Goodmarlian: I am tired of the level of moral decadence in the world at the moment the fear of hell has declined so christianity is no longer strong enough hold off humanity, now I think islam is better because it the only religion that enforces morality even though it's not perfect,I just like the fact that it I instills fear of God law on humans. Did you know roughly 40% of our modern women are now lesbians and are proud to say it in public?promiscuity is taking over we are just focused on gays who are minority but don't know women are the time bomb waiting to explode, this is as a result of feminism it's has given women too much privilege and trust me women do not deserve the freedom the world is giving them,to save humanity man must kill feminism or the human race is on the verge of extinction, Islam is the only religion that fully understands this and are willing to enforce it. The world needs to reinforce useful morality or else we are doomed. Are you aware that in Palestine a Muslim priest can oil ur 5 year old daughter and all he will get as punishment a warning and advice? |

budaatum: No, Jakarta, that is not what you have been saying all along, and electric is different to mast.
Disco can not ask you to pay for a service they can not sell you. Like say no transformer or electric pole in your street, they can not just come bring you bill.
Unfortunately, Nigeria is wọwọ like that, so they can tell you to pay for pole to your house, and even transformer on your street, because of people like you who just steal the electric. That's how bird disco flies when you are stealing, and how they make you pay for your theft. Or did you think your theft was free and your theft had no consequences? A business man with your mindset will not succeed in business. See you shouting stealing, when all your comments was about stealing from your customers. What make you think only you can steal from customers and not vice versa? For every action there is a reaction. If as a DisCo you can't meet up your primary responsibility of distributing power to my house (service delivered) my handling that responsibility for you should result to some form of compensation from you. But if you think that you are smarter and want to make profits at my own detriment, then 2 can play the game it as simple as that. I recommend you don't run a business with this your mindset, because you will end up crumbling that business and receive serious beating from your customers. A farmer who planted Okra and expecting to harvest a Dangote trailer of yam, will almost end up not getting even a a cup of Okra. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 10:56pm On Feb 02 |
budaatum: Why will customers pay for erecting the mast? Na me and customer de form company to do business for profit?
Jakarta, of course I don't make a dime without delivering the service! Dangote did not make a dime until he completed his refinery, and I will not make a dime until I get my gari to market and in front of customers. But as soon as I finish building my refinery and get my gari to market in front of customer, I sure will charge customer all the cost of interest on the loan for building my gari refinery and erecting mast to deliver it to my customers who will pay over time or just go buy their gari elsewhere!
Trust me. I am very hard to be taught this your nonsense reasoning. In fact, it's impossible! At the bolded, can you please help me ask Disco? No you shouldn't have finished the building, you should have waited for your customers to finish building it for you, and sticking it with garri so that you can sell same garri to them and still make profit. Can you now settle down and read what you wrote gently? Isn't this what I've been saying all this while? Provide the electric poles, transformers, wires, meters, then transfer the cost to your customers as service rendered. Not expecting customers to provide all this and still expecting to charge them on it, that is stealing not business. Why this thing hard for you to understand? |

Trust me when I tell you it's for show, because I am very certain they are making you cry more by increasing your band tariff.
Or are they not increasing your band tariff and your crying? Lol Na meter by passing go use head carryam, after all Na my meter I bought it, installed transformer, electric poles and wires, so free light ba sure. Some in my area still do wire hanging till date. |

