PoliticsFayose Causing Confusion In Our Party – PDP by Jahelastic(op): 12:05pm On May 14, 2016
The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State of causing confusion in the party.

It said the governor was behind the plan to hold the South-West zonal congress in Akure on Saturday despite the court order which asked the party to suspend the exercise.

National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, stated this while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Saturday.

Oladipo said that the party had decided to obey the order of Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos, which restrained the party from going ahead with its zonal congress.

Apart from Akure, another faction of the party had planned to hold a separate zonal congress in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State on the same day before the court order was served on the party’s national leadership.

The judge had ruled on an ex parte application brought before him on Thursday by the incumbent PDP South-West Zonal Secretary, Chief ‘Pegba Otemolu, and  restrained the party from going ahead with the scheduled congress.

The judge said the order would subsist until the final determination of Otemolu’s main suit.

But a day later, Fayose had stormed the national secretariat in Abuja, where he boasted that the congress would go ahead.

Oladipo said on Saturday that the National Legal Adviser of the party, Mr. Victory Kwon, had advised the party to obey the order of the court, which he said was served on him(Oladipo) and the party on Friday afternoon.

He also said that the National Chairman, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff who he said was not at the party secretariat on Friday when the order was served, had been notified.

Oladipo, who is the head of the party’s national secretariat said, “Governor Fayose is not a member of the National Working Committee of the PDP, but he’s causing confusion with his utterances.

“We are not dabbling into his government and he has no right to tell us how to run the party here. We have an order of the court stopping the congress. The governor cannot overrule the court.

“He should behave like other governors who do not dabble into the running of the party at the national level. He should learn from Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State who respect the party and the President of the country.

“The order of the court was even published in three national dailies and therefore, he can’t deny he was not aware.

“Our National Legal adviser who is the Chief Legal Adviser of the part, Mr. Victor Kwon, has advised that we comply with the order and we are complying with it. We are not above the law of the land.”

Oladipo said whatever result that come out of the convention would not be respected by the party as it would amount to waste of time and resources.

According to him, “Those who want to claim they want to organise any conference are doing that on their own, not on behalf of the party.

“Whatever come out of it would be null and void because we are not monitoring it just as the Independent National Electoral Commission has also been informed about the order of the court.

“So, the commission will also not be part of any illegality . We definitely won’t be part of it.”

Our correspondent gathered that INEC had been served with the court order and had directed its officers to stay away from fine congress.

But the governor said he was attending the congress as a loyal member of the party.

The governor, who spoke with through his Media Aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka, said he was only invited to attend the congress.

He said, “Fayose is not a member of the NWC, he isnot a member of the congress committee but he was invited as a member of the party.

“The congress committee is in Akure and that’s why we are attending. Oladipo is an interested party. The governor is interested in the smith-running of the party. The party is not run on the pages of the newspaper.

“If the national chairman said he was not aware of the court order as at Friday, why trying to stop the congress then? Fayose is not interested in any crisis. “

Nairaland GeneralMan Who Wears Only Agbada In Europe: Israel Made Me Drop The Bible by Jahelastic(op): 10:02am On May 14, 2016
Engr. Jacob Imade Iyamu has been living in Germany since the early 80s although he left the shores of Nigeria in the late 70s.  But unlike many people living in Europe and Americas, he could count the number of times he has won suits just as he has never won jeans in his life no matter how cold it is in winter or how warm in summer.

The Edo state Nigeria born brewing engineer is the Brew Master at Binding, one of Germany’s largest breweries based in Frankfurt where he has worked for many years.

In this chat, the President of Edo state Union in state of Hessen,   Germany speaks about his odyssey to Europe and his challenges and achievements so far plus his unflinching love for Nigeria.

Coming to Europe

I left Nigeria a long time ago..in 1979 to be precise. I first went to Israel in 1979 before setting foot in Germany in 1981. I studied Brewery Technology at Munich, Germany as well as Micro electronics and Information Tech.

Before then I had taught at a secondary school after leaving secondary school in 1975. I then went to work with Barclays Bank, Benin where I encountered several expatriates from Ireland, Germany and other countries who were working with the Guinness Breweries in Benin at that time. They often came to the bank to remit their salaries back to their countries.

Some of these people were fond of me inviting me to social gatherings in their clubs after work. I won’t forget Mr. Zimmermann who worked with Guinness who often warned me not to die in the banking hall. He told me to go to school and improve on my life. Then in 1977, graduate bankers were earning N204 monthly while we took home N256. In every society, bankers are well paid so I was apparently enjoying the work until Mr Zimmermann started his inspiration.

I won’t also forget one Mrs. Akpata, one of our customers then. She also told me that she would even contribute to my education if I got admission. Mrs. Akpata went further to give me the address of a school in Cyprus. I applied to study at the Cyprus College of Technology and was given admission two months after.

Off to Cyprus

I had bought a return air ticket for N606 for the trip.

Several of my friends gave me support to travel. The Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion also bought me the travel box with which I traveled. One was permitted to travel with N1000 BTA. I went to the Italian Embassy to get a Visa. Even Turkey also granted me visa so I traveled with Zambian Airlines to Cyprus.

At Cyprus, I discovered that it was not the kind of place I wanted to be so I started to think of changing base. Turkey and Israel came to my mind until I made up my mind on Israel.

