Simply put, it is corruption fighting back. To the best of my knowledge, people at the helms of affairs at the DISCO are not completely unaware of the sharp practices perpetrated by the guys in the Area offices. However, they are handicapped by the unavailable skills in the market. There is unemployment. But the available jobs do not have skilled people to fill them. Letting this people go will also cause a lot of uproar. Not even at a time like this when some banks just sacked people. BAck to the matter, what you should do: 1. Send a mail to your DISCO 2. Copy NERC (info@nercng.org) and CPC (contact@cpc.gov.ng) in the mail. OR 1. Write and send a letter of complaint to your DISCO 2. Mark a copy to NERC and CPC It may take some time but you will get the desired result. That is what we did in my neighborhood. invectives: |
There's obviously a lot of ignorance of the need and value of Insurance as demonstrated in some of the contributions to this post. The insurance law mandates every vehicle owner to have a minimum of 3rd Party insurance policy on their vehicles. National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has set the minimum amount to be paid for 3rd Party polish as N5000. Any policy less than this amount is not genuine and in the event of an incident, you can't make a claim. Police ask for it because it's compulsory by law to have one. If you have a comprehensive policy, it's even better. Some opt for the cheap, ungenuine policies so the Police can "let me go" In addition, there is usually a revenue sharing agreement between government and insurance companies for insurance purchased at the vehicle registration office. It's safer to purchase directory from an Insurance Broker or the insurance company. You'll even get professional advise on the best policy type to purchase. |
jidewin:Thanks for this piece of information. However, the location for obtaining the vaccination and issuing the Yellow Fever card has changed. The location is Ministry of Health, Port Health Office, beside the Toll Gate. If you are coming from Mafoluku Oshodi axis, turn right into the toll gate. The building is immediately after the toll gate. You should see the sign post. The procedure is also very simple and straightforward. You will need a photocopy of your Passport Biodata page and N1000. You have to go in person as proxy processing is not permitted. 1. Enter your name, Passport Number and Telephone Number in the Register provided. 2. Submit the photocopy of your Passport biodata page and N1000 to the receiving Nurses. 3. Wait on the queue for inoculation. 4. Get inoculated. 5. Collect your Yellow Card. As expected, there are touts around the premises waiting for gullible people to fleece. Don't fall victim. The process is simple and easy. It takes less than 5 minutes. Enjoy!

In a retraction published on its website, the online medium apologised to Mr Ogunlesi. Fresh facts obtained by SIGNAL, after further investigations indicate that popular journalist and writer Tolu Ogunlesi may not have written the article by The Economist, which labeled former President, Goodluck Jonathan an “ineffectual buffoon.” In a letter to Mr. Ogunlesi on Monday signed by Yemi Adebowale, the newspaper’s Editor, SIGNAL disclosed that new details available to the newspaper had shed more light on the issues raised in the initial report. Part of the letter reads: “We received your letter dated 3rd February 2016 asking our newspaper to retract and apologise over a report it published which had identified your good self as the alleged writer of an article by The Economist, which described Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan as an “ineffectual buffoon.” “Suffice it to say that fresh facts obtained by SIGNAL, after further investigations have shed more light on the issues raised in the said report. “You will recall that SIGNAL had stated in the same article that efforts to reach you to get your reactions proved abortive at the time of filing the report. “It is also on record that after the said article was published, you publicly denied the claims, which was also published in another report by our newspaper in adherence to the principles of our profession as unbiased reporters of facts for the public good. “While the said report had no defamatory import and was not intended to cause you any embarrassment, we have in adherence to journalistic ethics and standards, and in good faith, retracted the report in its entirety from our platform.” Meanwhile, SIGNAL notes that while The Economist has an anonymity policy and the news magazine does not identify authors of opinion articles it publishes, its letter to Mr. Ogunlesi acknowledges that new information has been made available to the newspaper on his alleged role in writing the article. This information comes partly by the intervention of persons close to him who say he vehemently denies being the author of the article. These are men and women of upstanding professional reputation and the newspaper respects their judgment and wise counsel on the matter. SIGNAL, therefore, defers to wise counsel and has withdrawn the original story from circulation. It has been removed from its website and the newspaper appeals to its media partners to do same or publish this update on the article on their various websites. SIGNAL also apologizes unequivocally to Mr. Ogunlesi and reiterates, once, again that there was no malicious intent in publishing the story. The newspaper tried as best to stick to facts. The newspaper hopes that this publication serves as a retraction for his use. SIGNAL wishes him success in all his future endeavours and assures its readers that the newspaper’s commitment towards informing, educating and enlightening society remains unflinching. http://www.signalng.com/16011-2/ |