You must have you not heard of the bird that learnt to fly without perching because the hunter has learnt to shoot without missing.
When people try to collect my gari without paying, I will go to babalwo to get juju and will hire security guard to stop them! Make dem try am! But they are crying foul, and complaining already. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 10:13pm On Feb 02 |
budaatum: Wrong! I made my business plan that showed my profit way before I invest a kobo, and that's why I got the loan to open disco.
Bank will not lend me money if my business plan did not show I will make that profit, and without the loan, no disco and no service to deliver!
I think you forget that I have a monopoly on you. Or can you go and buy electricity from another disco?
Yes, though, I should supply you with what I sell so I can charge you for it, because I can not exactly charge you for gari you never bought since I'm not a highway robber!
You see the bold? That's exactly what we are trying to tell you.
MTN will indeed transfer the duty cost of erecting and maintaining a network mast to provide you the service as best they can so paying customers can buy it and pay and cover the cost I incur including that of "some customers who borrowed data and airtime and refused to pay".
Or do you seriously think NTN will pay for those customers who borrowed data and airtime and refused to pay?
Jakarta, will you cover the cost of those who refuse to pay you if you be MTN? Ogbeni you go hard to teach oh!!! You don't make a dime without delivering the service, MTN first erected the mast after which they transferred the cost to the paying customers. Why didn't MTN ask same customer to erect the mast themselves and still charge them for the cost of erection, in such a scenario if you were a customer will you agree? |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 9:49pm On Feb 02 |
budaatum: The primary duty of a DisCo and gari selling me is to make a profit! It is definitely not so you have light or don't starve! Then don't cry foul when people try to collect your garri for free. So no talk of not paying cost reflective tariffs and all that. You can't plant okra, and want to harvest yam. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 9:46pm On Feb 02 |
budaatum: Jakarta, with no insult intended, I strongly advice you don't go into, business it very much sounds to me like your intention would nit be to secure your capital and earn an income, but to do charity!
I mean, who else do you expect to "bear the responsibility of building your garri shop, buying the basins and others things to sell your garri for you" if not customers?
As for me, when thieves enter my shop and steal everything, I will increase the cost of my gari to extort you customer to cover my loss. If you no want buy, please go elsewhere!
Dude, you are very wrong! A discos core responsibility (and mine for selling gari) is to earn a profit from distributing electricity (and my gari) to cover all my costs and earn a decent profit so I can pay my investors.
It is you who think you "already paying way over cost reflective tariffs". Disco gari selling me don't give a flying fük about your tariffs or even if you have electricity or eat gari in Band Z. All I care about is my profit. And if you can not pay for my gari in the tariff that profits me, please feel free to remain in the dark, because I definitely did not wake up very early this morning so you can have light to eat my gari in your band! No insult intended but I strongly believe you don't know anything about running a business, and I recommend you don't run one, because it will cost your dearly. Let me Elim5 yes every business goal is to secure their capital and make profits, that comes after service delivery. A DisCo will only make profit when it performs it's duty of service delivery (distributing power to our homes), a happy customer will always return and buy more. MTN will not transfer the duty of erecting and maintaining a network mast because customer some customers borrowed data and airtime and refuse to pay, rather they will transfer the service cost to paying customers, but first provide the service to those paying customers this shouldn't be too hard to understand. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 9:30pm On Feb 02 |
nairalanda1: You are essentially arguing for the right to free power.
Nothing is free What is the primary duty of a DisCo? And how should asking discos to perform its duties translates to asking for free power? You are the one arguing to reap where you did not sow. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 8:37pm On Feb 02 |
budaatum: Actually, this your logic is exactly what any business will do, unless they don't want to remain in business!
If I sell you gari and you don't pay, I will definitely increase my price of my gari I sell to others to recoup my loss so I can have enough money to go buy more gari to sell. Because, if I don't, my days as a gari seller will soon end, and because my gari selling is not a charity!
I will even make my paying customers pay for the gari I lost through theft, and that lost through my own incompetence too, and to pay the exorbitant interest I took to buy the gari in the first place, and all the money I paid bandits in police uniform when I was transporting it.
Someone has to pay for you stealing my gari and not paying, and for my loss and for my profit on top, and there is no reason it must be me. And na business!
Please let me know if you will not do the same. Yes you can do all this no qualms, but should the paying customers bear the responsibility of building your garri shop, buying the basins and others things to sell your garri for you, even after increasing the cost of your garri? If yes, then that is not a business, but an extortion scheme and it is doomed to fail because those paying customers will soon find a way to exploit you too, through looting your shop, buying even higher credits and not paying, and even want to beat you up if you ask them to pay their debts lol!!. A DisCo core responsibility is distributing power to our homes, if you fail that core responsibility how then do you expect your customers not to fail in their own responsibility of paying for power? Talking about cost reflective tariffs, Band A users are already paying way over cost reflective tariffs, yet they don't have power, and still perform the duties of DisCos. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 7:08pm On Feb 02 |
nairalanda1: Yes, because in sane countries everyone pays their bills on time, therefore the distribution companies can afford transformers and so on
Nigeria? First off, only 20% of consumers pay cost reflective tarrifs. Government is struggling to pay subsidies and even the bond they issued to pay for the thing only covers a small amount, not the whole, stealing power or using power without paying for it it something that most people do, and metering doesn't solve the problem. Let's not forget corruption and ripoffs like estimated billing which happen because not everyone pays so discos burden those who do pay
That translates to a sector that loses money and cant afford to buy transformers, polew and wires so people have to buy it.
I am not here to defend any government and if you think I am, then you have missed the point
To make it clear, we all pay cost reflective tarrifs for the phone services we use. As such we don't buy diesel for the generators , we don't buy telecom mast and we don't buy components for the gsm company. Because we pay them a cost reflective tarrifs and because people cannot use phones without paying. The power sector doesn't have that advantage
Any abuse would be reported to the mods There is no any sane country in the world where everybody pay their bills on time, that's a lazy lie. Making paying customers suffer for a company's inefficiency doesn't make sense one bit. Going by your logic since people borrow airtime without bothering to pay back, should telecom companies see that as an excuse for other paying customers to suffer the consequences of bad debts? People will pay for what they see and use, and if they fail to do so, then disconnection is sure. A transformer can't be faulty for almost a month and as customers we bear the brunt or fixing it, then a week later a distribution company will slap us with bills without deducting the cost from of fixing the said transformer, that is stealing, unfair and will always be resisted. As a distribution company if you don't have money to provide the needed structure for your business to run smoothly then you quit and let those that can do it, not transferring your basic responsibilities to consumers all in the name of bad debts, consumers not paying bills on time, not having money, those are lame excuses. |
Politics › Re: South Africa Restores Power to Nigeria High Commission after debts payment by Jakarta: 6:22pm On Feb 02 |
nairalanda1: In a sane country, when you owe nepa bills , they cut your lights
In Nigeria, when you owe bills, you steal the power and chase nepa officials who come to disconnect you with cutlass and gun. Of course the big men and women ignore
And then we wonder why we don't have light. In sane countries consumers don't bear the cost of buying electric poles, transformers, wires, etc, it is the responsibility of distribution companies. Left with people like you, consumers will be the ones installing and maintaining telecom masts by now. |

Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy or not smart. They fail because they start without structure.
They jump from one business idea to another.
No system. No focus. No patience.
I’m curious to hear from others here: What do you think is the biggest mistake beginners make online in Nigeria? Most people fail due to Inconsistency and impatience, and most importantly information marketers who sell fake dreams to them all in the name of an ebook. |

Namaster: This is the reality EVERYWHERE in the world. The Taliban were just FOOLISH enough to codify it into their laws.
EVERYBODY knows that people get punished DIFFERENTLY for the same crime based on their status, wealth and, in some countries, RACE.
For instance, Robert Morris an American MegaChurch Pastor was recently CONVICTED of raping a MINOR and his punishment was JUST 6 months in jail. Most likely, soft white collar jail too.
If a poor man or black commits the same crime, his punishment would be FAR GREATER than that.
So before ANYBODY castigates the Taliban, let them address their own country's LOPSIDED INjustice system. See them terrorists, and pedos. |

Every day people are staking, why is that because most people are winning and doing well with it while the losers are seeing this and they continue. Bro this argument isn't necessarily. I'm not advising anybody to stop or continue with betting. All I'm saying is if it's hurting you it's your choice to stop and if it's paying you it's your choice to continue. All this things you all are agitating for won't work. Life is a choice and everyone has his right to choose. Your experience is yours. You can predict that tomorrow it will rain heavily while tomorrow is will now rain lightly or it won't rain at all. Note though games odds are given based on past h2h and last matches played, it doesn't mean the same past outcome will repeat in the present game. And you didn't answer my question. If betting is like predicting the future and yes past outcomes doesn't guarantee future occurrence? But how come bookies are the ones profiting and making huge profits, while the bettors are loosing their money? Does it means the bookies are good at predicting the future? Something that is not guaranteed should be favouring both sides long term. How come it is not? Why will a bookmaker like pinnacle sports not close your account for using strategies like arbing or value betting, but a bookie like sportybet will close your account for same activities? |

If truly betting is like predicting the future where anything can happen, why are bookies not bankrupt yet, just like bettors? Odds compilation is way more than h2h and last matches played stats. |