Adventures in Israel

My brother, it was in Israel that I dropped my Bible. I use to be a member of the Scripture Union in those days but my stay in Israel was all that changed my views.

I had left Cyprus with two Nigerians I had met, Moses and Benjamin. It was a twelve hour sail from Cyprus to Haifa where we landed early in the morning. We then journeyed to Jerusalem. My aged mum would tease us as kids by saying ‘If you ran from Jerusalem to Jericho, I will find you’ so I wished to see those places that my mother would always yell about.

We stayed for a while in Jerusalem, then visited Jericho, Sea of Galilee and Bethlehem, My account was fast depleting as my two friends were basically under my care. We headed to Tel Aviv where I met face to face with Jews who showed the biggest discrimination I have ever seen in my life time.

You are either born a Jew or not. We heard of the Kibut while exploring Golan and Tel Kasia and volunteered to join. It was a group that helped students with info and jobs and other forms of assistance. We were shocked that at a Christmas party they did not invite us even when we were members of same grouping.

We were the only blacks . It was another movement to Tel Aviv where I met one Bini man like me, Whyte Eguakum who was then working in a restaurant in Tel Aviv. We decided to trail further into the Red Sea regions of Elat where the sea enters Egypt. We got a job at Neptune Hotels then moved to Red Rock. After about a month, or two, I started with the Jewish language because communication is key.

Yet it was too difficult to work and school in Israel. My two other friends returned to Cyprus and Turkey but I slugged it out in Israel for the next two years before returning to Nigeria to replenish my account by my parents to move again. I got $1000. About this time, I had given my world wide ticket to one Igbinovia and he flew with it to the US.

During that return to Nigeria, I started having other views. I had agreed with my friends Godwin and Fred that we would travel to Germany so I returned to Israel. I went to the German Embassy to seek advice and they linked me up with the Goethe Institute.

Landing in Germany

I felt a different aura in Germany as compared with all the other countries I had visited. I landed in Munich and asked myself what I had been doing perambulating in Israel, Turkey and Cyprus. It was on April 1981 that I landed but by May,   1, I had started language course which took a period of six months. I was also seeking answers about my career but saw no one to ask my questions.

I knew I was a science student. Then someone advised I attend a brewery school so I did enter Munich Akademy Grefenfing, a teaching and research institute where I did six months of practical work while also doing theories. I completed the studies in 1984.

Change of mind

After the course, I started feeling a bit indifferent about brewing and making beer.

Again, I didn’t want to return to Nigeria yet or marry a German wife so I enrolled again to do Micro electronics after which I went to work in IT for Siemens at Karlsurhe. From Siemens, I moved on to Osborne Computers which then promised heaven on earth but later closed down. It was then I dusted up my brew tech certificates and went to work for Sparten Breweries, then to Hassia und Luisen, the water and soft drinks manufacturer.

They bottle Pepsi and many other brands of juices. Me and my work It was in February, 1992 that I wrote an application and posted that I wanted to work for the Radebager Group with two breweries in Frankfurt. They replied and called me for an interview which was done in the evening on the day.

And since the last 24 years since 1992, I have never been late to work except only once neither have I reported sick. As Brewmeister at Binding Breweries, my work is general quality control to taste, bottling and all for the brewery that bottles over 31 products with seven machines each corking 80,000 bottles in one hour. Nigerian to the bone I feel sad when I hear bad stories about my country Nigeria.

I love my country Nigeria to the bone. It is my beloved country. Despite all I have seen worldwide, I have not seen a country like Naija. I have never felt like changing my identity and my nationality. I don’t carry a German passport even though several people like me do.   I see myself as a good Nigerian living in Germany. I sing Sonny Okosuns all the time; Nigeria….

My Papa’s land. It is this deep sense of patriotism that compelled me whenever I was on leave while working for Hassia, to spend it in Nigeria. I would go to Bendel Breweries to seek to work for free but they won’t allow me in. They were producing Crystal and Henningar then. It was disappointing though. I still spend my leave in Nigeria every year.

We must get something good out of our country no matter what. I have been wearing agbada and other forms of traditional wears since I left Nigeria in 1979 whether it is summer or winter. It gives me the identity of whom I am and where I am coming from. Few times I have won suits. I could make a count of the times I have won suits and it was mainly those days at the bank when it was a requirement for work. I have never won jeans in my life.

PoliticsI Prostrated Before Obasanjo, Begging For Forgiveness – Okupe by Jahelastic(op): 9:02am On May 14, 2016
Former senior special assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on public affairs, Doyin Okupe, has recounted how he begged and prostrated before former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Narrating his encounter with the former president on his Facebook page, Friday, Dr. Okupe said he ( Obasanjo),” descended on me heavily and vented his anger copiously.

I prostrated and held his feet as a well trained Yoruba man and pleaded earnestly for his forgiveness.” Okupe wrote: ” Last Sunday , in the company of some friends I met with Baba Obasanjo principally to try and settle and resolve the misunderstanding that has existed between Baba and I since I joined the Jonathan’s administration,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, May 13.

“Vintage Baba, he descended on me heavily and vented his anger copiously. I prostrated and held his feet as a well trained Yoruba man and pleaded earnestly for his forgiveness, occasionally given short explanations for areas I considered my actions were misunderstood. “Also typical of Baba, ever willing to forgive a repentant son, we embraced, I even kissed him as a loving son.

