Well, I'm still surprised with the kind of responses I'm seeing here. What it takes to manage a country like Nigeria is more than the patience Sowore decided not to exercise with his visit to Ooni. If he failed to exercise patience that could have granted him favorable view from the traditionalists and the Africanists, where will he get the patience to lead Nigeria?
I learnt a similar lesson not quite and no matter how much you're wronged, you'd still be wrong if you refuse to repay wherever way you're wronged by doing the right thing. Sowore disrespected the whole Yoruba culture with what he did. How should we trust someone who has no respect for culture or modernism now means we should be blind to what belongs to us? I know the real Yorubas are on the streets and they'll never understand the fact that the Ooni delayed him. What they'll all say is "the man that has no respect for our culture".

What Sowore should have done is wait for Ooni to come in and then walk out as soon as he enters. The same Ooni that travels to US and UK and keeps to time. The other one with multiple wives was seen hanging around the gate of the Queen's palace in London. So much for their importance. God forbid I wait for anyone for 30minutes. We have to reschedule. if only we lived on 'could-haves' and 'should-haves'. The most important question is, would an Atiku or an Obasanjo or even a Davido have been kept waiting for four hours (not three hours as the OP claims)? If the answer is no, is it because Sowore is a 'nobody' in the Nigerian scheme of things? Is it because the Ooni knew that there was no palm greasing accompanying such a visit? I bet if Sowore had left the palace after an hour of waiting, there still would have been an outcry, calling that he be changed to probably a chicken. A lot is not right about Nigeria and these traditional rulers have not helped one bit, or what have they done to change corrupt politicians in the country to goats and sheep?
