A woman abandoned her husband & her four (4) year old son for her rich boyfriend & they both (woman & boy friend) eventually travelled to the U.S.A

Out of frustration & desperation the husband went & married another woman.

Unfortunately the 2nd woman couldn't bear a child for the husband.

 Despite her inability to bear a child, the 2nd woman took great care of the boy & treated him like her own son.

Few years later, the husband died in a car accident. 

The 2nd wife did everything in her power to educate the boy, she engaged in petty trade such as pepper, maggie, salt, palm oil, onion, tomatoes, etc, in the market square in order to sponsor the boy's schooling. 

The boy only knew his step mother as his real mother & there4, he called her Mama.

The real mother in the U.S.A did not for once find out about the wellbeing of her son thoughtless of sending a penny for the boy, even after she heard that her x-husband (son's father)  died in an accident.

Some years later, this boy grew up into a very intelligent young man waiting for his B.A Hons degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University.

The real mother who also could not bear another child in the U.S since she eloped with her boyfriend, realized that she had made a terrible mistake by abandoning her own son. 

She decided to return home to look for her son & present to him all her wealth acquired over the years in the States. 

She eventually found her son battling between life & death in the hospital for kidney failure. 

The Doctors demanded huge amount of money for the operation & the step mother couldn't afford it.

The real mother stepped in & paid all the hospital bills & donated one of her own kidneys & the son was saved.

Shortly after, the final results were out the son got a distinction & also got a five year (5) scholarship to pursue his Masters and PhD degrees in the U.K

At the presentation of the certificate, the Vice Chancellor gave the mic to the son to call his mother to come up stage & receive the certificate. 

The moment the Vice Chancellor made the statement, the real mother got up & arranged herself waiting to be called upon whilst the step mother sat down & looked at the boy with tears running her chick.

20 Minute Lemon, Garlic & Herb Baked Cod

This recipe is quick, delicious -- and chances are, you have most of these ingredients in your spice rack and fridge!



Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 lemon, juice and zest, divided
¾ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon black pepper
4–8 ounce Alaskan Cod fillets


Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

In a small bowl, combine olive oil and panko breadcrumbs, tossing well to coat evenly; set aside.

In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, garlic, lemon zest, salt, paprika and pepper.

Spoon this mixture over the top of each fillet, spreading evenly, then press the panko breadcrumb mixture on top of each fillet. Place the fillets on the baking sheet, breading side up.

Bake 12-15 minutes, until firm
Serve with reserved lemon juice.

Arsenal midfielder, Mohamed Elneny, has revealed that manager Arsene Wenger had advised him to reduce his shooting and be more of a an intelligent player.

The Egypt international, who joined the Gunners in January, was speaking to Arsenal Magazine, about how he has settled at the Emirates.

“I used to shoot a lot when I was at Basel but sometimes that doesn’t suit our style here. [Wenger] taught me to be more of a team player and to be intelligent in terms of when I shoot,” Elneny said.

“I also paid attention to my teammates and took their advice. That has helped me to improve my performances already.

“The most important thing for me has been listening to Arsene Wenger’s advice and putting it into action.

“The manager has been giving me advice since the first day I arrived at the training ground.

“He’s also helped me to understand the system and playing style he prefers to see us playing.”

We are deeply perturbed by the escalating  conflicts between heavily-armed cattle herdsmen and  indigenous communities, especially in the four geopolitical zones of North Central, South East, South West and South-South. We have raised the alarm several times on this issue.

Our voice has resonated with those of countless other Nigerians in the swelling chorus of calls on the Federal Government to frontally and immediately mobilise the Nigerian armed forces to arrest the menace of these gunmen.

From the plains of Plateau, Nasarawa and southern parts of Kaduna States, these armed desperados have increased in numbers, pouring southward into Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, Ogun, Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Enugu, Abia, Anambra, Delta, Edo and parts of Rivers States.

They brazenly herd their livestock into people’s farmlands and threaten them with their deadly weapons at the slightest sign of protest. Some of them even go beyond that and engage in criminal ventures such as kidnapping, armed robbery, murders and rape.

They sometimes block the highways and inflict life-threatening injuries on their victims. The worst part of it all is that, as in the case of Agatu in Benue State, they drive indigenous people from their communities and occupy same in a fashion reminiscent of medieval conquests.

Even more worrisome still is the fact that these gunmen openly brandish their sophisticated weapons and very little is done by the law-enforcement agencies to enforce the law prohibiting the illegal possession of unlicensed firearms which the rest of the society is strictly bound to observe.