“Politics sometimes is such a bad business, you hurt your friends and even benefactors, but its all that is well that ends well.” Okupe is one of the Chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West, who vowed to pull out of the party if its Chairmanship position is not zoned to the region.

Nairaland General‎new PMS Price Would Crash In 3 Months – APC by Jahelastic(op): 11:16pm On May 13, 2016
The All Progressives Congress APC has lent its voice to the federal government’s removal of fuel subsidy, saying, the pump price of fuel would crash within the next three months.

APC said, like the Global System of Mobile telecommunication, GSM, the price of fuel is bound to reduce soon as a result of increased competition. National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun stated this on Friday in Abuja during a brief chat with journalists.

“From our point of view as a party, it has become necessary to fully and in order to recover from the economic situation which we have been plunged to totally free the economy and let the normal laws of demand and supply operate.

Of course, with government standing by to protect the long suffering Nigerian who is at the margin. If is unfortunate, it is painful what has happened, it will increase cost in all directions. But in the medium term, in three months at best, I foresee that the prices will come crashing down when there is availability.

NNPC will continue to be in the field anyway either through the refineries whenever our pipelines are allowed to function or through importation and so will continue to be a player in the fuel supply market. Prices are bound to come down. A typical example is what happened when mobile phones were introduced.

I remember that I bought a SIM card for over N30,000, but today, it is virtually free. If we free the fuel market, that same thing will happen which was as a result of competition is likely to happen. “Over time, the subsidy regime has become so intensely manipulated, so abused that it really was no longer operating in the interest of the Nigerian public.

I think that it has become very clear that the kind of queues that has become endemic over several regimes in this nation is a clear indication that something has gone seriously wrong with the subsidy regime. Those who were privileged were exploiting it to amass more wealth. Meanwhile, the people for whom it was basically meant had to bear the cost in higher transport fare.

Each time these queues develop, of course the ordinary Nigerian bears the cost while the importers and manipulators of the system are the ones that makes all the money”, Oyegun said. The federal government had on Wednesday hiked fuel price to N145 from the earlier price of N86.

He added that the current budget did not provide for subsidy and so, “if the region of subsidy is to be reintroduced, it can only divert resources from the crying needs of other sectors, including the programme to help the Nigerians living at the margin”. “So, the appeal which is a very sincere appeal to the Nigerian people; yes there is a lot of hardship, yes increased pump price will also increase that hardship.

But the economy is being freed in a way that the ordinary Nigerian will become the major beneficiary and we are talking of a matter of months from removing this one last bottleneck that has held the Nigerian economy down.

So, it is an appeal and we should watch what happen in the next few months as far as the fuel issue is concerned because I am sure it will come crashing down. In any case, it will free resources eventually that will be used to create good jobs which has been promised and improve the lot of the Nigerians at the margin.

That is the message the party wants to convey. The economy is in bad shape as a result of which our people are going through hard times”, he added.

Nairaland GeneralFuel Price Increase: Increase Minimum Wage, Murray-bruce Tells Buhari by Jahelastic(op): 2:02pm On May 13, 2016
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has called on President Buhari to either increase minimum wage for workers or excuse them from paying tax to cushion the effects of the recent fuel price hike.

Murray-Bruce made the appeal via tweeter late Thursday night.

“I appeal to @MBuhari to consider the immense suffering in Nigeria and increase minimum wage to help workers cope with increased fuel price,” he tweeted.

“Either @Mbuhari increases the minimum wage to help masses cope with increased fuel price or he should allow minimum wage earners pay no tax.”

He justified the call for minimum wage increase, saying the President and his cabinet, don’t buy fuel with their money, yet earn more than minimum wage workers who do.

He accused the government of first reneging on its promise ₦5000 allowance to poor Nigerians and further adding to the suffering by increasing the fuel price.

CrimeBREAKING: EFCC Arrests Lagos Lawyer, Adegboruwa For N61m Scam by Jahelastic(op): 8:44pm On May 10, 2016
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested popular Lagos-based lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, for an alleged N61m scam.

The EFCC said on its official Facebook page that Adegboruwa allegedly conspired with some persons to lease a property in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The property in question, according to the anti-graft agency, is a subject of an Interim Forfeiture Order by a Lagos State High Court.

The statement read in part, “Lagos lawyer, Adegboruwa, has been arrested by operatives of the EFCC for dealing in a property which is a subject of an Interim Forfeiture Order by a Lagos State High Court without due authorisation.

“He allegedly conspired with some other persons to lease the property situated at House 105 Nicon Town Estate, Lekki Lagos, to one Shelf Drilling Nigeria Limited, in the sum of N61, 631,944.65. The said money was credited to his Zenith Bank’s account, from where he made disbursements. The matter will soon be charged to court.”

Adegboruwa burst into the limelight through activism as a Student Union President at the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1992.

However, he had in recent times openly defended several persons being investigated or tried by the EFCC.

He came under fire on January 11, 2016 when he filed a suit against the EFCC before the Federal High Court, Lagos, challenging the continued detention of Chief Olisa Metuh, the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party.

He, however, later withdrew from the Metuh case.

Adegboruwa is also the counsel for ex-Niger Delta militant, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, who is wanted for an alleged N45.9bn fraud involving the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.