There is absolutely nothing amiss in this. Even within the US, airlines serve only juices as refreshment. However, snacks and and hard drinks are available for purchase by any interested passenger. Lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill. |
Surprised no one has mentioned Accenture. You are sure of going to the US within the first year of joining. You may even travel multiple times overseas (within a year) if you are on a project that demands travelling. ![]() |

The astronaut and physicist worked to motivate young people, especially girls, to become interested in science and math On June 18, 1983, Sally Ride made history when she became the first American woman in space. On Tuesday, Google honored what would have been her 64th birthday with an animated Google Doodle. Ride was born in Los Angeles on May 26, 1951. While finishing her Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University in 1977, she applied to join NASA and was among one of six women selected to be astronaut candidates. At the age of 32, Ride became the first American woman in space while on board the Challenger space shuttle. She made another mission into orbit the following year, also on board Challenger. Ride’s partner Tam O’Shaughnessy wrote in a blog post that while in space Ride “realized how important it is for all of us to take care of our fragile home in space, and became an environmentalist.” After leaving NASA, Ride became the director of the California Space Institute and professor of physics at the University of California at San Diego. She saw how girls were being put off from pursuing careers in science and math and worked to inspire young people, especially girls and minority students, to keep up their interests in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects. I trust Fashola! The park would have been closed down tey tey . . . |
Were you wrong by not carrying your Boss' bag after she instructed you to? Personally, I dont think you were wrong. However, sometimes it depends on how the request was made in the first place. If she was carrying other things and had her hands full, she could have asked you to assist with some of the load. In this case, her handbag. But your post did not state if this was the case. I also want to believe that you would have gladly carry other items, if there were any, instead of the handbag. She may also have perceived you as "cocky" and wanted a way to bring you down. Asking you to carry her handbag being one of such ways. You could go the legal route. Get a lawyer and sue her at the National Industrial Court. She may opt for an out-of-court settlement. Most employers dont like bad publicity especially when they have major opportunities about to mature. I dont think you should take the option of continuing work there. Just get your entitlements and move on. I have a female boss and she has a reputation of shouting on people and verbally assaulting them when they make mistakes. I have been working for her for 5 months and she has never raised her voice on me, talk less of verbally abusing me, even when I made mistakes. The day she raises her voice is the day I tender my resignation. All the best in your decision. klark3: |
Source: http://www.punchng.com/news/tribunal-indicts-army-for-2014-lagos-mayhem/ The tribunal of inquiry into the July 4, 2014 vandalism of the Bus Rapid Transit vehicles in Lagos State on Monday submitted its report to Governor Babatunde Fashola, saying soldiers perpetrated the act. The submission came eight months after the state government set up a three-man tribunal chaired by Justice Ebenezer Adebajo (retd) to investigate the cause of the incident which occurred at the Palmgrove area of the state. Adebajo, while reading the tribunal findings, said, “The accident occurred on July 3, 2014, when a soldier – late Lance Corporal Matthew Ishaya – ran his motorcycle, with registration number, MUS-565 QB, into a stationary BRT bus, MO63, at the Palmgrove bus stop on the Ikorodu Road.” He noted that the accident occurred outside the BRT corridor, adding, “the soldier caused his death.” Explaining how the accident occurred, the chairman said, “The BRT was stationary on the highway as a result of low fuel supply. The BRT bus was left on the highway longer than necessary. “The late soldier rode his motorcycle without a helmet. This action is against Section 3 (3) of the Road Traffic Law 2012.” The chairman stated that the discovery of Ishaya’s corpse on July 4, 2014, led to the mayhem. He said, “Extensive vandalism, burning of BRT buses, destruction of personal phones, harassment of innocent citizens which followed the death of the soldier were caused by soldiers of the 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ikeja Cantonment. “For perpetrating this act, the tribunal has recommended that apology should be demanded by the Governor of Lagos State from the Nigerian Army. The Nigerian Army should, on behalf of the 9th Brigade, Ikeja Cantonment, Ikeja, apologise in writing to the people of Lagos State. And it should be published in at least two national newspapers.” Responding, Fashola said, “We will act on the recommendation and learn from it. And very soon, we will issue a whitepaper on it. It will communicate government’s stance on the recommendation and the action that will follow. “The protection of life and property remain the principal reason for government’s existence. Whenever such occurrence that happened on July 4, 2014 occur, we must do everything to ensure that they it doesn’t occur again.” |