We admit that this menace has been there for over a decade, but what was seen as isolated cases of infractions has ballooned in scale and thrust in the past one year, with the law enforcement agencies showing a singular lack of interest to confront it.

Fulani herdsmen have cohabited peacefully with their host communities and land-owners in all parts of the country for ages. Why the sudden upsurge of invasions and violent criminalities among these gangs of “herdsmen”?

We, once again, call on the Federal Government to order a crackdown on this menace in the same manner that Boko Haram, the Shiites, Biafra agitators, pipeline vandals and others have been militarily confronted.

We hope this is done quickly to avoid matters getting to a breaking point where communities might be forced to raise their own respective militias for the defence of their homelands. The security agencies must wake up, do their jobs and head off possible outbreak of anarchy in Nigeria. A stitch in time saves nine.

Star Yoruba movie actress, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, Wednesday had a bruise with some armed policemen in Osogbo when her vehicle she was traveling with was impounded by them.

It was gathered that while a minor misunderstanding between the actress and the policemen that impounded her vehicle appeared settled, and her seized vehicle particulars released, some armed policemen suddenly appeared and rearrested the actress and her driver.

Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the actress who was travelling in gold-colour Honda end-of-discussion, was flagged down while driving towards Olaiya Junction in Osogbo.

A source added that the vehicle was allegedly arrested because its driver was making call while others claimed police cap was put on the dash board of the vehicle which attracted the policemen.

Her presence immediately attracted large crowd at the ever-busy Orita-Olaiya, which nearly led to the policemen being mobbed. The visibly angry Aigbe-Gentry, was seeing making calls and had to be perceived before she agreed to leave the scene even as many of those gathered verbally attacked those that arrested her.

However, when the artiste and her co-travellers were released, about five new armed policemen latter arrived the scene, and fired several shots into the air while the artist and others travelling with her were arrested and whisked away.

Reacting, ASP Egbedele, the assistant Police Public Relations Office, PPRO, Osun state Police command, explained that the matter was a minor traffic issue, adding that it has been settled.

A Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, on Monday sentenced to three years imprisonment, Mr. George Uboh, who accused a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, of diverting loot recovered from suspects.

Justice S.E Aladetoyinbo convicted Uboh and sentenced him to three years imprisonment on charges of criminal breach of trust bordering on his roles in converting the vehicles of the defunct Police Equipment Foundation to his own use.

The judge imposed an option of N1m fine on Uboh.

Uboh paid the N1m fine and was released to go immediately after the judgment was passed.

Though Uboh was charged under the provisions of section 314, he was convicted under section 312 of the law which also bordered on another variant of breach of trust, because the EFCC was unable to prove that he (Uboh) was an employee of PEF.

Justice Aladetoyinbo in convicting him held that there was inconsistency in his statement at the point of his arrest and during trial.

Uboh was said to have claimed that the vehicles in question were compensation for the debt the PEF owed him and during trial he claimed that the vehicles were used for trade by barter for the debt the foundation was owing him.

Uboh was arraigned by the EFCC on a three count charge bordered on criminal breach of trust involving the sale of PEF vehicles.

He allegedly abused his position as a former Head of Security and Communication Department, Police Equipment Foundation, to convert the properties of the foundation to his personal use.

He had pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him by the judge. This set the stage for a full trial during which the prosecution called several witnesses to prove its case.

Uboh claimed that the former National Coordinator, PEF, Kenny Martins, gave him some PEF vehicles to offset the debt owed him by the Foundation.

The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement on Monday that,  “during cross-examination, he (Uboh) admitted that he did not have any evidence of transfer of ownership of the vehicles from PEF.”

Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, has again called for understanding over the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.

Speaking in Lagos at a town hall meeting, Kachikwu lamented that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) cannot track fuel trucks as there were cases of diversion to other countries.

“Over 30 per cent of (fuel) supply is diverted,” he said.

“For example, in the last five days, we have pumped 400 trucks of product into Lagos state. The total consumption (in the state) at the maximum is 250 trucks, and most of those trucks are diverted from Lagos to the hinterland of Chad and Cameroon.

“We need, literally, a whole army to stop this from happening. So I continue to supply and over-supply and so we struggle.”

Calling on Nigerians to report incidents of diversion of fuel, Kachikwu said “We started publishing deliveries and telling you the filling stations they were allocated to, so if you don’t find products in those filling stations, there are hotlines to call and for police to report.”

Kachikwu said the NNPC was currently burdened with the entire work of supply and regulation, and takes all the loss.