The Lagos lawyer is also representing a cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Robert Azibaola, who confessed to collecting a $40m pipeline contract.

In a fresh suit filed last Wednesday, Adegboruwa, claimed that any attempt to make his client indict the ex-President was a violation of Section 7 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, “which has outlawed the practice of arresting a citizen as ransom for the alleged offence of another citizen.”

Nairaland GeneralInside The Candy Crush Kingdom As It Prepares To Create 2,000th Level by Jahelastic(op): 7:24pm On May 08, 2016
When it comes to mobile gaming, the Candy Crush games have proven to be sweetly addictive for hundreds of millions of active users around the world.

Sebastian Knutsson, co-founder and chief creative officer of King, the company behind Candy Crush, took ABC News on a tour of the company's Stockholm office today and offered an inside look at what life is like at one of the world's most popular gaming companies.

King became an independent unit of Activision Blizzard in February after a $5.9 billion acquisition. However, it seemed to be business as usual at the company's Stockholm office.

Before starting the tour of the office, Knutsson met ABC News in the pavilion area of the King office in Stockholm, a cartoonish open meeting area that evokes the same whimsy as King's portfolio of 200 games.

One item on today's agenda: Closing in on creating the 2,000th level of Candy Crush.

"We are getting close to producing level 2,000 on the original Candy Crush and the other games are still producing levels as well," Knutsson said. "There are some [players] at the end waiting for more content."

Surprisingly, Knutsson said about half of those power players who have made it to the end never made a single in-app purchase.

Many Candy Crush players know the feeling of getting hooked -- and then frustrated after being stuck on a certain level for too long. It's something Knutsson said the King team listens to feedback about and evaluates whether they need to make some tweaks at a certain level.

"It really comes down to making a game people can enjoy and not turning them off," Knutsson said. "Keep trying. That's the secret. I think in some cases you find that really hard level and if sometimes players complain about a level too much, we will sometimes tweak it and make sure it's still fun to play."

Nairaland GeneralFamily Of Chinese Baby Born With 15 Fingers And 16 Toes Are Seeking Help For Sur by Jahelastic(op): 3:25pm On May 08, 2016
The couple live in the rural Hunan province and can barely afford to gather fund for the surgery.

According to People's Daily, local doctors are also saying the baby, named Honghong, has an extreme case of polydactyly, and that surgery - even if they could afford it would be difficult. The surgery could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Honghong's condition came to his parents' shock because his mother has polydactyly too, (she has 12 fingers and 12 toes) and therefore had gone for numerous pre-natal scans.

The scans, reportedly done in hospitals in Shenzhen, China, which included an advanced four-dimensional ultrasound, all turned out negative, as doctors reassured her the baby would have the regular number of fingers and toes.

Polydactyly is not considered a rare genetic disorder, and affects a reported 1 in 1,000 kids according to medical journals.

CelebritiesFolake Daramola Blasts Feminists Over Comments On Gender Equality Bill by Jahelastic(op): 11:31am On May 08, 2016
Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako has responded to critics and feminists who lambasted her following her comments on the gender equality bill.

The actress who had said men and women cannot have equal rights, was backlashed by some feminists who threw darts at her on the social media, advising her never to come out again as a woman’s right activist.

Recall that the mother of two in a chat with New Telegraph had stated that the role of a man can never be over emphasised and as such, passing such bill would make no sense.

She had said, “I’m sorry I don’t think men and women should have equal rights in this case. I think the male should have more than the female, but it should be with proportion, maybe on a ration of 60 to 40.”

This did not go down well with some of her followers on Instagram as they pounced on her, abusing and calling her names.

While some said she was a disgrace to the female folk, others said her low self-esteem and mentality should not be for public consumption.

“How can you say men and women cannot have equal rights?” an Instagram user @ amosijeoma had asked her.

Responding to the criticism, Daramola told the Punch recently: “What got me upset was the fact that there are some things people talk about but they are not able to back it up with facts.

“When you say gender equality, the role of a man can never be de-emphasised to the role of a woman. That is why Hillary and Bill Clinton cannot be the president of the US at the same time. Bill Clinton had to teach her the grinds and she followed suit.

“The bible says that the man would love the woman and she would submit and respect the man. That position can never be overemphasised. I just wanted to drive some message home but later on, I felt it was not really worth it.

“When you have a bad mindset, there is no how another person can change it. My own position as a gender-based activist is not for the woman to be competing with the man but to complement him. In the scheme of things, the man would always be the head and the woman would be the neck. It does not mean that the woman cannot turn the head to whatever direction she feels like.”

Crime‘scammers Open 300 Emails, 10 Facebook Accounts 7 Twitter Handles’ For Aviation by Jahelastic(op): 10:50am On May 08, 2016
Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Abubakar Sirika, has alerted the public on the activities of scammers who opened 300 emails and 10 Facebook accounts in his name to defraud Nigerians.

Sirika told journalists in Abuja, yesterday, that he had to delete his original Facebook account because he discovered that there were 10 other accounts opened in his name “I want to categorically state that I no longer have a Facebook account because there are about 10 Facebook accounts in my name. I have no email also because there are about 300 emails opened in my name and seven twitter handles in my name”, he stated.

