You are right, but to correct you. My job contract is in English, and yes, it's a German company. I also previously worked for a German company when I was a student, the job contract is in German and English.

I studied in Germany, and the Ausländer officer speaks English with me right from day one of my student permit, to blue card. I've been in Germany for almost 3.5 years, I can't speak German.

It's not a do or die, if you work in IT... My company emails, meeting and documentation is 100 percent in English.

But I have applied for an integration course, though; I intend to start in October.

Exactly

Congratulations JahBwoy!

I am currently in the interview process for a tech role in Berlin. I have done 4 interviews, one more to go, fingers crossed
I don't want my current Manager to know I am looking for another job.

Please I have few questions
1. what kind of work references did you provide to your employer?
2. In what format? (Letter or Email)
3. Will they call the references from my previous jobs? I am just asking to know if and when to notify them

4. Also, how long did it take to Notorize your degree?
I studied Engineering and my school and course is listed in the Anabin website.

Please house, anyone that has gone through the Germany interview process should please shed more light.

Hi Anita. Wishing you success in your remaining round of interviews wink
My company did not ask for references. I doubt yours will. If they do see if you can use references from a previous employment or your trusted padi. It doesn’t have to be your manager. A colleague can act as a Technical Lead or something.

For number 4. My company took care of the process.
I sent them certified copies of my transcript , degree cert from my school, and just a copy of my waec. That process plus preapproval took 3-4 months. I don’t know if preaproval or the conversion of my certs caused the delay. So just brace up.

To everyone here planning to come to Germany, wether you require the A1 certificate or not, try ti be learning German o. You will still require both A1 to B1 when you arrive here, no matter what visa type you came with.
You will find it difficult to work without knowledge of German. Everything would suddenly be scary to you.

Lol depends sha on your location and work environment

I agree that learning German is important for integration but it's not a do or die affair from my experience. My work is fully in English and most residents here understand basic English. I've almost never met anyone here who can't understand English

You can do it online or should I give you the contact of the sales person that did mine. She'd send you a form to fill and snap and a code to make payment

I have a couple of questions, I will really appreciate if it is answered.

My company applied for pre-approval some weeks back but we got a letter from Federal Employment Agency that I don't need pre-approval because I qualify for Blue card. I went on to apply for blue card appointment and I did my interview two weeks ago. Now the problem is I can't get an appointment date for my wife because I applied to blue card and not via the skilled immigration act category. I urged my Employer to try to apply for pre-approval for me once again on the basis that my wife needs it to get a faster appointment date but they are a bit reluctant to do that, They advised I get to Germany first and try to reapply for pre-approval. Now my questions:-

1) is it possible to apply again for pre-approval when I get to Germany ?
2) Is there anyone who has experienced this problem ( Pre-approval denied because of blue card qualification ) and was still able to get a faster appointment date for their spouse?
3) Is it possible to apply again for pre-approval by myself ?
4) I have booked a family reunion appointment for my wife, it takes a year as we know. Is it possible to get her a visit visa while awaiting an appointment date for family reunion ? If yes how long does it take to get an appointment for visit visa ?

A bit strange not to get pre-approval for blue card,

But i Think an option to make family relocation faster when you get Germany is to let your HR write a letter of invitation for your wife on your behalf. I am not so sure were to send, I think directly to the embassy or employers office, I have read it on the thread that it significantly reduced the time of processing

Hey bro. I think most entry restrictions have been lifted and you don't even need a vaccination card (Please bring it along anyways).
You can check the requirements here: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/coronavirus/2317268#content_0 and also remember to check it regularly before your departure incase of new updates.

Been able to get someone to translate as my employer is not doing that for me, and they informed me I do not need the Apostille for Nigerian docs.

How long did the pre-approval take for you?

A while... Maybe 3 months ..

It does take a while

Hello everyone,

My employer is asking for German translation of my degree and Apostille of my Degree for the pre-approval. Has anyone recently done any of this that can guide where to do this?

Thank you

My employer did this on my behalf. All I did was send them certified copies of my transcript and certificate. and a regular copy of my waec

The wait for the pre-approval is tiring. My wife’s employer has been on this for a month now. Could you please give a run through of what the process is like after the pre-approval. Did you travel alone or with your family?

A month? Haha. Second name for German process is patience .. the good thing is, once pre approval is done it takes less than two weeks to get visa after embassy appointment.

No run down like that o. My company asked for certified copies of my transcript and BSc certificate and copy of my waec.

Converted my Bsc to German equivalent on my behalf. That process took more than 3 months or there about. I booked appointment after that..

And pre-approval was completed few days to my appointment. I did not even go to embassy with the document. My employer sent it to me after the visa interview but already told me via email it was completed.

Everything took like four months. And nope I'm traveling alone.

Do you have any idea how long it’d take without the preapproval. I’m currently in the 5th week of waiting

Sincerely I don't know but you have to be extremely patient. It took almost 3/4 months for my company to process mine over there. The consequences of you not having it is that, the embassy will contact the employment office that will then contact your employer. (This is the reverse of the pre-approval supposed to be initiated by your employer instead).

What you should mindful about is the patience of your employer. So long they know what's going on under the hood, they will be fine. Just be patient and pray always. You go get am

Hi guys. I’m currently in the 5th week of waiting for my visa. I thought it’d be out by the 3rd/4th week. Any advice on what to do. For context it’s a blue card visa

If your company did not do pre-approval for you. Then that's what's causing the delay.

Mine came out exactly a week
Travel / Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by JahBwoy: 2:07pm On Jun 28, 2022
Just received my signed passport. Thank you Jesus.

Everything from embassy appointment took 2 weeks.

From what I observed, recognition of certificate plus pre-approval letter makes work visa easier and faster x2.

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions.

Did my Blue card interview today

My interviewer honestly told me that I need to be patient

Considering that I should have been in the UK since if I took the UK offer, it's kinda difficult to wait. But we wait regardless