Nigerian pop star, Terry G, has refuted claims he had a romantic relationship with actress and model, Beverly Osu.

The Benue-born artist averred that the widespread speculation that he had an affair with Beverly were all lies.

He told the Punch recently, “That is a false notion; I was not involved in any amorous relationship with Beverly Osu.

When asked if he broke up with Beverly (according to claims) because he did not want to marry someone who drinks and smokes like him, the Akpako master said, “How can you break up with or break the heart of someone you were never in a relationship with in the first instance?

“We were not in any kind of love relationship; She is my sister in the Lord, I am her Christian brother and she is my Christian sister. It was a Christian relationship,” Terry G said, adding that he was still in touch with the model, “but only as a member of my church.”

Speaking further, the ‘Free Madness’ crooner who recently survived a car accident, said it was true he imitated social engineer cum showbiz impresario, Charly Boy, as hearsays had it.

Nigerian singer, born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, says his marriage will be a quiet one, that nobody would be aware of it.

He noted that his status as a married man ‘when it happens’, would not make him put an end to his music career.

In a chat with the Punch, he said, “I would tell you the truth, I am not married but if I am, nobody would hear about it. Besides, who says I am not married?

“It is going to be a very quiet wedding because I am tired of people asking me that question. It is my personal life and it is not going to change my music or brand.

“I am not going to get married just because people want me to, neither would I do it just to enter another phase of my life just like some of my colleagues have done. They make it seem as if once you are married you have retired. But that should not be the case.

“Marriage would not change anything about me and whenever it happens, nobody would hear about it, there would only be speculations. My wife would not be seeking for fame because the one I have is already enough for all my family members.

“When I get married, it would be a very quiet one. Who knows, it might have already happened,” the Koko master added.

It would be recalled that the ‘Emergency’ crooner few days ago, said he was under pressure to get married.

The 36-year-old singer-songwriter told South African radio host, that his mother only cared about his getting married and not exactly his success.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Monday, secured the conviction of a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly and former Caretaker Chairman, Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the state, Gabriel Daudu, for a N1.4 billion fraud.

Daudu, who was first arraigned in April 2010, was prosecuted by the EFCC on a 208 count charge bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who presided over the case at a Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, found him guilty of 77 counts and sentenced him to 154 years imprisonment.

In his ruling, the trial judge, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt, and therefore, sentenced Daudu to two years on each of the 77 counts to run concurrently.

Before the conviction of Daudu, prosecuting counsel, Wahab Shittu, tendered various exhibits before the court and fielded 13 witnesses to prove the case against him.

It would be recalled that in the course of the trial presided over by Justice Ekwo, had indicated that the trial might have to start afresh as the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, had asked Justice P.M. Ayuba of the Lokoja Division of the court to take over the case.

However, Shittu had pleaded with Justice Auta to review the decision. The Chief Judge, thereafter, returned the case file to Justice Ekwo, who has now found Daudu guilty of the 77 counts.

The senate of the University of Lagos(Unilag) has directed each of its returning students to complete an undertaking form and get it notarized as a condition to be readmitted into the institution from May 2.

This is contained in a statement by the institution’s Deputy Registrar, Information Unit, Mr Toyin Adebule, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos. NAN reports that the university’s senate had on Friday April 8, ordered that the university be shut down indefinitely, following days of students’ protest on campus.

The students had claimed that there were inadequate municipal facilities on campus which included poor electricity and water supply. The students alleged that the management was not sensitive to their plights and ,therefore, decided to embark on a peaceful protest on campus for them to the attention of the university management.

According to the statement, the senate at an emergency meeting on Friday, April 22, directed that full academic activities would resume on Monday, May 2. It added that in preparation for the resumption, students were expected to adhere strictly to all the guidelines posted to the university’s website.

It also directed them to down load the undertakings and the indemnity form. The guidelines include: a directive that students must complete the undertaking form and get it notarized. “Also, parents and guardians are to complete the parents’ indemnity form. “The completed undertaking form which must be notarized as well as the parents’ indemnity form must be submitted at the various departments and a clearance obtained,” it said.

The statement added that the clearance would be required to gain access into examination halls on May 9 when examinations will commence. According to it, all students accommodated in the halls of residence are to obtain clearance from the departmental officer. It noted that such clearance must be presented at the halls of residence to gain access into the rooms from Monday, May 2.

It added that students were expected to visit the university website from Friday, April 22 and complete the clearance process on or before Monday, May 2. “Examination will commence from May 9. Consequently, students are expected to generate their examination dockets and ensure they are duly endorsed by their course advisers between Monday, April 25 and Monday, May 2.