“I do not partake in the entire social media platform like I saw one email this morning which is not mine.” The Minister informed that he gave employment to 300 graduates and others numbering about 1,000 in some companies and agencies of government during the political campaigns and also shared some vehicles, motorcycles, machines and machinery to people during that period.

But all that, he said, were properly planned from his office at that time. “All of those were structured and coming from our office, everyone that had been employed and come to my office was given employment letters. And I had travelled to their villages to take them there. I cannot see how someone will get employment on the internet or otherwise”, Sirika said.

He reiterated that it was impossible for him to go on social media to distribute those items which he gave out during the campaigns, adding that there was no way he could give employment letter on the internet. “Please take note of this l don’t give any employment or gifts on the internet.”

CelebritiesMy Boyfriend Dumped Me After I Said Genevieve Nnaji Makes Me Wet – Ruth Eze by Jahelastic(op): 6:37pm On May 07, 2016
Up and coming Nollywood actress, Ruth Eze has disclosed how her boyfriend dumped her after she said she had a burning and lustful passion for sultry Nollywood star, Genevieve Nnaji.

It would be recalled that Ms Eze, who maintained that she would never patronize homosexuality, confessed to Vanguard that her burning and lustful passion for Genevieve could make her have a rethink.

Ms Eze earlier said, “Only Genevieve Nnaji can make me throw caution to the wind and become a lesbian, but fortunately she is not. I am obsessed with Genevieve. She makes me wet! If she tells me to become her partner today, I’ll apologise to God and jump at the offer.”

Meanwhile, the actress had come up to say that she was misquoted after the news of her being lesbian made the rounds.

Ms Eze, who insisted she was misquoted, said, “Genevieve can never make me wet. In fact, I can never be sexually aroused by any woman, whosoever. The reporter that interviewed me took it out of proportion. It’s so embarrassing. My mother, sisters and other concerned members of my family have been on the case. They are so disappointed.”

In a regretful tone, the budding thespian, in a recent chat with the Punch, said that singular controversial interview ruined her four-year old relationship.

“I am not a lesbian and I can never be a lesbian. My mother is a devout Christian and she is an evangelist. I can never be a lesbian. I lost a four-year old relationship because of that interview. I never said that; all I said in the interview was that I love Genny very much and I still love her till date.

“I don’t care about what anybody says. I don’t judge anyone whether they are a lesbian or not. It is between you and God because the bible says we should not judge,” she cried out.

Ms Eze claimed her boyfriend didn’t believe her side of the story even when she tried to explain to him what happened.

She said, “If you are my boyfriend and you cannot stand by me in times of little trouble, what would happen when something big comes? What if it was published later in my career that I was caught in bed with a man and the story turned out to be false eventually?

“It means he would leave me and my kids when I get married to him. I should not marry someone like that. I have been tagged a controversial actress and you have to stand by me and if you cannot, then you have to go.

“After the lesbianism scandal, he said he was not comfortable with my job, so he dumped me,” Ruth added.

CelebritiesMajek Fashek No Longer Under My Care – Ayiri Emami by Jahelastic(op): 11:32am On May 07, 2016
An aide to former Governor James Ibori of Delta State, Ayiri Emami, has revealed that he is no longer responsible for reggae icon, Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly called Majek Fashek.

The oil baron, who reportedly sponsored Fashek’s rehabilitation at an Abuja rehabilitation home, Synapse Services-Centre for Psychological Medicine in 2015, disclosed that the affairs of the legendary musician was no longer under his care since the day he (Majek) returned to Lagos against his wish.

In a chat with the Punch, the Warri-based billionaire said “Majek Fashek is not under my care. When he left the rehabilitation home in Abuja, the doctors said that he needed to relax.

“They said he should stay off the music scene for some time. I wanted him to stay in Warri and relax.

“I provided everything that he needed to be comfortable but he insisted on going back to music almost immediately.

“He kept insisting and, after a while, I had to let him go. That was it.

“He wanted to join my music label, but I said no. I didn’t want other people to think that I did him a favour because I wanted him to sign on to the label.

“Instead, I told him that I could get him a good manager that would take care of him and his career, get him a car and every other thing.

“I traveled and by the time I returned one evening, Majek was already in Lagos,” Emami said.

But responding to this, Majek, when contacted, said, “It is not like that. I am an American-trained musician. When I was in America, I studied music and music business.

“So I am not in the same level as the average Nigerian musician. I am an international musician.

“Emami wanted to place me on the same level as Nigerian musicians and to control my music business. So I decided to move; no time na,” the Rainmaker quipped.

Arrant nonsense!!Tuface is just overhyped, just like our minister of darkness and this is a stab on education in Nigeria. What has 2baba contributed than impregnating and frolicking with women up and down.No wonder they tagged him father of all nations.Am a fan though but he is not gotten to that stage yet. There re many other artists that have impacted positively in Nigeria.Even all the artists (Dammy Krane, rock steady and co )under his label are not doing well.
This is a very big slap and embarrassement to our educational sector.

Is this because of money or fame? What course or program did he just finished?

I like 2baba as a person very well but not to the extent of this kinda thing.

CelebritiesOmawumi Walks Out Of Interview After Questions On Smoking, Drinking by Jahelastic(op): 7:04pm On May 05, 2016
Award winning songster, Omawumi Megbele, known by her stage name Omawumi, recently stormed out of an interview set when asked about her smoking and drinking habit.

