@ dayo

I think it's unfair to discredit a striker based on his national team performances alone

Are you aware that Alessandro peiro has only managed 27 goals in 91 national team app for Italy. That record is a far cry from his club

performances . . according to your logic, we can also conclude that he isn't/wasn't world class based solely on his NT's goal tally.

Messi is another player that has failed to replicate his club form for the national team, should that significantly affect his world class status as well?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by jalether(op): 12:19am On Nov 09, 2010
Our defeat to Liverpool didn't come as a surprise to me or to anyone who hasn't allowed end results of previous games or our position on the league table to

cloud their judgement. . . . performances against blackburn, wolves and spartak et al have been below par and the warning signs were there for all to see

carlotti has once again chosen to remain oblivious to the fact that Ramires is not a first eleven material and his lack of creativity was clearly exposed at

anfield and all the games he has played this season . . .if work rate/pace is all there is to win a starting shirt at Chelsea, we might as well recruit Usain bolt

and Forrest gump in the Jan transfer window.

I'm surprised no one has questioned carlotti's decision of starting our best player, DD, from the bench yet. What was the reasoning or justification?

Oyinda, dem don finally dey teach you well o. tongue

Capitalism is utter trash if not moderated. Absolute rubbish!

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-280487.96.html#msg4033406

It brings out the dark side of humans.

Look at when California deregulated its power industry, the bas-tard traders at Enron purposely seized control of the machinery and started creating artificial power shortages to create lower supply and drive up prices. The traders were making millions a year, whilst the ordinary people were struggling to pay their bills and some had to go without.

Pure Capitalism is thrash!!!
Can you propose a better system than capitalism?
PoliticsRe: What Is Your Opinion On Capitalism? by jalether(m): 12:02am On Nov 03, 2010
Capitalism remains the most effective economic system that currently exist at distributing wealth and alleviating absolute poverty even with its flaws

as already mentioned, many countries such as China and India are experiencing economic growth and improved standard of living of its citizens which

would not have been posible without the free market system.

however I do agree that capitalism has its many flaws; stretching from unequal wealth distribution accross and within nations to exploitation of the

poor by the rich

Game over

Kudos to spurs and in particular Bale for showing their worth against the defending champions. The scoreline is just about a fair reflection of the game.

Is Bale's dominance over maicon an indication that the widely touted best right back in the world is either overrated or has dropped in form considerably

perhaps his style of defending just suits Bale perfectly.

After this performance, one must be reluctant to still consider maicon as the best rb in the business. . . bale's total dominance over him surely can't be a fluke

meanwhile pavy converts bale's assist to make it 3-1.  sublime

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. however what cannot be denied is the fact that some opinion/assertion are highly questionable

your assertion is akin to comparing Diego Barreto to Jose chilavert or Valdes to Casillas.

the three gk's in question are considered footie legend for a reason.
PoliticsRe: 2010 World Corruption Ranking-nigeria Is 134th by jalether(m): 1:28pm On Oct 28, 2010
Any list that does not put Nigeria in the 175th slot as the most corrupt country in the world lacks credibility.

I will be hard pressed to name one country that can rival Nigeria in terms of corruption.

I see some potential in bebe, if given sufficient opportunity by the club, he can become a very good winger

He has plenty of pace and decent crossing ability but his first touch needs working on

StarBoard:
Why the ranking?
Subjective list at best.
If I want to be subjective,I'd switch VDS with Cech on the basis that Cech has no CL and VDS has two.
Barthez should be above Cech too.Afterall,he's a world Cup winner. No mean feat.
If I want to be subjective, that is.
In terms of ability.I'd say Schmeicel isn't better than VDS. He too has dropped his share of clangers. How he makes legendary status is news to me.
Is Buffon a better keeper than Angelo Perruzi of Francesco Toldo?Just asking. Is Julio Cesar better than Pagliuca was?Even Oliver Kahn has Andreas Kopke,Balu Aumman and Bodo Ilgner to answer to,in my view, as his superiors.
Remember Jean-Michelle Preud'homme too?Shouldn't he be on your list somewhere?

Some topics are not even up for debate. . . .Cech is better than VDS.

As dk pointed out, vds has never, at any point in his career, been a world class goalie. In contrast, Cech was arguably the best gk in the world between

2004-06. So what's the basis for this comparison

and please name modern day left backs whose attacking forays are not what attracts praises.I wonder if full backs are even required to defend these days.Anyways,I have been watching bale closely this season and I insist he's arguably the best I have seen so far
Left backs are still still recognised for their defensive attributes otherwise Yuri Zhirhov, for reference sake, would be held in higher esteem than ashley cole.

To be honest that penalty looks 50 - 50 to me but cmon inter was already 1-0 up before that red card.

So you mean if a team like arsenal or barcelona is one man down to inter then that is reason for inter to be leading 4-0

Abeg even 11-11 tottenham is no march for inter . .  this na champions league na.
I was referring to gareth bale specifically. . . my comment has nothing to do with spurs performance so far in this match

ofcourse inter are superior to spurs but not by a long stretch and no one is disputing that, however no one can deny that spurs would have offered

more threat to inter with 11 v 11. whichever angle you want to look at it, the sending off has had a significant impact on this game

Talk of those that left with clear mind and conscience and not som1 that had lil mis-understandin with the coach or the club management before leavin. Adebayor had a lil mis-understandin with wenger before leavin and did u see what he did to V.persie on the field of play against Arsenal ? Is so, why won't he be boo-ed and beefed by the fans ? You left a club doesn't mean when play against your former club next time, you'll try to injure your former team mates. And was that the reason why it was generalised to all Arsenal players that left the club ? Pls read the link on my previous post and see for your self what the Arsenal fans did when Eduardo, not only that he played against Arsenal, but when he scored against Arsenal, read and findout the fans reaction when he scored and tell me how many players had recieved such oviation. For your info again, what would you say about Thiery Henry's visit to Emirate with barca ? undecided

I broda, im not here for arguements, i just don't like GENERALIZIN when makin arguements !!!
Who dey follow you argue?

You made a false assertion and I pointed it out to you

whether Ade's harsh treatment by the fans and wenger is warranted or not is not the real issue here, the crux of the matter is that your initial

statement of arsenal having respect and love for all their ex players is false. kappish. just admit that you goofed and stop making silly excuses.