“We want to emphasise that no student will be readmitted without completing the above process,” the statement said. According to the statement, the university on its part will endeavour to provide electricity in the various halls of residence between the hours of 7a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.

It noted that the boreholes in the hostels would continue to provide water supply to the students until normal supply from the Lagos State Water Corporation (LSWC) resumed.

It also said that examination would commence on Monday May 9 and urged all the students to confirm their examination time table from the various faculties and departments.

A Pennsylvania teacher’s aide has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student for the last month.

Christine Towers, a former employee at Conestoga High School in the Philadelphia suburb of Berwyn, was charged Thursday with four counts of having sex with a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of a minor.

After being questioned by detectives this week, the teen said that the 26-year-old Towers had struck up their relationship with a kiss while he was being tutored one-on-one.

A statement from the school’s superintendent said that Towers only worked as an aide at the school until February, though court documents list the offenses on March 17.

Her lawyer told Philly.com that she had been assisting the girls softball team at the time of the accusations, but resigned this week.

Towers coached a number of girls sports at the school, which said that it did not have information about any other students being romantically involved with her.

She was released on bail after being arraigned Thursday morning.

The teacher’s supposed conduct is not the first scandal to hit the suburban high school this year.

Last month three senior players on the varsity football team were charged with assault for allegedly sodomizing a freshman with a broom handle on “No Gay Thursdays,” according toABC6. 

Prosecutors alleged oter other harassment including older students forcing underclassmen to UnCloth and upperclassmen putting their genitals on their younger peers.

The team's coac resigned after the accusations.

A new pop-up restaurant in London called The Bunyadi will give diners the option to chow down in the buff starting in June.

Launched by Lollipop, the creators of “Breaking Bad”-inspired bar ABQ, the spot will “take diners to a beginning where everything was fresh, free and unadulterated from the trappings of modern life,” according to a press release.

The eatery will feature wood-flame grilled food served on handmade clay plates with edible cutlery “in a space voice of the industrialized-world’s modern trappings.”

“We believe people should get the chance to enjoy and experience a night out without any impurities: no chemicals, no artificial colors, no electricity, no gas, no phone and even no clothes if they wish to,” said Lollipop founder Seb Lyall.

“The idea is to experience true liberation.”

However, not everyone has to be liberated. The central London space will be divided into two sections — one for the clothed and one for those choosing to fill their bellies in their birthday suits.

The decor will be minimalist, with bamboo partitions and wood-hewn furniture.

“We have worked very hard to design a space where everything patrons interact with is bare and naked,” Lyall said.

Although the possibility of spilling hot food in one’s lap or being eye-level with the wrong kind of sausages may not be appealing to everyone, there are plenty of people who are interested. As of Wednesday morning, there were already more than 4,600 people on the wait list.

Researchers in a new study reported on Tuesday at the American Society for Nutrition annual meeting in San Diego that people who consume a lot of processed carbohydrates, think snack foods and sweets and sugary drinks may face heightened risks of breast and prostate cancers.

According to Webmd, given that breast and prostate cancers are two of the most common cancers in the United States, the connection gives more reason for people to cut processed foods from their diets, a lead researcher Nour Makarem has said.

Makarem, a Ph.D. candidate in nutrition at New York University said, “The carbohydrate quality of your diet matters for a number of reasons.”

In general, health experts already recommend limiting sugary drinks and processed carbohydrates, and eating more fruits, vegetables, legumes, fiber-rich whole grains and “good” unsaturated fats.

Makarem added that the new findings, though considered preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed medical journal adds more weight to that advice.

She pointed, in particular, to the link her team found between sugar-sweetened drinks (both soda and fruit juice) and prostate cancer risk. Compared with men who never drank sugary beverages, those who had them a few times a week showed more than triple the risk of developing prostate cancer.

According to a report in the Telegraph of UK, Swedish scientists who carried out similar research and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, tracked the health of more than 8,000 men aged 45 to 73 for an average of 15 years.

All were in good health when the study began, and were asked about what they liked to eat and drink.

Those who drank more sugary drinks were more likely to have been diagnosed with prostate cancer by the end of the study.

Isabel Drake, a researcher at Lund University, said: “Among the men who drank a lot of soft drinks, we saw an increased risk of prostate cancer of around 40 per cent.”

The scientists who carried out the study said that while genetics were more important in determining the likelihood of developing prostate cancer than was the case with many other cancers, diet did seem to be important.