The interview on Da Chat with HFTv literally took an unexpected turn after the singer was asked about her alleged smoking and drinking habit.

The interviewer said, “There is some controversy about you in the industry where people say Omawumi is a mother, she is doing motherhood. It’s amazing because young girls want to be like her but how does she keep this drinking and smoking habit away from her kids?

The mother of three, angered by the question, stammered, turned to ask the interviewer if she had seen her smoke or drink before.

Omawumi said, “I will not honour you with a response. I feel like that is a taint to my character.

“Have you seen me smoking before? Why should you ask me such a question?”

When the presenter said no, the singer responded, “So why would you say that?

“You see me as an artist, I am contributing what I can. I make music the way that I should and I come here and honour your invitation and then you sit down and talk about my smoking & drinking to people that are listening.”

Omawumi maintained that the presenter does not wish her well for bringing up such a topic in an interview that will hit the internet, where it’s capable of damaging her image before her fans.

She said, “And you are supposed to mean me well, when these people are supposed to be the ones that are buying my music. Now, when you say that sort of thing, do you mean me well?

In an obvious angst and in an amplified pitch, the ‘Megbele’ crooner asked repeatedly, “Have you seen me smoking before? So, why would you say something that you have not seen me do before?

“You can’t ask me to kill a rumour that you are not sure about. So first and foremost, as a rumour, you need to go and dig and get your facts right before you ask somebody something.

“So I will maintain that if you have not seen me smoking and you come out and say it on a National TV, that means you don’t mean me well and that is the end of this interview,” the 34-year-old Delta State-born walked out of the interview set as she dropped her last line to the interviewer…”And you will publish it o.”

Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer, born Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage name, Burna Boy, has responded to allegations against him by his producer, Orbeat, that he (Burna Boy) was indebted to him.

Burna Boy lambasted Orbeat for calling him out on the social media when he could as well contact him on phone.

It would be recalled that the drama over alleged debt ensued on Wednesday after Burna Boy tweeted the link to his new song and disclosed that the song was produced by Orbeat, who also produced ‘Soke’ and worked on his album.

The singer came under fire by his producer on Instagram, IG, @Orbeat_Official, saying that the song shouldn’t have been released without his consent especially since he hasn’t been paid fully for his effort.

In a series of IG posts, Orbeat had accused Burna boy of intellectual property theft by not reaching out to him for consent to drop the song he produced for him on his latest album “On A Spaceship”(OAS).

Orbeat had tweeted, “This material was released illegally, I find this nsulting. I have not been paid for the effort I put in and you disrespect me for dropping the song without consulting me.

“I don’t blame you because our judiciary in this country is a joke. You can’t just be disrespecting people who have helped your career.

“Sad thing, you really undermined me,” the singer’s producer said.

However, responding to the allegation, Burna Boy called out his producer, saying if any responsible person has issues with him, he has his number and knows where he stays and should contacted him rather than taking things out on social media.

On his IG account @burnaboy, the 24-year-old songster tweeted: “Talk about me, laugh behind my back but to my face you some well-wishing snakes with your hands out for my Money, man how much can I Take?

“Niggaz need to understand that social media ain’t a safe place to try violate man if we really know each other.

“Crackhead, thief ass nigga. You ain’t my nigga. You ain’t wit me. You begged me to f@ck with you because you are frm PH and shit. Paid you for your service. But you want more because you a crack head.

“You wanna be treated like you one of my in house producers but you NOT. Give a nigga a rope and he wanna be a cow boy.

“You know where I’m at and you have my number but you couldn’t even call, couldn’t even reply my DM’s because you are insecure and dishonest. F@ck you,” the ‘Like to Party’ crooner stated.

An Igando Customary Court in Lagos yesterday dissolved a 22-year marriage between Yaya Mustapha, 67, and his wife, Aduke. Dissolving the marriage, President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, said he was convinced that the couple could no longer live together.

According to him, the husband who is the petitioner in the case insisted on divorce after several interventions. “The court has no choice than to dissolve the union in spite of the fact that the wife still claims she loves her husband.

“The court pronounced the marriage between Yaya Mustapha and Aduke Mustapha dissolved today; both parties henceforth ceased to be husband and wife. “They are free to go their separate ways without any harassment or molestation,” Omilola ruled Yaya, a fashion designer, had sought dissolution of his 22-year marriage, alleging threat to his life.

“My wife had made several attempts to kill me in order to inherit my property but always failed. “She once poisoned my food but I sighted the substance when I was about to eat and I called the attention of our neighbours who confirmed it was poisoned. I informed both family members about it.

“For the past 13 years , I stopped eating her food and stopped making love to her because she can also get me through sex. “Also, she always pressurised me to sell my property to a strange man and I knew she had a mission,” he had told the court.

He said that Aduke abandoned her religion and converted to Christianity without his consent, adding that she always went out at will and in the company of men.

Nairaland GeneralCheck Migration Of Health Workers, WHO Urges Fg by Jahelastic(op): 8:18am On May 04, 2016
The World Health Organisation, WHO, has called on both the Federal and state governments to, as a matter of national interest, check the migration of trained health workers to other countries with a view to curbing its underlying negative effect on the health sector.

National Data Officer, WHO’s Code of Practice on International Recruitment of Health Personnel, Dr. Tony Udoh, made the call during the second stakeholders meeting on Project Brain Drain to Brain Gain, organised by African Centre for Global Health and Social Transformation held in Calabar, Cross River State.

Udoh stated that the Federal and state governments should address the issue of health workers’ migration through appropriate policy and mutual bilateral relationship with affected countries.

He said that the project was a culmination of concerns from Africa and some developing countries about the trend of loss of trained health workers moving from Africa to developed countries, a situation which he said needed to be stopped.

On her part, Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong, identified the migration of the health workforce as a complex issue created by source countries due to poor management, insufficient remuneration, low motivation and uneven performance of health workers.

Nairaland GeneralMad Woman Becomes Choir Mistress After 35 Years Of Insanity by Jahelastic(op): 7:34am On May 04, 2016
To God, it was power above Satan. But to the  human mind, it was a miracle.  A 46-year old mad woman who had roamed the streets for 35 years insane, becoming a chorister shortly after she was delivered from the bondage of marine spirits who tormented for the whole period.

Simply identified as Sister Chioma who hails from Ntigha in Ngwa area of Abia State, she automatically regained her consciousness as the evil spirits tormenting her fled during an encounter with  Prophet Onyeka Chibuzo    (Agina)of the  Church of Last Born (a.k.a the Anointed Assembly).

The miracle leading to her deliverance took place on March 11, 2016 at the premises of Onitsha Main Market where Prophet Onyeka and members of his church went to hold outreach prayers for the traders.

On how the feat was achieved, the source stated that while the Prophet was firing his prayers during the outreach, Chioma passed through the arena and when he saw her in tattered clothes, God said to him  that the hour of miracle had come.

According to Prophet Onyeka who spoke in his church at Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State,  during a special dedication service  where Chioma is presently worshiping,  “I held Chioma by the hand as she was passing by and she shouted, ‘’hapu m!” (which means leave me alone!) and I immediately ordered her to bow down”.

“Initially, she disobeyed me by repeating the command after me to also bow down but  I knew I was not fighting with Sister Chioma, but the evil spirit that was tormenting her. It was, however, at the sixth command that she fell down and immediately realized that she was almost naked.

“Sympathizers who were around and listening to my preaching, on humanitarian ground started donating clothes to her and among them, two women who had pity on her, took her to a secluded corner, cleaned her up and shaved her dreaded hair”, Prophet Onyeka stated.

He disclosed that God made a startling revelation to him during the prayer session that Chioma’s case was exceptional it was marine spirit which was spearheaded by occult men who were  desperate in amassing wealth through occultic and ritual practices that were responsible for her madness.

Narrating her ordeal from grass to grace, sister Chioma who is now a strong member and chorister at the  Church of Last Born (a.k.a the Anointed Assembly), said she didn’t know how she became mad nor what actually brought her to Onitsha. According to her, “all I knew was that my parents were dead long time ago before my madness started.

My late parent had only two of us in the family, my sister, Nkechi and I but Nkechi was married before my sanity began”. Chioma also recalled that she worked as a labourer in peoples’ farms, a job she did to earn her living before she finally became insane.

She said she did not know who or what was responsible for her past ugly condition which she must have passed through in the last 35 years, adding that she was told  by a witness who could be in her late thirties that she (witness) was only seven years old when she (Chioma) became mad.

Chioma who is now a melodious singer, singing beautiful gospel songs during their Church services, thanked God for driving away the marine spirits that tormented her and for saving her from the hands of the cultists/ritualists that tended to use her for money spinning rituals, adding that many peoples’ lives had been ruined in this manner by the so-called ritualists and cultists who are being used by the Satan and his agents to kill and destroy the children of God.

Two women who witnessed the miraculous work, Evangelist Rose Nwachukwu and Mrs Ada Jesus confessed to have known Chioma for years as she usually passed along major streets of Onitsha and Onitsha main market, where they transact their businesses.

Nairaland GeneralFayose Is An Ingrate, Says Bode George by Jahelastic(op): 11:00am On May 03, 2016
Toluwani Eniola and Ramon Oladimeji

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has described Governor Ayodele Fayose as an ingrate for saying that he would not support him (George) to become the national chairman of the party.

George also slammed Fayose for saying that PDP elders must take the backstage in the party’s affairs.

Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Fayose had blamed the loss of the 2015 general election on the elders of the party.

Fayose also dismissed the report that he was supporting the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Modu Sheriff, so that he (Sheriff) could pick him as his running mate when Sheriff finally declares his intention to run for the presidency.

The Ekiti governor had said, “Chief Bode George told me personally that he wanted to be the national chairman of the party, I told him no, that I won’t support him. With all due respect to the elderly people in this party, they must take the backstage. People are tired of seeing the same old faces again.”

But speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Monday, George said Fayose was opposing the interest of the South-West in the party, adding that his comments showed that he was an immature politician.

While stressing that the party needed experienced and matured leaders to pilot its affairs, George said age was not a barrier to good leadership but an asset.

He said the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was older than him.

George said if the chairmanship position was eventually zoned to the South-West, he would consult with family and friends on whether or not to contest, adding that politics was not a do-or-die affair.

“The kind of chairman the PDP needs is someone that has integrity, one that is trusted and established,” he said.

George added, “Fayose spoke very immaturely during the interview. For him to have said that the founding fathers of the party should take the backstage in the party’s affairs was very disgusting and self-deceitful. I actually told him at an old meeting of the party that if the chairmanship of the PDP was zoned to the South-West, that I would show interest. He told me he had heard.

“Fayose is an ingrate because when the world was against him during his first term in office, God used me to give him support. I contributed N250,000 to purchase his campaign clothes. We must defend the interest of Yoruba because we have been sidelined in the party’s leadership for too long. Fayose and Senator Buruji Kashamu cannot continue to decide for the Yoruba people in the PDP.”

George also said Fayose lied that South-West PDP leaders did not show interest in contesting the national chairmanship position.

He added that Fayose’s claim that he reached out to Senator Bode Olajumoke to contest the chairmanship position was not true.

He said, “Fayose claims to be a Christian. Let him go and read the book of Micah, chapter 7, from verse 1-10 to learn more about leadership.  Many people showed interest from the South-West, even Prof. Tunde Adeniran showed interest. Bode (Olajumoke) knows that Fayose is playing around. Bode and I discussed because we are friends.”

Nairaland GeneralBuhari Alone Can’t Turn Around Nigeria’s Fortunes – Atiku by Jahelastic(op): 8:00pm On May 01, 2016
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said President Muhammadu Buhari alone cannot turnaround Nigeria’s fortunes.

He said this in his May Day message to Nigerian workers. Atiku explained that notwithstanding the huge challenges the country and its people are facing, it will take the support of everyone working in tandem with the Buhari administration to lift the economy out of the doldrums.

The former Vice President noted that President Buhari’s anti-corruption-corruption crusade when combined with curbing waste and profligacy will free much-needed resources to jumpstart the economy by investing in infrastructure and high jobs yielding sectors especially agriculture as proposed by the government.

Atiku said, “President Buhari alone cannot turnaround the fortunes of the country.

“It requires everyone – elected and appointed officials, the legislature and the judiciary, the public and private sectors and ordinary Nigerians – working together in faith and commitment to bring about the desired change.

“With dwindling revenue from oil, it has become imperative for us to bake a bigger cake that will be big enough for all partakers. To achieve this, we need to be more creative as a government and more productive as a people.

“We all need to make sacrifices in line with the realities of the time. It is not enough to ask workers to make sacrifices while public office holders are ostensibly immune from it. Such a situation promotes industrial disharmony”.

He urged Nigerian workers not to lose faith in the ability of the nation under the leadership of President Buhari to surmount these odds.

The former Vice President also proposed a fairer deal for workers in order to reduce the frequency of strikes in the country, which he regrets takes a heavy toll on the economy.

He reminded workers that the envisaged better deal for them is intrinsically tied to increased productivity.

He also observed that improved conditions of service for workers would help to reduce corruption and fraud among employees.

Atiku also said it is impossible to convince workers to make sacrifices while the public office holders live a life that is inconsistent with the economic realities of Nigeria.

CrimeHow Evil Spirit Led Me To Steal – UNIZIK Student by Jahelastic(op): 12:09am On May 01, 2016
The Edo state Police Command has paraded a 23-year-old suspected burglar, Victor Uhoka, who blamed evil spirits for pushing him to burgle a clothe store in Benin before he was nabbed.

The incident happened April 21 on Akenzua Street, off Airport road, in Oredo Local Government Area, LGA of the state.

Uhoka was paraded before newsmen on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Abiodun Osifo.

Osifo said the suspect who hails from Orlu LGA of Imo state was apprehended after some residents noticed his moves and raised the alarm.

The PPRO said, “Uhuka Victor came from a neighbouring state, He came prepared with burglary equipment like a hammer to perfect his criminal action. He went to a shop at Akenzua in the afternoon to buy an item; he did that just to survey the store, only for him to resurface later in the night to burgle the shop.

“While the act was being carried out, people who heard the noise as he was breaking in alerted the police.

“The place was cordoned off and he was later arrested. He has confessed to the crime.

“Investigation is on; as soon as we conclude investigation, he will be charged to court,” the PPRO noted.

In his confession, the suspect who claimed to be a diploma student of Business Administration at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, Anambra State, said evil spirit lured him to commit the act, adding that the evil spirit left him after he was caught.

He said he went into burglary to enable him complete his diploma programme at the university.

Victor allegedly used an iron bar and hammer to break the door to the store at about 7 pm an the the said day.

He said, “I’m still a student at UNIZIK, Business Administration. I bought the bar hammer and bag with the little money I came with, about N4,000. My intention was to use it to remove the ceiling of the woman’s shop and collect the clothes but I did not succeed.

“It wasn’t my intention to do this. But this is my final year in my diploma and my grade point is not good and I have suffered for all these years to pass through the diploma but I could not make it. So, I decided to look for some money to give to our coordinator, who will offer us admission as a regular student, so that I can pass my courses.

“I went to a woman where she was selling her clothes and tried to enter her shop and collect her clothes before people saw me, started beating me and handed me over to the police. I went there with an iron bar around 7 pm.

“I don’t know how it came over me. It’s just that I was under pressure and panicky. I was pushed by an evil spirit. I am regretting why I did that and the spirit that made me to do that is no longer with me,” he added.
